After a great deal of researching lapsteels, it didn't take long to see that the Duesenberg Fairytale model was the one I wanted. Other lapsteels on the market had a variety of problems you ended up having to deal with due to poor quality, tuning problems, having to install aftermarket benders, special capos, no cases,etc. The Duesenberg Fairytale model has everything you need - including legendary quality and sound. If you are serious about playing a lapsteel don't waste your time with buying come cheap model you will end up regretting and never play. Get the best - get a Duesenberg! Also, don't waste your time with other music companies, buy it from Sweetwater Music. Sweetwater is a pleasure to do business with and will back up their instruments. I have found that they always have the best prices.

I spoke to Brian at Sweetwater to get this guitar and she showed up in time for my 60th birthday.
The Fairytale is a work of art.
The Humbuckers give a nice warm sound and the benders add that Pedal Steel sound I've been looking for.
Is she worth the money?
Hell yeah, she is.
The Rolling Capo is a really nice feature also.
I am always attracted to "Swiss Army Knife" guitars.
This is it for Lap Steels.
There is so much versatility here, which opens so many doors.
I call her my Les Paul of Lap Steels.
If you can grab one, do it.

But… Duesenberg can be hard to reach and deliveries are sporadic and unpredictable. So, if you find one that's available, buy it! They don't last long but are great instruments nonetheless.
