Stock Gretsch Pickup replacement with TV Jones
I replaced my stock Gretsch pickuos with TV Jones in both the bridge and neck positions. I was hoping to get a warmer sound overall as the stocks were kind of harsh and brittle sounding.
The TV Jones were better but only slightly. Was it a $ improvement?
Great Purchase
I had someone recommend the TV Jones for my hollow body Gretsch I own. So I bought both the bridge and neck pickups. What difference it has made. Love these pickups and would recommend them to anyone looking for a true Gretsch sound.
Replacing Pups in a G6228FM
I got the neck and bridge versions of these pups to replace the stock pups in my Gretsch Duo Jet Players Edition. Initially I was told by TV Jones thst these were all i needed - mistake. Thanks to my sales rep Jason, i also got the smaller pup rings and then it was a perfect fit,
Cosmetically, these look so much better than the stock pups, just a bit smaller snd more substantial looking. Sonically, brighter {not spikey} with more focus and articulation.
I'm very pleased with the change and highly recommend.
TV Jones Neck and Bridge pickups
Exceeded my expectations! I installed the neck and bridge versions of these TV Jones in my 2003 Les Paul Standard. I used the Mojo Tone pre-wired harness. The installation was relatively easy considering I don't have much experience changing pickups. I was considering buying a Gretsch guitar because I wanted that great jangly sound. I came across some reviews where other folks replaced the stock Gretsch pickups with TV Jones and I thought ... why not just install the TV Jones set in my Les Paul and not spend $2000-$3000 on another guitar. I am so glad I decided to go with the TV Jones set. The sound is amazing and EXACTLY (or better) than I expected.
Classic Gretsch sound.
I put this pickup in a new Gretsch 5420T Electromatic. You need one of the TV Jones Dual Screw Mount Adapter to install it in a newer Electromatic. It sounds amazing. A big improvement over the stock pickup. It has very crisp clean sound without being harsh. Pair this with the TV Jones TV Classic neck and you have that classic Gretsch sound. I would definitely recommend this pickup.

TV Jones Classic Bridge Pickup
I bought one of these bridge pickups for a project guitar. It sounds phenomenal. Classic filtertron tone. Even though I don't have the project guitar this was for I'll be keeping this for a future hollow body purchase.
