Ibanez FRH10NBSF Thinline Nylon Acoustic-electric Guitar - Brown Sunburst Reviews
Step into a merger of classical and contemporary with Ibanez’s Thinline Nylon Acoustic-electric guitar. Don’t be fooled by the supposed solidbody appearance of this guitar — the solid Sitka spruce top is supported with classical-style fan bracing for a touch-sensitive response that blooms and resonates with even the slightest pluck. The sapele back and sides then come into play by introducing tones brimming with balance and top-end shimmer. You’ll even have easy fingerboard access thanks to the cutaways that embellish both sides of the Thinline Nylon. Top it off with Ibanez custom electronics and an under-saddle pickup, and you have an Ibanez that strummers from all walks of life can appreciate.

Beautifully familiar
I've been waiting for this one. It's got such a good familiar feel for those of us who are not classical player. A cross between classical and traditional thin line acoustics. My first nylon acoustic. I love Ibanez acoustic guitars for plugged in gigging I own 3 and rotate them on weekend acoustic gigs. The FRH sounds amazing plugged in which to me is really what it's designed to do. Unplugged is good as well with the sound port on the top but this won't fill a room unplugged like a dreadnought.
The neck is comfortable and the set up was pretty good from Sweetwater…action is similar to standard acoustics maybe a wee bit higher but very playable.
I use the Boss VE 8 live for acoustic gigs and this guitar sounds amazing through the pa.
Only downside for me…as people have shared, there is no volume control or eq so running through the smaller mixer or amp requires a lot more tweaking. It does have a mute switch. Only other thing is that the pre amp runs off watch style batteries so if you are gigging make sure you have backups. Not sure how long batteries will last in a live set up.
Ibanez FRH10NBSF Thinline Nylon Acoustic electric guitar
I am really liking this guitar extremely light and very well made
It sounds great through my amplifiers
very playable I would recommend this guitar plus it is very reasonably priced for the quality
highly recommended
GREAT way to change up your tone.
Pedals can change the way you sound, but I will say, this guitar makes it easy to play nylon from an electric. It can change your sound pretty well too. What's really cool is that the acoustic vs electric sounds are very different. My only complaint is that it seems to go out of tune way during some jam sessions. Not sure what it is. Intonation is a bit of an issue too, but I really don't think people should be using this a primary guitar to play on, but that's just me. I'm sure everyone would enjoy this tho!
Ibanez Fr10n Crossover Comfort
I have had a love/hate relationship with nylon string guitars for years. I love how they provide a beautiful dynamic sound to folk, jazz, and country whether you're mimicking Peter, Paul, and Mary, Joe Pass, or Chet Atkins. I have been using a Yamaha NTX700C for some time, and it is a pretty good as crossover nylon, but I'm still not able to play some things smoothly with my smaller hands.
This Ibanez FR10N works for me. The neck is quite a bit thinner even though the string spacing is the same as the Yamaha (5/16"). I did shave the saddle down about a 1/16 of an inch and tighten the truss rod a bit. Plays beautifully without buzz and reasonably low action. The lack of volume and tone control is not an issue for me. A good acoustic amp can take care of that. With the adjustments I mentioned, you'll love the new possibilities!
I have always trusted Ibanez. I have a PM2 archtop and a AM93 semi-hollow, and now this acoustic electric. They are all well-made, easy to play, and sound great. Go for it ...
Good with some shortages!
I bought it about a month ago. I absolutely love it but as todays guitarist habbits i think it need tone and volume control knobs.
Sound is amazing, touch and playing feel are really enjoyable.
Tnx for your great web site.
