Automation is a massive pain; I can't get automation to respond to my Arturia midi sliders. In Reaper, you just right click, learn MIDI CC automation, hit record, and just do your thing.

The separation of Patterns, Channel Rack, Playlist and Mixer panel is a huge pain. Sometimes you have to rename several things, and even if you create an "Instrument Track", it won't rename the pattern that is associated with that track. Sometimes you just get lost and can't figure out which instrument is going to which mixer track, from which pattern coming from the channel rack?

Then you have automation lanes, they can go anywhere in the playlist, you will have a giant mess of automation tracks randomly everywhere.

The absolute final nail in the coffin of this being such a HORRIBLE DAW is the fact that you can't punch in/punch out. That's right. In Reaper you simply set the area you want to start recording and stop recording, make sure "Time selection auto punch" is selected for the recording type, and that's it, it splices it right in there.

Fl Studio? NOPE. It makes SEPERATE TRACKS for every recording. So, if I am recording a vocal and I mess a part up, I have to record a new vocal on a separate track, and then manually splice it in there. Sometimes you wind up with like 10 different tracks. It's a mess, it's an unmitigated, unorganized mess.

This is not a good DAW for anything other than making beats. Unfortunately, I was following a tutorial and was quite enjoying the workflow, so I bought it in order to save my project. Huge mistake. I can't even give it away to a friend that could really use it.

Just be warned this is NOT A TYPICAL DAW. If you want to do EVERYTHING else other than make beats, go get Reaper.

FL Studio is an amazing DAW with great features. I have used many DAWS in the past to create music but nothing matches the speed of FL with its easy workflow. Its piano roll is probably one of the best in the market and has been for a long time. It allows you to easily create music without a MIDI keyboard or other hardware. It comes with built in plugins which are really some of the best. Fruity EQ2 being one of my favorites. I feel more creative while using this DAW. The reason I'm giving it a one star rating is because their customer support is very bad. Like seriously bad. I've never seen a company care less about a customer. If you need any help with your DAW or account you're basically going to wait days before you get any sort of reply. Replies feel robotic although it was written by an actual human which doesn't make sense. Getting anything resolved with them is impossible. Its like talking to a brick wall.
