Fender FEJ610 Jaguar / Jazzmaster / Starcaster Gig Bag
Fender FEJ610 Jaguar / Jazzmaster / Starcaster Gig Bag Reviews
The FEJ-610 Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Starcaster Gig Bag from Fender is an ultra-stylish, tough, 600-denier polyester bag that keeps your prized axe protected getting to and from the stage. This durable bag features 10mm padding and is lined with soft-touch microfiber that is an added layer of protection that coddles your instruments’ more delicate controls. The FEJ-610 also features a comfortable two-piece handle and ergonomic, air mesh, adjustable backpack straps that make the longer walks to the stage a lot easier. And here at Sweetwater, we appreciate the roomy front storage pocket for gig extras like strings, cables, and tuners. There’s even a business card window on the front that displays your contact info in the event that you and your electric get separated!
On the plus side, the bag actually fits a Jazzmaster and the zipper seems decent. That's really about all it has going for it. The way you have to load it feels like you're going to scratch your guitar and zipping it feels like you're going to hose your tremolo. I'd send it back if shipping wouldn't be half the price of the bag.
TLDR: Spend the extra little bit and get the Gator 4G.
A Starcaster fit
Fits my Affinity Starcaster just right. It came with the bundle. No complaints.
Too tight of a fit
Bought a Squier CV 70s jaguar, this bag was in the items confirmed to fit but once I got it, the fit is way too tight that it moves the bridge when I put it into the bag even with the strap off, so forget about trying to fit this specific guitar with the strap attached.
Nice bag but not fit for Starcaster
This is a pretty nice gig bag. It's got decent padding and a big front pocket with a card holder and a small zipper pocket.
It shouldn't be classified as a Starcaster case, though, because the fit is very tight and you have to be careful zipping around the body. It's even worse if you have anything in the front pocket; the fit around the guitar is tighter and the Starcaster makes the pocket smaller.
It's a nice bag overall but not a first choice for a Starcaster and I'd say it shouldn't be listed as a Starcaster case.
Nice little gig bag that does what it’s supposed to do!
Fits the Fender Jaguar Player II great!
Great Case
For months I have wanted a guitar case for my jazzmaster, and this is a nice, well padded case which will keep my guitar safe and snug. I think it's important to have your guitar in a case because of temperature fluxuations as the seasons change.
Works well
This case does what I ask of it. It is a bit tight width wise for a Starcaser but I can zipper it with care.
Squier Starcaster
This case does fit my Squier Starcaster, but it's a tight fit. I guess that can be good and bad. Good because it doesn't move around too much. Bad if you scrape the finish with the zipper trying to get it closed. Since this case is marketed for a Jaguar/Jazzmaster/Starcaster, I expected it to be a bit more roomy.
Solid Fit
Solid fit on a Fender Jag that came with a hard case. These stock fender bags are fine for household/studio use and storage, or local gigs, not quite enough padding for long-distance or air travel. 5-stars for fit and function, if you need something heavier for travel that isn't a big rectangular case - recommend elsewhere for a serious travel bag.
Finally, a gig bag for offsets and the star caster…
I'm so happy I found this gig bag. I have a star caster, a jaguar and a couple of JazzMasters. The conventional fender gig bags will fit the Jaguar, but nothing else. Well, I wish they made this in a thicker padding, these gig bags still provide decent protection. And more importantly, right now it's just about the only game in town at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
A Great Gig Bag
This gig bag is super deluxe. Its design is beautiful in every detail. It is apparent that the folks at Fender put a lot of thought into making an extraordinary gig bag for their Jazzmaster and Jaguar. The padding is firm and protective. I highly recommend it.
Fits a jag or jazzmaster buy hugely overpriced. Not much protection. No were near as nice as the gigbag that came with the Fender Mexican player jags and jazzmasters.
Lacking compared to other Fender bags
This bag is adequate but nothing more and seems overpriced for what it is. Big enough to fit my partsmaster Jaguar, but the padding and protection are minimal. Better than nothing if you're transporting to a gig or moving apartments, but I'd still be tempted to wrap a blanket around it. What's surprising is how much nicer the smaller/cheaper FE620 bag is. That bag won't fit a Jaguar but it is thicker and heavier, with added features like rubber bumpers. It's overall way nicer AND cheaper. I never would have expected such a big quality drop for this bag.
Not What I Expected and Not Worth the Price
This his a very thin, lightly padded sleeve style gig bag. Not a semi hard case like many others at this price point. There aren't many options for Jazzmasters unfortunately so I'll keep this but it is not worth $... This case has no neck support or anything like that. It's a cheap gig bag that's overpriced with a Fender logo on it.
Just a bit more room please…
I bought this case for a Fender Jaguar and it is a nice case. Seems sturdy, well made… it's just a bit tight around the upper horn when you go to zipper it. Like another half inch would be nice fender. Just weird it doesn't quite fit right. It'll work though, and should last. As always sweetwater (thanks matt Christopherson!) was great!
Fits Like a Glove
I've had many guitars over my lifetime and have always gotten cases to keep them in. However, this is the 1st gig bag. All my others have been hard shell. I confess, I settled on this gig bag because there didn't seem to be a hard shell made specifically for my Starcaster. I'm pleasantly surprised with this bag. It's thinner than I'd imagined, but nonetheless sturdy with padding thick enough to offer real protection. The Starcaster (I have the Squire Affinity model) fits like a glove inside the case without out any pulling or tugging to zipper it up. The backpack straps are convenient. I wish I'd have had something like this years ago when I was actually taking my guitar places! All-in-all, I'm quite satisfied and recommend this gig back. Two thumbs up.
Mr. Sellers
The bag is well made, fits well but is not as well padded as other 'Fender' bags I have purchasd.
FENDER JAGUAR/JAZZMASTER/STARCASTER GIG BAG
Last December I purchased a Squire Starcaster. I was told by Fender Customer Service that they did't make a gig bag for the Starcaster & I told them that they would probably sell more of them if they did. I kept it in an acoustic guitar gig bag. Recently, I purchased a Squire Telecaster with a Jazzmaster body. Whether I was going to eventually get a hard case for it, I knew I needed a gig bag & that's when I discovered this gig bag. It houses my Starcaster & will double as a gig bag for my Tele/Jazzmaster.
