Fender FBSS-610 Short-scale Bass Gig Bag - Black
Fender FBSS-610 Short-scale Bass Gig Bag - Black Reviews
Fender has developed an affordable yet durable gig bag for your short-scale electric bass: the FBSS610. It features an outer layer of 600-denier polyester that shields against the grind of loading your instrument in and out among other gear. Machine sewn tight, this outer layer resists ripping and tearing and provides a layer of resistance against moisture as well. The inner shell of the FBSS610 consists of 10mm padding with soft-touch velour that won't scratch or nick the surface finish of your bass. A 2-piece handle for quick access in and out of your touring vehicle or trailer means you get to the stage fast. If you need to make the long walk, the FBSS610 also offers ergonomic air-mesh backpack straps with easily adjustable ladder-lock buckles. The front pocket is great for accessories and features an ID tag holder and a smaller fixed pocket for instrument tools. With its combination of quality and affordability, the FBSS610 is a popular choice among Sweetwater's community of bass players.
Fender FBSS-610 short scale bass gig bag
Nice, thick padding and fits my Squire Bronco bass perfectly.
Size isn't that suitable for short scale.
So I'll split my review to 2 parts. First, I bought it outside of USA and it arrived very quickly and was packed well.
Let's talk about the product: I was sure that of I buy fender short scale bass bag, it would perfect suit for fender mustang bass, because, it's the whole point right? So I think it's too wide and too long as others mentioned, maybe I should have buy a guitar case instead... I really don't get the dimensions, but I can live with it.
Fender Gig Bag
Product and service from Sweetwater is a #1 Class Act and that's why I've been a customer of Fender and Sweetwater for years.
Almost Perfect
For the money, this is a pretty good gig bag if you're looking for something that does the job well. The only reason it gets 4 stars from me is because my Firefly FFJA VI Baritone just barely fits in it. So, while I wish it had just a little more space for my particular guitar, it still fits in it and I'm happy with my purchase.
Perfect Fit
I purchased this for a short-scale bass, my Fender Squier Bronco, which doesn't come with a gig bag or case.
The gig bag fits perfectly.
Mini P-Bass Gig Bag the Best
Fender Gig bag is the best for my Squier by Fender Precision Bass!
Great for the grandkids
The soft case looks and fells nice.
Short scale gig bag
Excellent product.
Attractive, well made and nicely padded.
Gig Bag
Had a great experience with Blake while ordering this new gig bag. The price was great, and it fit my Fender short-scale bass perfectly. Blake worked with me to use up my Sweetwater gift card (love the Sweetwater T-shirt, BTW)!
Need to protect a Squier VI or Jazzmaster XII?
It is not easy to find a solution for in-between sized instruments like these, thankfully this gig bag fits both. I doubt it will have to provide too much protection for me, but it seems decently padded.
Doesn’t fit squire CV Mustang. Not even close
I should've checked Sweetwater's case matching tool I admit, but this bag does not fit the squire cv mustang bass. Perfectly good product quality wise, but this should be clearer from fender. Only reason I gave 4 stars not 5
The right one for my baritone
My offset-bodied baritone has a 30 inch scale and this thing fits it like a (very tight!) glove -- IOW, nice and snug with zero wiggle room. It's also flat as a pancake when empty, which makes it easy to stow away when the guitar is on its usual wall hanger, which is more than I can say for most of my other gig bags. Given the super-low sale price and the Fender promo discount, buying it was a classic no-brainer -- IOW, a great deal on something I actually needed!
Fits the Squier Jazzmaster XII 12 String!!
The Squier Jazzmaster XII 12 String is a very special and popular addition to a collection. It's a well crafted instrument and very unique. The hard part is finding a Case or Gig Bag for it. The 12 tuner headstock is longer than the regular Jazzmaster. The guitar is about 43" long. A bass hardshell case will work, but there's a lot of room left over. This Short Scale Bass bag is perfect!! I think it's an excellent quality bag and it keeps the Fender brand consistent.
Not a great fit for Yamaha 5-string
This Fender gig bag was recommended for the Yamaha TRBX305 5-string bass I ordered. The bass just barely fit in the bag, which made it a little too tight to suit me. Not sure why I had to pay a $ restocking fee, but I really was not happy with the fit, so I would have returned it anyway. I got the same bag from Sweetwater for a 4-string Squier short-scale bass, which is a good fit. Not so with my new Yamaha 5-string.
Snug but my BC Rich Warlock fits
I got this because I was looking for a gig bag for my BC Rich Warlock. It fits. You sort of need to let gravity shake the guitar down against the non-zippered edge and pull the zipper gently across the upper point.
Fender FBSS-610 short scale bass gig bag
For the price it is a nice gig bag. My short scale bass fits nicely in the gig bag.
Fender FBSS-610 Short scale Bass gig bag
Case was hard to find for Ibanez GSR200. This fits great. Case is of good quality.
Bass gig bag
So far so good. The fit is good for a Mustang bass.
Decent, but not what you want for a Mustang Bass
Product is well made and is as described. It fits my Mustang Bass however it's just not what you want for your bass. The large Mustang Bass tuners are pressed flat almost immediately upon putting the bass into this case so it's always an annoying tuneup when taking out. The front pockets are big enough for a strap and a cable but not much more. After 6mo I ended up buying a hard case. Much better, should have started with the hard case and saved myself the headaches.
Fender FBSS-610 short scale Bass gig bag
everything works as promised!
Short scale basses deserve a better bag!
I literally wore through the bottom of this within a year! Also,it offers very little protection. C'mon Fender! You make several really nice short scale basses,we need better gig bags!
Roomy for Short-scale, but Tough Enough
My JMJ Mustang Bass arrived in a nice '90s-style Fender bass gig bag, but it proved to be an ideal slip-in, slip-out home for my '67 P-bass. So I ordered this "short-scale" new-style gig bag for the Mustang. While it's a little longer than it needs to be (that modernist Gumby shape at the top takes up a few empty inches) it's perfectly adequate for the local storage and transport of the beloved "road-worn" instrument, making sure it doesn't acquire any new "honest" wear on its factory-dinged nitrocellulose finish. As with any gig bag, I've folded a small towel into the bottom of the bag to sit under the strap button and prevent wear-through -- that eventually happens with most gig bags holding a heavy-ish bass, including my '90s Fender double gig bag, tough as it is.
Not for the road.
If you want something to keep your bass or baritone in along with a humidity pack it's fine. Use for gigs and on the road look elsewhere. Bag only unzips half way also. Padding not so much.
Squire 12 string Paranormal
Great guitar. Plekd and have no issues at all. 4th guitar from Sweetwater, always a great experience!
Royale screw
To short for my Squire Paranormal Rascal Bass in addition to the 3 inch razor tear in the fabrics outer material. QC must have been on hangover.
Good bag
Nice fit checked by Sweetweater crew. Enough padding. The geat pocket would how more if it was rectangular rather than a kind of pentagon shape. Good zippers. In summary a good bag.
Excellent Choice for a Baritone Guitar
Long story short, built a baritone jazzmaster from Warmoth but due to the scale length neck Warmoth offers (28 5/8) the hardshell case on Sweetwater (Gator GC-ELEC-XL) was too short length wise for the guitar; not to mention, the offset body was too wide for that hardshell case.
However, this padded gig back for short scale bases fits the baritone jazzmaster I built with about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of spare room. Perfect length, and the protection is nice. Not to mention, it was 1/3 the cost of the hardshell case.
Great Temporary case.
Great Service from Bart Amburn. Great case for now.
Poor design
This gig bag has no padding on the bottom end, only a thin layer of fabric and then the outer binding on the main seam. We expected this could be a likely failure point because this is where the strap button will rub and put pressure on the end of the bag. Sure enough, after about a month of light use, the strap button put a hole through the end of the bag. Now the fabric is torn all along the bottom seam of the bag. This is a very low end product for which you are paying mostly for the red Fender name.
Great sleek bag!
I'm very happy with this bag for my short scale bass. The layout of the front pocket is well thought out. The bag holds the bass well so it's not flopping around. Bonus it looks great.
Quality gig bag
Fits my Squier Mikey Way bass like a glove. Very happy with this buy.
Too big for Fender PJ Bass
Wish I had found the sizes online before buying the FBSS-610 short scale bass gig bag for my Fender PJ bass because this case is 6" longer and 4.5" wider than the PJ Bass - waaay too big in my opinion. To give some idea, it actually fits my Fender Coronado 12-string hollow body almost perfectly, which is A LOT bigger than a PJ Bass. Weird.
Like a glove
Perfect fit for the Mustang PJ.Good protection and easy to handle. Seeing the Fender logo on anything still gives me a prideful thrill.
Fits Hofner Club bass
I bought this hoping my new Hofner Club bass would fit in it until I can afford a hard case. It fits!
Fits My Ibanez Short Scale Bass Like A Glove
Not much padding here, but a good fit for my Danelectro Baritone
A bit on the low end as far as gig bags go. The stitching seems already, the zippers are good. There isn't much room in the pockets.
Shorter Bass. Longer playing
I love this bass. Great tone, way easier on the hands, versatile, a great buy. Did have someone do minor work adjusting knobs, polishing fret board finish…slight adjustment on action.
Great bass.
DOES FIT A FENDER PLAYER P/J MUSTANG BASS
Decent padded gig bag with a tiny pocket
As a padded gig bag for the price, it's acceptable. The problem is that the pocket is ridiculously small. I can't get two cables and a folder full of lyrics in there. A Snark is a tight fit. Somebody spent more time thinking about making it an interesting shape than about making it useful to the owner.
Disappointing Product
Thin and cheap. Not the kind of quality I expect from Fender, especially at this price point. Fender took a $2 bad and slapped their name on it and --- fifty bucks? My word. The pocket is sewn to make it look larger than it is -- barely holds an instrument cable -- and the fabric is not study. Good for carrying, if the strap doesn't break. This bag won't last long.
