I own 2 for hosting weekly open mics -- always get compliments on the sound
As my title says, I host weekly open mics at a nice, upscale restaurant and brewery. The owner is particular on the sound; it must be crisp and clear, so everyone can hear the details, but without getting too loud. I use one as the stage monitor for the performers and one for the room. I run everything through a board first, so I can EQ individual live inputs, and I studied sound formally, so I know what I am doing, and my take is that these are fantastic at representing the mix. I always get compliments on my sound, and knowing what I am doing helps, but quality equipment is necessary too, and this is as good as anything in its price point. In facet, back when I only had one and realized I needed to bring in a second, I purchased this, a Mackie Thump, and an Alto PA all at the same time, and did test runs at home. The Thump was bass heavy and unbalanced to my ear, not a contender. The Alto and Behringer were equivalent, but the Behringer was about $ less, decision made. Not sure about people saying they are muddy and garbage, maybe they got a bad model, or maybe it's misplaced blame. But if you feed it good signal, it will give you great results.
Read MoreHighly Recommend These
Purchased a pair to begin the upgrade of an archaic church sound system. Replaced a mismatch of really 5 different uncontrollable monitors. It's a small room so the fill in a lot for the still lacking house speakers. It's a room about the size of a gymnasium. I would highly recommend the Behringer Subwoofer or at least one. But if you have a bass or drum machine these don't have a low bottom though they are still good. Just order the Sub today -- tried my home studio sub with the monitors solve all the low problems. These are GREAT for the price.
Great versatility and sound
It does what it's supposed to do, I can hear myself and I like that it has different placement options
Floor or stand
Gig tested
I have used the Beringer F1220D active floor monitor on several gigs now and it does great. The size and light weight compared to other floor monitors are perfect for me to handle and fit in my vehicle. We are a bluegrass/ country/light rock band playing both inside and outside shows. I have not had to turn the monitor up past mid-way. I banjo and electric guitar.
Built for One Man In The Spotlight
The worship team loves them
We did not have the option for the worship team to hear themselves with our antiquated sound system that we used for park worship services. We purchased two monitors - the worship team is beyond thankful.
In addition, customer service from Sweetwater is 2nd to none. You will not go wrong purchasing from them.
Amazing product and amazing team
My sales engineer and the whole team at Sweetwater were so great with this purchase. They reached out several times though the whole process and I couldn't be happier. The monitor itself is also amazing. Great output and frequency range. Currently using in a church setting for our pianists and they all love it. Fantastic purchase and I would definitely recommend. Experiences and customer care like the care shown to me, make me me want to keep buying from Sweetwater instead of Amazon or OEM websites. True care and attention to detail! Thanks so much Jay! God bless and Jesus loves you!
behringer F1220D
great little monitor...I'm a solo artist with a full band sound behind me, and this thing helps a lot...i've only used it on a couple gigs, but my summer is starting to open up, so we will see how it holds up
Garbage
Not good at all. Bad for live performance. Can't compete with amps and PA systems. Worthless.
Not just plug and play
I am not a professional sound tech. Just a volunteer at a small church. I ordered two of these to replace one large monitor that was taking up too much stage space. It has taken quite a bit of "tuning" to get them to sound good. One singer still complains about it.
Total junk
I used F1220Ds for live shows for five years - they were provided by my employer. They were everything the negative reviews say they are: muddy-sounding, prone to experiencing power and volume loss mid-set, strangely high audio latency. And I don't even push much volume through them. Both wedges I used had these issues. They're really the complete package.
I'm temporarily replacing them with ancient Yorkville 50W keyboard wedges until I find something better. At a fith the nameplate wattage, the Yorkvilles sound clearer, more detailed, and louder. I'm kicking myself that I put up with the F1220Ds for so long.
Amazing value for solo or duo acoustic monitoring
I'm not in a band with a drummer or lots of competing instrumentation, though this might (or might not) be helpful for that situation, don't know. What I do know is that for my gigs as a solo acoustic performer, and/or my gigs with my acoustic partner, this floor wedge monitor is amazing. You might find one for ever so slightly less money than its incredibly low price, but why bother at this price point, it is an undeniable value. I run a feed to the 'Line In' (xlr) and it is pristine, balanced, and gets plenty loud. I've gotten to the point where that even when I'm playing acoustic at home by myself to rehearse, I use the Eurolive. 5 stars, easily.
Nice Floor Monitor
We used this floor monitor at our recent gig and it worked great!
Made a world of difference
In my practice room I was using a Behringer B105D for a monitor, and it did OK for its size. I was considering getting another one for gigging. That's when I noticed I was struggling to make out my vocals from the rest of what I had going through my small monitor. My rep, Mike Singer gave me a few suggestions for alternative monitors, one being this Behringer Eurolive F1220D. That made all the difference in the world, and I'm sure it will do just fine for gigs. Plus, even with its 12" speaker, its size is ideal for me as a solo. And being bi-amped was a smart way to make it. I'm very happy with this purchase. The only problem is, now I need one for my practice room!
Long lasting, good sound
I've had one of these for several years. It works great and sounds fine for vocals. We usually only have vocals in the monitors and hear the instruments from the amps. But they are good even for those times when everything is sent through. Plenty loud for us. Priced right and certainly got my monrys worth.
You’ll get MORE than what you pay for
This is an exceptional PA speaker to have around. Small footprint, excellent control for sound dynamics with EQ, and two XLR inputs.
I used this as a monitor for our drummer at a wedding gig. BUT it actually saved the day before the set! There was no mention of needing pre-concert sound outside the venue door but I was able to run a XLR cable outside with a power cable and within 2 minutes, I extended our background music to outside in a last minute pinch. It's small, versatile, and can handle 90% or more on level settings without any distortion or clipping. For what you pay, just buy it. It could be a handy backup or a useful tool.
Behringer F1220D
Great sound reproduction. Clear and punchy with increased power. Lighter weight and smaller footprint than previous models. Without a doubt the best in its price range.
The Behringer Eurolive
The Eurolive is wonderful as a monitor it has great power and acts like a preamp for a line out to a mixer for any live performance. I highly recommend it for any any acoustic instruments or singers.
Excelent Monitors!
Love these little guys - have all the punch we need for a frontline situation.
Works as hoped in the practice studio.
So far it works as hoped. It will be used as a monitor in a small outdoor event in 2 months. I'll know more then. But so far this is how it stacks up for me.
PRO's -- Since I have no EQ on the monitor channel I chose the F1220D because it has the feedback filter and the controls and inputs are on the front. In spite of knowing the dimensions ahead of time it is surprisingly small and light.
Suggested upgrades -- It would be a much better product if .... 1. it was equipped with combi inputs .... 2. it had a switch to to turn the feedback filter off when not needed.
Stopped working but repair would cost more than the unit.
Bought two. One is still OK, fingers crossed. With very limited use, no more than two or three times, the other stopped producing sound. Turned up all of the way you can barely hear it- mic-in or line-in. But after not using the speaker for a while, now the mic-input is always up to 11 and volume control does nothing, but line-in is always still barely audible? So it is not very useful at all, but repair would cost more than the speaker.
Eurolive F122D 250W 12 in floor Monitor
Product arrived quickly and worked as it should. They are just underpowered for a 4 piece rock band. These would be perfect for an acoustic duo or trio. The only other thing I was very disappointed with was when they are hooked up in a series, the first one in the chain is what controls the rest. So it was a great signal with the first, not so much in the second and difficult to hear in the third of the series. Would be fine if each speaker is hooked into it's own output from the mixer I think, or a splitter so that each speaker had it's own volume control. Overall, not a bad product.
Great Addition
I use a powered amp and passive speakers for my live performances. I plugged this into my line out and it works great. Easy to dial in and make sure we hear everything. Great sound and price.
Awesome wedge.
Great little floor monitor with bonus features at an affordable price. Feedback filter works like a charm, sound quality is excellent.
Look closely
I didn't look close enough, and took it for granted there would be 1/4 in jack inputs. If you are accustomed to old style pa, you need balanced XLR.
Nice clean sound, I would buy again.
Works for me
I
I really like the Eurolive monitor. I use two of them as mains in the small venue where I perform. And a third one as a floor monitor. For the money, this monitor delivers just fine for me.
Not for everyone
they have no power. With a full band, you can't hear them; basically useless. These would be fine in an acoustic, karaoke, or a solo artist environment. Do not use these on a stage with a full band, you won't be able to hear them. Also, you can't daisy chain them, which is an obvious problem.
Not Enough Power
Bought these to use a two stage monitors. They are vastly under powered.Had to upgrade to QSC's.
Light Weight and Well Balanced Sound
I bought one a while back, and was very impressed with the clean balanced sound and light weight because I'm getting too old to tote the big stuff. When I saw the reduced price, I had to get a 2nd one to have a stereo pair that makes an easy, light system along with a Yamaha compact mixer w/effects for small gigs when I play guitar thru a small amp and sing with my cajon playing drummer friend. We can mic everything to enhance the sound. Also, excellent monitors if we need the heavy system for large rooms.
Great Amplifier Floor Monitor
These floor monitors have performed very well in outdoor conditions. They are powered monitors, so until someone invents audio consoles with power over XLR, there needs to be additional power cords... Performance was fantastic... Unshielded cables for 25 feet or so will pick up noise that gets amplified. Volume controls for the performer to adjust are nice to take that away from mixing.
These are trash
They didn't work at first, after some tweaking, they worked a little bit, and then they feedback so much we can't use them. Straight garbage. Just don't.
Perfect for singer/guitarists
I play guitar and sing lead in a band and this is perfect. The direct out is ideal (you can control your volume without affecting what goes to the board) and it is plenty loud for as light and portable as it is.
Ethan, my Sweetwater rep, and Justin took EXCELLENT care of me on this and Sweetwater is the only way to go for gigging musicians who use this gear for shows and such and I could not be more impressed with the level of service Ethan provided.
Thanks for being awesome, Sweetwater! (~j in Utah, USA)
Perfect sound for keyboards but needs 1/4 inputs
It really sounds great. But needs guitar cable jacks as well. Then again the male mic xlr may be giving it its good sound and big signal.
Nice sound at a good price
So I was using another Behringer personal monitor that mounted on a mic stand for a few years. After a show I managed to drop it on the floor and poof, no more monitor (my bad really). Well one of my guitar players decided he didn't want a mic stand based monitor and bought this one. AMAZING sound and power. It cuts right through the stage noise and its semi-small footprint doesn't get in the way. It's also a snap to set up. The only negative thing I can say is I wish it came with a cover or case. However, I found a great custom cover maker online and now it's perfect.
Outstanding Monitors!
I bought a pair of these for my band. We gig a fair amount around town including outdoor venues...let me just say that for the money these monitors are fantastic. Light weight, big sound and they have proven durable and reliable. Our band is your typical arrangement of two guitars, bass, drums and two vocals, we use them with and without guitar amps (sometimes we have to go direct in) they sound great either way.
Boooo
Research before you buy!!! Very muted sound unless you have everything turned up to full . They need to add more power and put a higher quality Hi , mine blew, Had to send it back ($48shipment) took a few weeks... got it back....still peaks out on a relatively medium setting, getting rid of it.
Great Monitors!
Just used these for two gigs and they sound great and work well, Small, light and plenty loud for most venues. The front controls and connections make them easy to set up and give each musician control over their monitor volume, tone and feed back issues. And an amazing value at the price.
Solid Stage Monitors for Smaller Venues
This is a fairly good stage monitor, with average loudness and a variety of tone shaping variables. It doesn"t have phantom power, so even with a dynamic mic I would recommend a separate phantom power unit and a Cloudlifter or similar box to grab additional gain for vocals. The speaker is clear and direct, and perfect for use as a personal monitor with an acoustic-electric guitar or similar instruments. The truth is that there aren"t many options for stage monitors in this price range, and this unit will solve most of your needs.
Pretty good actually
I bought 3 of these as stage monitors and for the price they work great. I'm a soundguy and was aiming for a monitor loud enough for small venues <200 people. Any better stage monitor is going to be $700 or more assuming quality is what your after. I run hard rock shows, blues, jazz, pop, folk, country and haven't had a complaint from a musician yet. Buy em
Good clean volume
I bought this unit for an alternate practice location. I paired it with a Mackie mixer and a mini tripod stand and it performs wonderfully. Any reviewer that says it is too quiet must be setting it up wrong. I had more than enough volume running from the mains out on the mixer to the line in on the speaker. I used a balanced 1/4" TRS to XLR cable. The clarity of sound is excellent as well. I will be buying a second one of these.
Seem Like Great Monitors
Just got these, so I haven't tested them "in the field" but did a quick studio test and they sound great. They're rugged and look good as well. Nice low-profile wedge, not too cumbersome. Surprisingly compact for a 12" powered monitor. Will report back after some live gig testing.
Just as a side note: I bought the JBL EON610 bags to go with these since Behringer doesn't make a bag for them. The JBLs are almost a perfect fit and have great padding and strong handles. A nice match with these monitors.
Solid Stage Monitor with Few Frills
This is a solid, well made stage monitor for light to moderate duty. Home studios, jazz clubs, speaking engagements: this would be terrific for those uses. It"s not as loud as I would have liked, but the sound is relatively clear and direct, and the angle of the cabinet works well. The handles make it easy to lift and move, and it"s sturdily constricted. It does not have 48v phantom power, and even with dynamic mics I like to use a cloudlifter or similar power bump for microphones which require 48v phantom power to operate. Overall, this is a nice unit that will work in many locales.
Behringer Eurolive F1220
Have"nt tested for longevity because its fairly new. .Sounds good and has good power. The dial eq is a plus and works just fine.
I use as monitors but also good as front speakers for small gigs.
Great value
Don't expect the sound of Yamaha or Bose but if you want high quality sound and plenty of power this is the choice. We use them as stage monitors and they work flawlessly in that capacity. I already had one and after owning it care free for several years, bought another. Light weight (relatively speaking) and durable. Very happy with mine.
Mity Fine
I haven't used it on a gig yet but from using it for vocals and guitar it sounds real clean and punchy. I like the controls mounted on the front. I have it on a tripod stand next to my acoustic guitar amp and I have line out into it as well my vocals.
The price was nice and it's very compact.

Great little monitor
GREAT MONITOR ! ! ! !
My wife who is singing with a power house 80s band purchased this little guy to save room on the stage and was blown away with the sound. Great monitor....light weight....with easy access to controls. Loves it.
Great monitor
Sounds incredible. Loud and crystal clear tone.
Perfect
This stage monitors turned out to be more than anticipated. Great big sound with adjustment capabilities for the multiple situations for which they are used.
Very VERY poor fidelity
I know this is cheap. But it sounds cheap. Really
Cheap. So bad that, in a loud venue with 85dB of ambient background noise you can still get how boxy and awful it sounds.
I think it"s made to take your mic and then send it elsewhere? How can you explain the lack of 1/4 inputs?
Here"s my humble suggestion: the latest generation of powered PAs are made to work as floor monitors as well. Get one of those instead. Spend the extra money. Avoid this at all costs.
Pretty good
Great addition! Small, compact and the 3 band equalizer is a plus. Very warm sound thanks to the 12 inch spkr.
These are great for a small to medium venue, I wouldnt expect too much if your band is outside and really crankin.
Currently being used inside a studio, but takin them to an outdoor gig in a couple weeks, will update this post.
Overall, excellent sound and great buy for the money.
Powered monitor Speaker
I am so glad I got this monitor speaker. After every show my voice is horse.............For the 1st time I can control my own vocal.
Great Sweetwater Experience!
Excellent product; great price; SUPERB text description and photos to aid in my selection. FAST shipping and super-secure packaging! Couldn't have obtained a better product from better folks for the money! Thanks, Sweetwater!
Good enough and light weight
This is not super loud. If you need that, work on your stage volume. I bought it as a monitor for my acoustic duo, but it turns out to work great for the full band too. It has the controls easy to reach and the sound is good(not great). The angle is great for small stages. However, last night I used it upside down so the angle of the monitor could be set out front and cover two of us more easily. Worked perfect.
The weak parts- *I don't like having the power and input cables attach in front with the controls.
*Not sure the feedback protection works.
*I would rather have a switch than two separate inputs and volume controls for mic and line. I guess that is for practice or coffeeshop set up. What are the chances your guitar and vocals need the same eq though?
Behringer Eurolive F1220D 250W 12" Powered Speaker
Great unit - loud enough for our stage requirements yet fairly small and light to transport. All the controls on the front too!
F1220D
This little Speaker puts out an incredible amount of sound for it's size. I only used 3/4 of it's power for a 50' by 30' room. I put 2 on speaker poles. My board was not topped out which left me extra head room for bring up the leads.
250 watts, on what planet?
When I purchased this monitor, I was hesitant because it was a Behringer - and I should have listened to my gut.
First off, that fuzzy carpet cover (ugh). Seriously? Who does this in 2018?
Secondly, I have to crank the thing all the way up just to get it loud enough for performers to hear it over the mains which are 15 feet away from the stage on either side IN FRONT of the stage.
Thirdly, the sound quality doesn't cut it. This model sounds like one of those Kraiko speakers we had in our cars in the 70's. Zero fidelity and NO punch whatsoever.
Sorry, but for the money - this thing is a total loss for me.
Not for rock bands.
Fine for small venue, acoustic gigs. But if you have drums or electric guitars these speakers will not work well as monitors.
Doesn’t get any better
I originally bought this to use with my Line 6 Firehawk FX and it works great. High quality, great frequency response, high output. Having two separately controlled inputs makes (mic & line) this a great practice tool with my band or an extra monitor live.
Amazing sound from this floor monitor
First time I played my bass out of this active monitor it was amazing. I was having a hard time hearing myself in church pa monitors. I talked to Chris at Sweetwater Music and he was very helpful in getting me in the right monitor that would work for me. I use a Mackie 8 channel mixer and feed my raw signal out of my DI box and then the other bass signal goes straight to the church PA system. I have no problem hearing my bass now.
Well pleased.
Behringer Eurolive F1220D 250W 12" Powered Speaker
from PA to this monitor I use line in. Gives me clean sound and excellent controls. I use the mic input for mic or to just plug my guitar into for small intimate gig. I"m very happy with these, and the price is right!
Lightweight and perfect for the purpose
Mid-Level to Pro Perfection
Behringer eurolive f1220d
Great product for the price work great on stage
Monitors
These Behringer monitors do exactly what I purchased them to do and more. They have enough power to give a great monitor sound on stage and we can use them with our 6 channel mixer in very small venues as a main and a monitor. Very pleased with my purchase.
Sounds great, extra input
This monitor sounds great! 250 watts is plenty got my stage. Crisp and clean over (under) my loud as heck guitar player. I use the extra Mic in with a Mic on my own guitar cab so I can monitor my own sound without turning up stage volume.
Excellent Monitor
I bought this to go along with my pa for a small farmer's market gig. The ability to hear myself onstage either makes or breaks a show, so it was a crucial investment.
The reason I went with this wedge over others is the front panel layout of controls. I knew I'd need to be able to actually monitor the monitor for feedback issues, and this gear did not disappoint.
It is also very lightweight but powerful!
Great Investment
I needed some kind of monitor for my "One Man Show". This seem to have everything I needed. When I first plugged it in I wasn't very impressed, so I burned it in and now It sounds amazing! The first time I used it at a gig it dialed right in. I am now totally impressed.
Awesome!
This speaker is awesome! Sounds great, easy to setup, and perfect for my home studio. I really need the other one, so I'm going for it!
Good sound, but has a catch to be aware of...
250 watts ?
The sound quality was about what I expected it would be but they seriously lack power , even for a single 12" speaker. 250 watts ..,,,,really ? I can only imagine that this would be a cool powered monitor if your neighbor owned it and you hated his musical preferences. You can almost carry on a normal conversation while standing in front of it with the output on ten.
So , out I go hunting for another powered monitor.
However , Sweetwater staff was nice and very helpful .
eurolive monitor
very happy with this item perfect for my studio
Fantastic
These little guys really sound great. We have 5 of these at our church and the serve us well. They are small, light, and easy to move around and hide. But they pack a punch!
Nice compact monitor!
This fit the bill for what I needed! Very versatile, compact, and great sound!
Behringer Eurolive F1220D 250 W 12" Powered Speaker
I finally got a chance to use the Unit a few times since I purchased it. I was very impressed with the sound quality and power of this Speaker System. I'm very well satisfied with the output of the microphone, and the clean sound after hooking my computer to this System. I would give it a 5 Star.
Perfect for practice, small gigs
Great for band practice - works for keys, vocals, electric drums, etc.
Individual volumn is nice as a monitor
This monitor was purchased to be used as a floor monitor during live performances, it is fantastic for that. It can also be used as a stand alone PA system if need be. Plenty of power and good controls. The shape is actually very useful for all kinds of applications. Sweetwater's Jeff Bohan was awesome suggesting these to go with my new StagePass i400. It matches just right!
Powered monitor
Absolutely love it just had practice and the eq and feedback filter work great to adjust for any environment on stage.thanks Sweetwater for the fast and free shipping, great product would buy another one if I needed one.
just what we needed
Lightweight, big sound these Behringer powered monitors deliver. 6 pc Zydeco band we bought 2, i could use another one for the drummer. We try to keep a low stage volume so they dont have to work that hard, but we just did 2 outdoor gigs and they performed well..
Underpowered
Dull sounding and underpowered. Not up to the task for classic rock cover band. I realize you get what ypu pay for and they are certainly low priced.
Great Power, performance, size and price
I'm really happy and surprised with this monitor. Having the options to equalize is perfect for my set up. The power is very good without distortion. The size is also perfect, it's not heavy and doesn't take up alot of room on stage or in my vehicle. I can also get some pretty impressive depth from it.
Great Monitor
I was blown away at the sound and quality of this little monitor. I've even used it for small solo gigs as a main. The only drawback is that it only has XLR input/outputs. I don't understand why they couldn't put a XLR combo jack in. Or just use a 1/4 inch. After all, most anyone using this is going to have a mixer with a 1/4 inch monitor output. That's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me.
Amazing speakers!
The monitors were used by our choir to perform at a local nursing home. Even though the area was relatively large, the power was set less than the third indicator and it supplemented the new sound system. Clear, powerful, excellent value and investment for our church.
Great Monitor
I play out in a classic rock type band. Just joined these guys and they're using all powered monitors ( I only had a passive one) took a chance on an opened box/returned one for 166. Not a scratch on it. It gets plenty loud. I'm at around a little more than half way up, I stand next to the drums, it sounds great. I also was suprised at how small and light it is. Bonus!
Excellent monitor value
I have five of these for acoustic music on stage monitoring. (Folk, Bluegrass, singer/songwriter, etc.) Easy to carry, easy to set up. Wonderful volume and eq control for slight individual adjustment by the on stage musician. I have read of others having thermal issues and decreased volume levels after long term use. I have had no such issues. I do not drive these hard due to the style of music that I am generally setting up sound for. I use these in conjunction with an XR-18 Air and love the set up. Sweetwater always delivers with the best service in the industry. If you use these monitors for the proper setting, (not trying to use them in a very loud stage environment) you will be very pleased with the sound and ease of use.
Thermal issue
Best Bang for The Buck
Outstanding product. performs like a much more expensive monitor. Multi use can be used as a small sound system as well. Definitely a quality and welcome addition to my sound equipment.
F1220d
Great monitor. Love it.
Bummer Speakers
Bought 6 of these with my XAir XR18. Great size, My PA fit in my Toyota Corolla. Beautiful little monitor. Only had one small problem... Not enough sound to hear them when used as a stage monitor. Did 3 gigs and they only were acceptable at the acoustic set outdoors. As soon as the drums, guitars, keyboards and sax started to play, you couldn't hear the monitors.
Ended up returning them. Too bad, a great idea. replaced with a pair of VP1220d and my lead singer loves me again
powered monitors
I have 5 of them an I love them . I use them with my X32 console
