Peavy Escort 3000

By Bonnie Parrish from Gadsden, Alabama on July 17, 2018 Music Background: Gospel group

Couldn't have asked for anything better. Had a Escort 2000. Lasted for about 10 years. This one should last even longer. Amazing!! Thank you Sweetwater.

Ideal for classroom

By Sweetwater Customer on November 17, 2017 Music Background: School band director

I am a school band director. I have had this for 5 years and use it almost daily, and it has not let me down yet. Great sound, plenty of volume, very portable. If mine ever died, I would get another one of the exact same model without hesitation. Not sure what else I can say.

Great Sound System!

This system is great for small to medium size venues. It is easy to set up and take down and is very portable. Being able to have all our backing tracks on a Flash Drive is a major plus and eliminates the need to carry CD's.

One option we would have liked to see is an AUX Line output to connect to additional power amps for floor monitors.

compact and powerful

By musicman from southern indiana on June 5, 2017

I used this small package in a duo playing inside and out and it performed flawlessly. It is easy to use and the quality of sound is amazing and what you would expect from peavy. The only issue I had with it was the latches, they don't seem to latch all the time but very minor issue. That is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Portable?

By J. Walter Hawkes from Long Island City, NY on May 20, 2016

Note, the unit I'm reviewing is an earlier 3000 that did not have the digital features that this new one has...
and it did have aux outs.

I've had my 3000 for a long time... I want to say a decade, but I'm not sure. I'll say this.... it's always sounded great and it still works. It has provided all the power I've needed in 90% of the situations...and that 10% where it didn't, the venue should have provided sound reinforcement. I've used it mostly with a jazz combo with vocals... when I've had to put the bass in it, it was fine.

However, my beef is with the "portability" aspect. If you're 4' tall or less, it's probably fairly comfortable to wheel around... otherwise, you're bent over trying to wheel it. This thing is murder on your back. While you're more than welcome to judge my general intellect, I felt it takes an engineering degree to put all of the stands back in the case in a way where it will close properly. After a years of improper packing, one of the clips broke off. I've held the thing together with rope lately.

While it's neat to be able to put the thing up on a stand for easy access to the mixer... the mixer with all that added plastic is BIG, and seems to be wasted space. Sure, it's cool to store things, but when you're actually using the mixer, that extra space it takes up can be an issue in certain tight situations.

Perhaps my vote against the Peavey 3000 is a more general vote against the "all in one" portable PA packages...(though I'll admit the Fender ones, though somewhat underpowered, I've had a better time getting around with.)

I think if you're looking for a PA with modest power and easy portability, you're better looking at a package that's in separate parts. Yeah, it might be more trips to the car, but your body, which you're already beating to a pulp being a working musician, will appreciate it.
