Catalinbread Epoch Bias Boost, Overdrive, and Preamp Pedal
Catalinbread Epoch Bias Boost, Overdrive, and Preamp Pedal Reviews
Bigger, fuller, and livelier tone put Catalinbread’s original Epoch Boost pedal on the map— and now the company returns with a fresh iteration, the Epoch Bias pedal! The Epoch Bias models a legendary EP-3 unit’s preamp with all of the Epoch Boost’s reverent sonic detail. Catalinbread then adds new controls: a wide-ranging high-cut filter and a Bias control. The high-cut filter facilitates tasty tone refinements, and Sweetwater guitarists find it an invaluable option when frequently changing guitars or running long signal chains. The Bias control behaves almost like a gain knob, thus remedying the fixed gain structure of the vintage EP-3. Together with familiar Preamp and Boost parameters for skyscraping headroom and pristine buffering, the new controls found on the Epoch Bias deliver ultra-versatile boost and preamp options, not to mention fine-tuned color enhancement that readily takes the sound of any pickup, amplifier, or effects chain from good to great.
what is the impedance of the buffer?
Either Sweetwater or Catlinbread is seriously lacking in providing essential detail as to quality of this unit (or any other for that matter). If you are claiming something is a "buffer", then pray tell what is the in/out impedance of said buffer? It makes a solid difference as to how good "the buffer" actually is and if you will not say then that speaks volumes....
I still have much love for my old Xotic EP Booster if this is going to offer a replacement I need to know the impedance.
