Soundtoys EchoBoy Analog Echo Plug-in Reviews

Why did I wait so long to get this plugin? For the longest, I was using Repeater by Slate Digital but got tired of playing for a monthly subscription. Out of that plugin bundle, Repeater was only the plugin I was really using. Repeater is a fantastic plugin as well. I still may get it if it ever goes on sale.

After canceling my Slate subscription, I was left with using Waves H-Delay and the stock delay plugins in Nuendo. That was okay for a little bit but one night when mixing some rap vocals, I hit a limit with those delay plugins. Out of curiosity, I went to the website of Sweetwater to look at Echoboy, and I wasted no time purchasing it.

I can do things with EchoBoy that I couldn't do with other delay plugins. If you don't have EchoBoy, you are missing out.

This is the industry standard. Best on the market. You can do your research, and you'll see this consistently listed as the best delay plugin. You essentially get 30 delay types. Way more than any other plugin I've used, tried, or demoed. Some sell just 1 type of delay for half the price of this one, so you get a lot for the money. It was a huge upgrade from my stock delay and modulation plugins. This is a steal and worth it! This does tape, analog, digital delay, chorusing, and way more fx. It can be a simple quick delay or a fully customizable delay for all sorts of effects. No iLok dongle needed, just open an ilok account. Easy to do. Amazing plugin

Wonderful plugin, Soundtoys EchoBoy, always love Sweetwater for their great staff of people, and of course, for being such a longtime great music store!

So I have been going through a lot of my old WAVES plugins in regards to finding a solid delay and reverb.
This does both very extensively and is loaded w/ tons of presets. I slapped this on my main vocal and set the slap delay at 1/32 and w/ 50% wet and it sounds amazing. I used the Reverb setting w/ a 1/32 note and it gave it the perfect reverb and slap delay sound that I was looking for! It made the vocals bigger, wider and more colorful. Not to mention the delay/echo feature on my automation aux tracks are fire. Im sold.

This plugin was recommended to me by an industry pro, and it definitely is one of those plugins that will find its way into every mix. The features that differentiate between good plugins that sit on the shelf and the industry standard plugins is the overall plugin quality, and a time-saving and intuitive workflow design.

You can spend a lot of time tweeking custom delays and echos with various standard delay plugins, or you could quickly scan through the very usable Echoboy presets and dial them in quickly. Groove controls give you a creative edge that opens up infinite possibilities.

You get both Echoboy and Echoboy Jr with this license, and both are solid performers.

i literally downloaded this less than ten minuets ago, for the black friday deal...i am freaking blown away. i just slapped it on a random old vocal i had and skimmed through the presets, and its more than just the delay, there is an amazing color to it as well, my original vocal take sounded very good, now it sounds like freddy mercury on a radio song or something. hands down the best plug in i have ever bought, and thats with 10ish mins of goofing with it. i will likely never use another delay plug in again. wow.

Don"t miss this one... love this delay,great sound,super flexible. Loads of presets that I"ll surprise you, use em as is or for an excellent starting point.

Best Sounding delay I have ever heard.

having been a fan of wave h delay for its simplicity, I decided to try out this product to see if there was truly a difference in sound or quality. While I wont say the difference is tremendous, there is a slight bit more character within this Echoboy than the emulation of the h delay plug in, both are very good, however, this plug in talks the cake for its flexibility in options of types of delay and wonderful combinations you can discover

This is the ideal echo plugin for me. So many possibilities.

This plugin has a musical quality and warmth only achieved with analog equipment It is amazing wow is the way to go there is no way back that set is my favorite plug in regarding delay effects.

Bottom line....This plug-in is the Shiz !!! Top notch quality and major useability....Get it !!!

I was looking for an Echoplex plug-in and found it. Then I searched around a little more and found Echoboy from SoundToys. Wow, this thing is great! Not only can you get echoplex settings but GREAT chorus, flange, some verbs, high and low pass filters with all types of variation and control. Doesn't cost very much. Get it, you won't be sorry. I haven't even scratched the surface of this and it already has made me sound tons better.

A lot of promotion to a plugin with nothing new or different from other delay in the market, one more delay in my collection of plugins, usable.

Provides nice echo effects and other time based effects.
I had big trouble loading due to iLok issues, but finally got it resolved, then loaded software.
A software version of an echoplex sort of, with more options.
If your DAW needs an echo, this is the program!
