Toontrack Latin Cuban Percussion EZX Expansion Reviews
Tailor-made as a counterpart to the Latin Cuban Drums EZX, Toontrack’s Latin Cuban Percussion EZX is essential for creating Latin-inspired music. This cache of traditional Latin and Cuban percussion was captured at Sear Sound Studios in New York by Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated engineer Dave Kowalski and prominent Latin percussionist Richie Flores — one of the most in-demand percussionists out there. This expansion pack has it all — congas, timbales, bongos, guiros, shakers, woodblocks, cowbells, and a whole lot more. Complete with MIDI performed by Richie Flores, Latin Cuban Percussion EZX contains the Latin-flavored accents you need to create Latin and Cuban music.

Add Spice to Your Mix
This EZX is so different from others, it's hard to describe. Trying to recreate the fine nuances of dozens of percussion instruments is a huge undertaking and Troontrack has done an admirable job. The samples are very good and there are plenty of instruments to use in a variety of song styles. With this EZX, it's easy to create a percussion track and add it to your project.
The MIDI files aren't arranged by song part like other EZXs but rather by instrument, and the MIDI collection is huge. I was disappointed at first that there weren't more grooves with multiple instruments but in this EZX, you can choose beats from different instruments and layer them to create your own groove. You can make a groove as simple as a pair of bongos or as thick as 20+ percussion instruments battling it out at the same time. After figuring this out, I have a much deeper appreciation for how versatile this EZX is.
I highly recommend this EZX for anyone who's interested in adding percussion to their songs. I also recommend the companion Latin Cuban Drums EZX, as these two were made to work together.
