Best strings ever!
A pro since 1965, I've probably tried every brand of guitar strings imaginable. For me. DAddario strings click all the boxes! The longevity is unbelievable retaining brilliance and sustain for a long time. You can't go wrong... trust me on this!
My Gold Glory Les Paul loves em!
Great strings! I run these on my Epiphone Jared James Nichols Gold Glory Les Paul Custom. 9s on that guitar are just too light and it loses its mojo. It had a wrap tail piece like a les Paul Junior. So the 10s are perfect for that guitar. These balanced tension sets rock! The way they feel under the fingers and the evenness they provide from string to string just feels right. The treble strings bend like they should. The low strings have the balls you need to lay into the guitar without going out of tune! Great strings!
These are my favorite strings for electric guitar
I have these on all my electrics (except the jazz box which has labellas on it) because I love the even tone and smooth feel that they have. Strats, Shredders, Teiscos, this set does it all wonderfully. 10s are a nice balance between stiffness and playability. I don't understand why other string manufacturers don't make balanced tension sets like these, they're just the best.
The best feeling string!
I"ve been using these for a couple of years now. I switched over to D"Addario"s because I kept breaking Ernie Balls. Not only do I hardly ever break a string anymore, but I also love the feel and tuning stability of the D"Addario"s. The balanced tension set has made all of my guitars feel great, and really consistent. Definitely worth trying out.
D'Addario does it again !
I have been a D'Addario user for years and these balanced tension sets are excellent. They give a more even feel across the board, they're quicker, and give you more control over your bends ! I would recommend these to any guitarist. It doesn't matter what style or genre of music you play, these strings are excellent !
An Excellent String Set
I can't say that the balanced tension is that big of a deal to me "under the fingers", but I have very large and strong hands, so I should probably be playing 11's anyway; at least on my 24.75" scale guitars. I do like the idea of balanced string tension, though, especially as it regards the forces at work on the guitar itself. People have been using "unbalanced tension" string sets since the invention of stringed instruments, so there's clearly no reason to think that it has an adverse affect on the instrument. I just don't know why all string sets haven't been put together as "balanced tension" sets ever since we've been able to calculate the tension of each string. It should be the rule, not the exception, at least in my mind.
Give them a try, you may or may not notice much of a difference in feel, but you likely won't be disappointed by D'Addario strings in general. I've been extremely happy since I switched to them a few years ago. Cheers!
What EXL110s should have been
I've tested these strings over a period of ~5 months or so, swapping between them and the original D'Addario EXL110s. After this whole testing period, I can say that the Balanced Tension set feels practically identical to the EXL110s, with a few exceptions: the tension IS definitely more even across all the strings, but if you look at the tension chart D'Addario has online, the difference between the originals and the BTs is very subtle. This isn't a drastic difference in tension, so it's kind of hard to notice. That said, I have found it very slightly easier to, for example, tremolo pick from string to string, as the strings have a more even "rebound", more in line with one another. It is also a bit easier to bend from string to string, but the high E remains stiff as all hell (it seems a bit easier to bend than the original set, but that could be my imagination). It feels, well, more balanced, but in a very subtle way. Otherwise, they have the same tone, same consistency, and the same good intonation as the original set. I wouldn't go as far as saying that these are the strings you'll fall in love with; rather, these are the strings you'll wish you had been playing all along.
melts in your hand......
been using them all my guitar life
Good strings
So far so good. They seem to stay in tune and have a nice biting sound to them.
D'ADDARIO EXL110BT
Am using these on my new Johnny A Epiphone semi-acoustic electric and they add more depth and tone vs. the 9.5-44 sets I am used to for other guitars. As a result I bought 3 more sets. Recommended for getting deeper fuller tones if desired.
