Epiphone Casino Worn Hollowbody - Worn Ebony Reviews
Since 1961, the Epiphone Casino has been a rock ’n’ roll standard. Though it was wielded most famously by The Beatles, this legendary hollowbody electric guitar also found its way into the hands of blues legend Howlin’ Wolf, along with Keith Richards, Dwight Yoakam, Gary Clark Jr., and a host of others throughout its storied history. The Casino Worn’s hollow laminate maple body elicits a warm, yet snappy sound, while its head-turning New Worn finish re-creates the feel of a well-played vintage instrument. Benefit from supreme comfort, thanks to this guitar’s ’60s "C"-shaped mahogany neck, while a 12-inch-radius Indian laurel fingerboard ensures slick playability. Experience superb tone, courtesy of a set of Epiphone PRO P-90 single-coil pickups, which range from a chimey jangle to an unmistakable bark, depending on how hard you hit them. If you’re hungering for classic rock ’n’ roll hollowbody vibes, the Casino Worn is guaranteed to satisfy your cravings.

What an outstanding guitar,I mean i don't know what Epiphone is doing but i hope they keep doing it.I bought this guitar not really sure if i was going to like it or not but let me tell you right now i would buy this guitar again and again. The playability is AWESOME.The neck is comfortable and the action is super smooth. As far as looks are concerned, well I LOVE THIS GUITAR,hands down. The sales staff and everyone at Sweetwater are totally awesome.I recieved the guitar within a few days of ordering it.Can't say enough about this guitar but i would definitely buy it again.Thanks.
Great Guitar for the price
Just received my Epiphone drab olive casino. Came in excellent condition. No issues - with frets - setup is superb! Not one buzz up and down the neck! Great job - Sweetwater!
This guitar is unbeatable at its price point!
A great deal but needs a little work
I bought one of these a few months ago and as long as you know up front that you're going to put more dollars into it to make it really playable, then you're fine.
I've had a local Luthier change the synthetic nut to a hand made bone one, the bridge was replaced to take away the rattles and have much more adjustment capability, the tuning pegs to a better set and to also set the guitar up.
The Casino plays great now and stays in tune. The pickups are fine and so is the build quality. The hardware is lacking. It's what you get for $.
For my personal preference only I changed the pickguard to black and the knobs and switch top to black as well. I bought a plain black truss rod cover also. I'm proud to own an Epiphone but the logo is gaudy. The Epiphone across the top is enough.
So I now have another $ in the guitar and frankly this Casino is a really fine playing guitar for $ plus the $ case.
Too Much Fun!
After checking out a Worn Casino at the local big box store, I wasn't overly impressed. Missing a string and in need of a proper setup, but something about the weight, that unplugged sound, the P90 growl that hooked me.
So once I saw they were back in stock I jumped on it. Then off to the "Sweet Shop" for a bone nut, plek and setup. I don't consider this level of setup excessive. I would have used my local luthier anyway, although his fret ends are meticulously polished. But as for the excessive, I haven't done this many mods on a guitar in twenty years. A poor investment, but so worth it! The Fralin P-90s, smoked the stock pickups, but that's not a fare comparison, the stock pickups are good respectable P-90s
As primarily a vocalist, I haven't been this enamored about a guitar in a long time. Anything that inspires you to play and practice is money well spent. This thing is turning into my #1 and there are a couple of Tele's that are now jealous.
Thanks Nick for all your help these past years.
Did I mention I was not overwhelmed with the finish? :) -1 Star
Decent Guitar - Definitely not perfect or high end
First - the new PRO pickups sound really good. The guitar is alright but Epiphone cheaped out on some of the hardware. The bridge rattles, the nut is very cheap, the toggle switch is crap, and the tuners aren't great. It's a budget friendly guitar for sure. But, it plays alright regardless and has the sound and look you may be looking for. If you are decent at setups and okay with investing ~$100 in materials this could be a killer deal. I love the finish and the normal width neck on these models compared to the glossy ones.
