Good mic, bad AT connector

I wasn't quite sure how many stars to give this because there was good and bad, so read on to see why I chose 2 stars.

The mic itself is really good. The boom/ear loop and cable are thin and light enough that it stayed in place for without the need for tape. This speaker was turning his head some and walking around, but no major or sudden movement. The sound quality and pickup were good as well.

The problem was with the Audio-Technica compatible connector. It appeared to be a cheaper version of the Hirose connector than what AT uses. The walls of the locking ring were thinner, the inner cylinder was slightly smaller, and the metal contacts were not visible in the pin holes. When connected to our ATW-T210 transmitter pack, any bumping of the connector caused popping and crackling. I verified that it was not the wire or the connector at the headset by pressing firmly against the side of the Hirose connector and wiggling the cable by each connector. There was no popping or crackling. However, if I bumped or wiggled the Hirose connector itself, the problem occured. We don't have any other transmitter pack, so I was not able to test the other connectors.

I returned this mic and we will try something else.

Great value good quality

Great value and good quality earworn mic. The package comes with the adaptors for most of the major body pack transmitters. I am highly satisfied with the quality of the sound for the price.
