Epiphone Riviera Semi-hollowbody - Sparkling Burgundy Reviews
Favored by players like Jorma Kaukonen, Nick Valensi, Robben Ford, and Noel Gallagher, the Epiphone Riviera features a resonant semi-hollow body, along with a sustain-inducing center block. You’ll appreciate how comfortable this semi-hollowbody electric guitar’s rounded C-shaped mahogany neck is, while its 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard supplies you with fleet-fingered playability. Plug the Riviera into your favorite guitar amplifier, and you’ll be greeted by gorgeous, vintage-inflected tones via dual PRO mini humbuckers. The Riviera boasts a host of high-end details, including a rich-sounding Graph Tech NuBone nut, super-stable Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners, and a rock-solid LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge. A supremely balanced Frequensator tailpiece and an eye-grabbing pickguard with a foil-emblazoned “E” logo complete the Epiphone Riviera.

Plays as well as she looks. Just a gorgeous guitar.
I bought my Riviera two or three years ago. I have the P93 model with the Bigsby tremelo bar. I've always been a Les Paul guy but this guitar has me playing her everyday! It handles like a dream. The neck is perfect for my arthritic hands. I have no complaints. I've easily got thousands of hours on this guitar and have never had any issues.. I love the Riviera.
Epiphone Riviera
Love the finish and tone. The output jack kept getting loose and falling inside the body. The nut just would not stay tight. I finally soldered on a new jack and all is well. Beautiful axe, plays well.
Exactly what I was looking for
I've been a fan of The Strokes for a while now, so when I saw this Riviera I just had to have it. It came very well set up and only needed minor adjustments. Pickups are great, they really give that indie sound I was looking for. The neck and frets all feel superb, super easy to play. It plays like a dream and sounds like it too! Also a big thanks to my sales engineer Jack for getting me all situated!
Incredible value.
First thing I noticed right out of the box was the finish. Beautiful burgundy metallic-just gorgeous. Plugged her in and was super pleased with the sound. I use a Fender '65 reissue Princeton Reverb amp. The mini humbuckers ring like a bell. Compared to the full-sized humbuckers on my Gibson 335's, the mini's sound, to my ear, a little cleaner, albeit with less output signal strength. Now to the value! I've owned Gibson 335's costing up to seven times more than this Riviera. This Riviera is as good as any of my Gibson 335's. It's a solid value and I would recommend it without reservation. Plus, as always, Sweetwater service rocks!
Great guitar
Finish is impeccable. Set up fairly well out of the box, but the intonation wasn't as good as it could have been. Bridge height, neck relief and nut slots all within acceptable tolerance. A joy to play. No fret sprout nor tooling marks on fret ends, but fret tops were a little scratchy. This improved significantly with an hour or so of play-in time and no supplemental polishing. Electronics all work as they should. Tuning keys remarkably smooth and sensitive. Extremely happy with the guitar and with the purchase experience. And happy I got the last one Sweetwater had in stock.
