This is the fussiest speaker on the planet. Hard to get it to work with any setup. The sound isn't the best either. Don't throw your $$ away

Great sound using a microphone, guitar and drum machine. Being able to set anywhere is huge.

I own a couple tower/line array systems but this little unit gets used a lot more often than I thought it would.

I play in small venues with a small sound system that is battery powered so I don't need power cords and to look for electric outlets. This little JBL EON is a perfect battery powered monitor. I like that it's small and light. It's a great powered speaker!

The reason was not just the music, but it was also the speaker and P.A. systems. On one end you had Sears Silvertone and at the other end you had JBL and Electravoice. Both produced good sound, but the favorite, even then was JBL. The sound was perfection. In 2026 that hasn't changed. and the EON One Compact, battery operated PA Speaker is no different...with the exception that is is much smaller, and much sharper, and lighter and all around better sounding than anything else on the market. Nothing compares to the clarity and over-all balance and tone of this Speaker. Nothing!

I have been using the speaker for the past two weeks. It has a lot of sound for speaker that small. The app to basically run the speaker, is glitchy and not easy to use. It took awhile to have all parts of it functional. Ease of use is not what they accomplished. I think I'm not the only one that has complained about it.

Many reviewers had problems with the bluetooth and the app. I found it very reliable. After using this speaker for over six months I started having problems with it when I turned the unit on. Very tinny sounding as if the tweeter was the only speaker engaged. After powering the unit off and then turning it back on it started working properly. I have to do this about 50% of the time in order to use the speaker. Sweetwater's tech support was very helpful and they sent my an RA number and said that they will repair the speaker. The problem is that I play many high profile private events that sometimes do not have power, so I will have to either purchase or try to borrow another battery powered speaker while this one is being repaired, not to mention the cost of shipping and the hassle. I do appreciate Sweetwaters customer service. They are the best.

I needed a battery powered speaker that I could play my guitar and sing. I am a minister of a church and I have been doing more and more venues that I am asked to sing and play as well as officiate. This little speaker does the job and sounds great I am not disappointed and use it for blue tooth as well at home. I am totally sold on this for portability and sound quality. This JBL unit has it all: 3 inputs; Phantom power on mic 1, 12 volt USB power (for my Shure wireless receiver); and Bluetooth control app for my iPhone & iPad.
It's light and easy to carry and setup.
Not only all that but it also sounds great -- not excessively loud but great!
My only wish is that I could see the control settings in bright light (outdoor) conditions.

I purchased my JBL EON One Compact in December of 2023 when they were on sale for $. I watched every Youtube video and read every review available on the EON one compact. I read about the Bluetooth issues, the power switch problem with breaking and the dislike for the control pots. I needed Phantom Power for my Ear Trumpet mic, and the App looked pretty good.

So, I ordered a JBL EON One Compact and backpack bag from Sweetwater. Once I gave it a Master reset and updated the Firmware, it has worked flawlessly. I like the delayed on/off switch. I like the controls. I like that it saves your App settings when it's turned off. I've used it indoors and outside. The recent Firmware updates have increased the Bluetooth stability and made the EON One Compact a stable and reliable speaker.

Hey there! I bought one of these and immediately sent it back because the app that is supposed to control the speaker is horrendously bad at doing just that! The on/off button is very aggravating! You have to hold it for 6-8 seconds for it to actually come on, which doesn't seem like a long time UNTIL you are doing it! Sound quality is pretty good, so if ya don't care about having remote access to the mixer features and a very slow on/off switch then you might be ok with this. I was not. I bought the Bose S1 Pro Plus instead. It works perfectly!

As always, I am first and foremost, very pleased with the service, the prices, and the quick shipping from Sweetwater. As far as this JBL rechargeable speaker that I got, it exceeded my expectations. The clarity of high tones and low tones, and the volume in which that clarity can be projected suitable for just about any small to medium venue. Sweetwater has been and will continue to be my go to for any of my music and musician needs. This JBL is a definite recommendation and buy through Sweetwater. They follow up and make sure you're happy with every detail of your experience.

This thing is frustrating to use, if I'm being honest. I also have the JBL PRX One Column speakers…and while those controls are a little bit quirky as well they are much more usable and reliable than this thing is.

The controls on this thing are not intuitive. Using it as a monitor is frustrating because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Often times, when I am using an input for a microphone...I have to turn it off and turn it back on to reset it or get it to recognize an input...otherwise all the knobs are cranked to 10 and it sounds like it's on 2

I love the Bluetooth connectivity…and I love the portability of size. I just hate not knowing whether this thing is gonna work the way it should when I go to use it. I now use it as an outdoor speaker or portable speaker on my Pontoon Boat.

This is the most outstanding PA speaker ever. I have over 50 years experience trying to get a sound system to work in a small venue and JBL comes with this 14 pound speaker with a audio mixer built in and it runs on a battery! This is incredible to me. The sound quality is terrific and the output volume is unenviable for the size of the unit and you can run it from your iphone, etc...I give this one a five star PLUS. Gook Job - JBL...

I have had two live performances messed up due to this contraption. While it does have knobs they don't produce the sound modification— it's way WAY TOO brassy. using Bluetooth is the only to get a decent sound the app is weak and I do not want to play with this crap Bluetooth app. Also it has a very strange power button that doesn't respond at first. About 50% of the time I have to restart it because it doesn't get working — it has a tinny weak signal unless I restart. And the Bluetooth app will time out in the middle of the gig too. I really miss my Mackie and other simpler devices. Save your mental anguish with the Bluetooth feature and just get a small roland kc150- best deal for the money with simple REAL knobs!!

So first off let me say I have been in the DJ Business since 1986 so I have purchased thousands of dollars' worth of high-end sound equipment during that time. I purchased these JBLEON One speakers thinking that they would be a nice quality small great sounding battery powered blue-tooth speaker which I could easily set out on the deck. back yard, or on the pontoon boat. I have had these speakers for almost 5 months now and I absolutely hate them! The fact that they will not work without the JBL phone app is only the beginning of the trouble and disappointment I am experiencing. I have found that every time I want to use these speakers I have to reset them and turn them off, and then I have to unpair them from my phone, and then I have to turn off the blue tooth on my phone and then turn the speakers on which requires holding each button down for several seconds and then turn the blue tooth back on on my phone and pair up with the first one of the two that shows up and then open the JBL app and link up with the other one on that and then have that app pair up with the other one and if there is an update you're screwed and have to start the entire process over again and well it takes like 45 minutes every time at least to get them working and that is if you're sober. They sound great when they are working but they SUCK!! getting to that point! I HATE them!! I really would like my money back! So I could purchase the EV version of these which does not need the app to use. But I guess I'm stuck with them until I get so mad I throw them in the lake. I hope you all don't waste your money and make the same mistake.

Sales reps was great but didn't know that Android does not work with this speaker. Such a shame. Gonna return it and get one that is compatible.

So, I recently purchased 2 of these JBLEON Compact portable blue tooth speakers thinking that they would be an awesome sounding speaker to drag around in the back yard, or throw on the pontoon boat, or the SXS UTV, but I was truly disappointed in what I got for my money. 1. They are not very loud. 2. They can only be used with the JBL app on your phone as there is no app for your laptop. 3. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get these speakers setup with the app and playing music each time, you use them. Overall, I just avoid using them and they set around collecting dust now. I wish I would have gone with EV's version of these instead. I talked to a JBL tech about my dislikes especially that I can't use them with my laptop, and he said they were working on an app but did not know when it might be available. So, I just do not recommend these at this time for purchase.

I am new to PA systems. I have never thought about needing one. I have not used it out of the home yet. Since I never used a PA system before, it is a slight learning curve but it is awesome to have a system all in one. So far I like the system, but the reason I give it four stars is I don't like how the knobs do not have a stopping point. I am used to knobs stopping. I understand that there is a light that surrounds the knob but I am used to something being more concrete as starting and stopping point.

Total let down of the power of this unit compared to others in its class.

I was excited to try this speaker for my DJ business for a mobile PA system to use for ceremonies. I own a pair of Bose S1 Pros, but these had more channels, more EQ options, and better bass extension……..on paper.

First off, it looks like a toy. Something about the plastic and grill, it looks cheap, and I'm not the only one who said so. What adds to this is that the green LED's on the side indicating battery and knob settings, very toy-ish.

Piggybacking off that, the LED bezels around the knobs are SUPER hard to read. Instead of having them notched or separated, the plastic blurs the LED's underneath in such a way you can't really know what percentage your volume or EQ is at. That is a HUGE issue for my application when trying to match 2 speakers for a stereo pair.

Just use the app though right? Sure…….if THAT worked. Most of the time only one of the speakers will show up in the app, and I was resetting the other 4 or more times before it showed up.

Resetting is surprisingly tasking, because the power button doesn't give you much indication on how long to hold it, I think it's like 3 seconds to power on or off? But the speaker delays it even further from there. You hold the power button for 3 seconds, but then it sits another few seconds before it powers up. Why not a good ol' switch or button?

The Bluetooth is AWFUL on these, I've never had any device have such a terrible time with Bluetooth. Even a single unit will have lag and FF the track to catch up, and does it consistently. Forget pairing them in stereo mode……just don't bother. Even IF both speakers showed up in the app, the music didn't play correctly anyways!

The speaker pole mount is also loose, at least on my stands. They're not snug at all meaning these can swivel really easily, and they don't look super straight on the stand, slightly crooked. What a silly issue to have nowadays.

And now for sound quality. I did a comparison between my Bose S1 Pros and these, and it was not even a contest. On paper, the JBL's should win out. They don't, not even in the same realm. These JBL's are WILDLY quieter than the Bose, they're slightly less powerful in wattage, but the actual output feels like they're half as powerful. Seriously, these were so quiet in comparison. Also, if you have ANY bass boosted on these, which you will want because they're quite honky without it, the main fader peaks out at a surprisingly low volume. I had both of these going, peaking out, in my living room, and I would have barely called it loud music in my own house. 0 confidence these would deliver for an outdoor event.

Not only that, these things have serious articulation problems. Again, when comparing to the Bose, these just muddled all the mids and highs together. The track in question had a lot of layers, electric and acoustic guitars, strings, tons of background vocals, and all those just got completely muddled together. You couldn't hear any of the consonants on the bg vox, the strings were just blended entirely into the acoustic guitar, and there was no high articulation on any of them. And what of the extra bass extension? Not clean at all. The Bose have punchier, more articulate bass as well. Doesn't even matter if the JBL's go lower if the whole speaker sounds that much worse.

The ONLY benefit I see for this speaker over the Bose, in my case, is that the battery life gauge is easier to see. Otherwise, this falls short on every account. And I wanted these to be good, I really did. But I had to return both after putting them through their paces.

Again, JBL has blown it. Just as they did with the JBL PRX ONE that I ended up returning to Sweetwater, they've put all of their energy into a poorly designed app and unreliable bluetooth connection that are inadequate in controlling this speaker system.

After being entirely frustrated with controlling EQ or volume with the knobs on this unit, and after (FINALLY) connecting with the app in my phone/iPad, I was UNABLE to achieve a decent tonal balance for my purposes. Even after rolling off the bottom end in the APP, it remained way too "bottom heavy" - just like the PRX ONE I returned!

I had to resort to major tweaking of the EQ on the output from my QSC Touchmix 16 in addition to rolling off the bottom end in the JBL in order to get even close to a decent mix coming out of this thing. I only used it for two gigs and am in the process of selling it. I'll just use my venerable and excellent JBL EON ONE when I need more oomph.

(I've suggested before that JBL hire some of the programmers from QSC to design an app that works through WiFi instead and thus is as responsive in controlling audio parameters as the excellent app for the Touchmix mixers.)

Unless you're in love with bluetooth apps and somehow find a way to control it, I can't recommend this thing any more.

The two stars in this case = JBL needs SUBSTANTIAL improvement in their parameter control options.

This portable battery powered unit has allowed me to play on street corners, parking lots parks & open empty fields where no power is available! It is light weight, compact & powerful! My only dis is that this comes with no operational instructions! The information I can find online isn't very helpful, so it has been difficult to set it up properly to maximize it potential. But, you cannot go wrong with this unit! I love it! You will too!

Background: I've owned BOSE 802s, Bose L1 Mod 2 and currently have retained a wonderful JBL EON ONE and 2 Bose S1 Pro units. I've been mainly using the 2 Bose fed by a QSC Touchmix 16. Sometimes the EON One with our drummer.

I bought a JBL EON ONE Compact as a "tax write-off" however I'm somewhat impressed.

I'll cover the CON first: If you're not comfortable with running this thing using the App (phone or pad), you're going to get VERY frustrated. The knobs ON the unit (volume, FX and EQ) are non-intuitive and it's really hard to know what they're doing if anything or where they're set. In addition, MOST of the control of the unit including multi-band EQ on the channels and master output and the EFX can only be done in the app. Thus the 1/2 star deduction.

First piece of good news: they wrote the app so that one can run it in older iPads that can't run IOS 13. I've also downloaded it into my Android phone and the app interface is clean and simple and I should be fine just using the phone to control the PA.

Best piece of news - the sound is incredible. It's like a smaller version of the best small system I've ever owned, the (unfortunately discontinued) JBL EON ONE...Duh, right?

It has GREAT bottom end to go with clean full range. So far I couldn't even cause it to break up with a Fender Jazz 5 string bass at a reasonable party and small club volume level.

The mellow improvement in the lower end is its major advantage over the Bose systems, along with Phantom power on Channel 1 (I can't believe Bose left that out), an extra instrument channel (so I can connect Vocal, Guitar AND Bass) and more EQ bands to work with than just "bass" and "treble".

Just for grins, I hooked up the 2 Bose S1s (on the floor tilted up) and the JBL on a speaker stand and WOW, it's the best of all possible worlds that can fit in a Mazda Miata. I will be trying out that configuration this Friday at an outdoor 5 hour gig where I have to cover 1/4 acre - 2 vocals, 2 guitars.

I've got a party/jam session tomorrow and will try it out with vocal, Taylor T5z and the Fender Bass.

Now to find out if it's as reliable as my Bose systems have been and how long the battery lasts.

I'm sure many of you will disagree with my review but for me the sound is a bit too tiny.
I tried it with a sm58 and background music as well as my guitar, don't get me wrong it's loud enough but I'm not convinced with the quality of the sound. It works as intended. It's a matter of personal taste.

Clean sound, good battery problem is this never gets loud enough. Good for a room of ten people for profoming.

Received the JBL EON One Compact at 11;30am and was using it on a solo gig just two hours later. Shipped inside three boxes, this thing was packed well. And it had a nearly full battery! The app was easy to set up and pair with my phone. Love the portability and ease of use. Can't say enough about the phantom power option, either. Using some of my favorite dynamic condenser and full condenser mics without a mixing board sure speeds up the setup time. Sound is very clean and full spectrum. I have used it with a mic and acoustic guitar for a solo gig the day I received it and an acoustic band gig with a large diaphragm condenser mic the next week. Works great! Have also used it as a vocal monitor in rehearsals, and will use it for an outdoor gig with my duet partner soon. Can't say enough about this EON Compact!

It is an amazing portable speaker. Load small and lightweight. It's great.

So, I have to say that JBL has really done well creating this small but very capable PA speaker. Although it is slimmed down compared to the bigger brother the Eon One MKii it still has a lot going for it. The battery life is great specially at moderate volume where I got several sessions out of it. Make sure you update the firmware delete the app and reinstall it and you will be good to go. I had to do this because it could not find the speaker after the first time I shut it off and turned it back on. No issues since. It is plenty loud for live acoustic performances and busking. Although limited the effects are ample and will work for most people. The only thing I wish they would change in the next firmware update is the app. It needs to be able to work on the pro connect app so it can be used in conjunction with the newer series of speakers like the MKii. No complaints from me other that the initial issue With the app causing me to lose all my settings before uninstalling and reinstalling.

the on and off is not easy to turn on or off you have to press hard and hold for a while not cool but over it works

I purchased my first Eon One Compact back in August 2021, and am super happy with it; so much so, I purchased a second.
After reviewing the manufacturer's information, I felt confident it would accomplish what I needed it to do.
What I found, after watching a few YouTube vids, was that the Blue Tooth connections via JBL's app connects well, but then the streaming from an iPad or iPhone 13 Pro Max begins to distort and even speed up after a few minutes.
The second issue was more along the lines of knowing audio and PA systems.
My assumption was that the on board analog sources plugged into the Host speaker would be heard on the Remote speaker. Not the case. You actually have to go old-school and use a 1/4" cable via Pass Thru on the Host, and connect to the Remote speaker. Again, it was my assumption because JBL does not share the limitations of their product, only the features.
I spoke with two people from Harmon (JBL Pro), and they confirmed an app update which should solve the streaming issues (which they already knew about). They were forthcoming in conceding the products do have limitations that are not listed in their sales and promotional materials.

I love the pair of EON One's I bought. I am a solo singer/songwriter/acoustic guitarist and have been using EV ZXL powered speakers and a Soundcraft 16ch mixer for all of my shows. The EON's are now my favorite speaker for most small to mid sized rooms. They are light and easy to move and the audio is wonderful. I would suggest downloading the manual right off the bat because they are a little quirky at first to get set up. The Bluetooth app can glitch and I did need to do a factory reset a few times as I learned to connect them. I much prefer the app for setting the tone controls and once I have it dialed in I save the setting in one of the EQ presets.

I also use one speaker alone of quick outside party's and all I need is a mic & my guitar. The factory FX sound nice enough.

I bought this for an outside gig that was a rather large area so I was a bit worried that it would not be sufficient. I was very pleasantly surprised. I used it as a bluetooth speaker for music, announcing system, and a guitar/singer duet. It worked flawless and I an extremely happy with this purchase and cannot recommend this enough.

I bought this speaker for preaching the Gospel on the street corner, this system sounds great.I would encourage anyone to purchase this unit, you will not be disappointed.

We are playing small gigs and house concerts for audiences of 20 - 60 people. In some ways, the Eon One Compact is exactly what we need. Three channels, two XLR inputs with phantom power. Phantom power is a big deal, because we (like many acoustic or semi acoustic bands) are performing with an Ear Trumpet wide pickup condenser mic. We add a 57 (sometimes) to pick up very small guitar amp and that's our set up. It's just barely loud enough for a small backyard concert.

The thing is this: the controls on the jBL unit are clunky. And the app is really not very good either. Its like it was designed by someone who had never mixed sound. It's hard to use the EQ, which will be necessary to get a sound you like. And the increments of volume are also hard to control. The reverbs sound - almost unusable. One super useful feature would be a RTA to allow you to more easily control feedback. Or just as well, an auto antifeedback feature. So given that JBL is a premium pro audio brand, the software pretty much sucks. (Compare this to, say, Behringer's software for their x Air mixers.)

Despite these flaws, there are few if any other compact all in one PAs with phantom power. So if you're running a condenser mic, JBL wins on a technicality.

There's a USB charging port, but not USB in or out, another feature I would love to see in future version.

Recently (and in the past) I have needed a battery option PA source for outdoor jams & solo gigging. After spending a fair amount of time of researching & experiences with other systems, decided on the JBL EON One Compact Portable PA Speaker. So far have used it on 2 outdoor gigs & 1 outdoor jam and it performed well with decent volume for such a small unit. The battery level did not drop that much even after a 3 hour gig in hot weather with one mic and one guitar plugged in. Easy to transport & setup, JBL quality. Highly recommend downloading and reading the manual and if any further unknowns don't hesitate to contact your Sweetwater sales rep (Thanks Ben Porter for your help) before taking it out on the road!

First of all, the JBL Eon system is really fantastic. Good power, long battery life, great accoustics and clarity from highs, mids and lows. I've dealt with Carson MCClain for several years and he is always spot-on with his recommendations. MORE IMPORTANTLY the service.
I ordered this for my wedding reception in Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan for our dinner at their super-nice restaurant- Scarpetta. My Dad (great musician) wanted to sing a song he wrote for us. I ordered the unit (and some wireless guitar transmitters) March 23rd with enough time for FEDEX to arrive at my house in Phoenix a few days before we headed up to Vegas on April 1st. Murphy's law struck: FEDEX got delayed and the unit was going arrive late. No speaker, no song for 60 guests at the nicest restaurant in Vegas. I had no idea how to fix this problem. Panic set it. I shot an email and asked Carson for help THE DAY BEFORE we left for VEGAS. The next day when we arrived in Vegas- The whole order was waiting for us at our hotel. OMG. Talk about ABOVE and BEYOND, complete lifesaver. We were stunned. This is why I will always order from Sweetwater in general and Carson in particular. Folks-of course price is important when ordering. And 9 out of 10 times, Sweetwater is the best- but in the end, PRICE PALES IN THE SHADOW OF GREAT SERVICE. The battery life is great, power is decent (I use it mostly for wedding ceremonies, where not a lot of volume is needed). But the volume controls and user interface are TERRIBLE. The volume knobs show a light ring with a gradual fade of where the volume is set, and the knobs take about two whole turns to get from zero to 100. I say "about" because there's no way of telling when you're exactly on zero or 100, because of the gradual light fade on the volume ring. Why on earth designers at JBL thought this was a good idea is unfathomable. What was wrong with regular knobs that have been used for decades? Also, the input switching button is and confusing. I understand they were trying to save real estate and simplify the panel, but it's not user friendly. Shame, because it has so much potential!

This little battery-powered speaker is a great performer. Employed it to allow VIPs to address 175 people in a filled big-screen theater. Yeah, it could have been more -- a second Eon One Compact would have been great, and can be added if desired -- but everyone heard clear to the back row.

The built-in mixer, with remote controlled Bluetooth control app, takes a bit of getting used to. Once you figure it out, however, you can control master volume and individual channel gain, mic/line selection, and individual channel EQ as well as master output EQ. It's really easier to use the app than the on-board controls. The mixer recalls the settings so it's ready to go the next time if you're in the same venue.

This is not for the techless nube. You need to know what a mixer does, the difference between mic and line in, 1/4" TRS and XLR, etc, and how to install and work a Bluetooth app on your phone or iPad. The app works in horizontal mode only -- really designed for an iPod. I use my iPhone, though, with great success.

The Eon One Compact has not gone into distortion at all, ever, even running wide open.

I'm using it with really cheap (like, $60) UHF wireless mics. One system is two mics into a single receiver that has a 1/4" unbalanced hi-z output. I plugged this receiver into INPUT 1's 1/4"/XLR input, set the input to "mic" and adjusted the gain and EQ. Clean, clear sound.

I plugged a second mic receiver into INPUT 2. Now I have three wireless mics going into two inputs, both set to MIC with individual gain and EQ control.

Since I'm using the Eon One Compact for PA voice, I've rolled off the bass and bumped the treble. Have not attached instruments like a guitar to it. Have not run Bluetooth music through it yet either. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Seems the speaker needs to be turned on for the speaker's battery to charge. The battery is large -- 14.8VDC at 90.28 Watt-hours. Beefy! It's also removable if you want to have a charged spare. Spare batteries are out of stock but this one is good for like 12 hours.

The digital mixer takes a few seconds to turn on: press the ON/OFF button for two seconds and wait for about three seconds. It'll turn on, eventually. To turn the unit off, hold the ON/OFF button for about 5 seconds. The controls light up on the speaker for low light use, but the app is definitely a better way for control.

The flush carry handle on top is strong and convenient. The 1-3/8" speaker stand socket on the bottom allows easy mounting to standard tripod speaker stands.

The speaker itself is small, with its 8" driver. It's a bit heavy, because it's got real amps and components in it, Still, it's easy to transport.

I bought the slipcover for it to protect from scratches and dents during transport. The slipcover has no storage pockets. It's designed to offer protection for outdoor use if it rains, I think. But it slips over the Eon One Compact snugly and keeps the speaker like new.

I carry the speaker around in an old rolling soft luggage case -- the size that fits in airline overhead compartments, that has wheels, a retractable handle and can expand via a zipper to get thicker. I can jam my mics in there too.

The outer pocket of the luggage allows me to carry a 5-foot tripod in a single case.

So far, could not be happier. Totally pro unit.

This speaker is extraordinary. I use it at a park join by two musicians' and we frequently are praise about the quality of the sound. I was the first to buy one the unit and my two fellow musicians acquire three of them. I play the guitar, flute and do some singing, one use it to amplified a mix electronic and acoustic snare drums arrangement and the other one uses it, for amplification of what is call, Barril de Bomba (is a conga alike instrument ) typical instrument of Puerto Rico and for vocals. The last musician, have two of the speakers and uses one to put a mike on the drummers speaker to capture de base drum sound. Battery last a very long time. We play for about 3 hours and in my case, with a guitar and mike only uses about ¼ of its capacity. The cell phone app is very helpful for settings of volume, EQ, Effects and to activate the 4th channel Bluetooth capability, amount other settings possible. Recently I discover an app with backup instruments and tons of songs of very wide variety that I can connect to the speaker by Bluetooth and to play alone with my guitar or flute. Love love love the JBL sound. Clear as a bell and balanced. To me it beats Bose tone no question. Bluetooth works great. I wish it had more 1/4 xlr combo inputs. I'll make it work for my do by adding a 2:1 DI box and a 2 channel preamp.

Mildly annoyed by the light indicators showing the levels on the channels. Would prefer a dot showing clearly where the dial label is, not an arbitrary light getting brighter/dimmer.

Can't beat the convenience of the battery power. Very handy for playing wedding ceremonies in remote locations.

this product the battery does not last long enough apart it never turned on again it does not charge and the sound is not so good I feel like I was throwing my money away.

To start, I haven't used this for an actual performance yet. I bought the PA specifically for busking. It's April in Northern Wisconsin and I won't likely start busking until mid-June.

Never had an "app" controlled piece of equipment before. The app is awesome with lots of EQ control. The reverb and delay are very nice, but I found the chorus slightly lacking. The system is naturally heavy on bass, so I pulled most of the low end out on the guitar channel and the main EQ. In so doing, I had to add in a relatively heavy amount of low end on the mic channel. It all works great, and the overall sound is excellent. I wouldn't have guessed I'd be able to get such quality sound at a decent volume from such a small piece of equipment. It seems it will be an ideal busking amp.

Paul Eckert was very helpful and as always, Sweetwater is just the best go-to for all my music gear.

Jesus where do I start. Ok, having to hold the power button for 5-6 seconds to power on and off is annoying. I have the Bose S1 Pro and the simple on and off , Charge switch is quick and easy. The controls are a mess. I hate the digital knob design. It is difficult to adjust the sound. It has significant less power than the Bose S1 Pro. I'm disappointed to say the least.

If you want a compact battery powered PA for busking this is it. Small, light, and very high fidelity. I am very impressed with the quality of this product. Very sturdy and well made.

Brought a brand new Eon One outside. It was fully charged, but indicated low battery and would not turn on. The temp was about 4 degrees C. Today it stayed on for about 15 min, it was fully charged, but it was cold outside. Other than that it sounds and works great.

I was interested in the JBL portable speaker/mixer with bluetooth, but had a few questions. Just wanted a simple way to play along with my favorite songs on Spotify with my guitar or bass or keyboard or drum set. Called Sweetwater and got Jesse. I was blown away by his helpfulness and specific knowledge of the product I was calling about. After our chat, it was no-brainer to buy from Sweetwater. The package came right away with some sweet candy and a note, and a follow up email from Jesse to make sure everything was OK. Wow!

Great sound and functionality. I had trouble with the app connecting to it and was about to send it back. Tech support had me do a factory reset which took care of the issue.

I used these JBL speakers for a couple of month now and all I can say is that they are really AWESOME.
They cover everything, from bass to the top register and is a clean sound. I've used so many PA speakers in my but these JBL is absolutely in the top!

This is a sweet compact portable speaker system that you can use anywhere anytime! I use mine in a parking lot for a Saturday morning breakfast and I small room venues where power is hard to find! Vocals clear & guitars undistorted! Can't go wrong with this little unit & you can't go wrong working with Sweetwater!!

I have used this repeatedly in rehearsals and exactly once in a performance. It sounds good and is quite functional. However, I'm a simple guy, and I've been spoiled by my Mackie powered speakers (and the rest of my Mackie gear, for whatever that's worth). You plug them in (power and audio), you flip the power switch, you turn it up, and if you don't have sound you should look elsewhere, because the problem isn't going to be with the speakers.

With the JBL product, you have to hold the power button down for several seconds (seems like sometimes 10 seconds). But before you do that, you better plug in every audio cable you're going to use, because at least in my experience, the speaker will not recognize cables that have been plugged in after powering up. The controls are also difficult to use. In sunlight it is very difficult to tell the levels of the knobs (the fact that each knob serves several purposes means there isn't simply a marking on the knob - you have to determine how much a curved light is lit up).

Do not expect to take this out of the box, charge it up, and take it on the road without some practice first.

Having said all that, if I had to purchase another battery-powered power speaker, it would be this, because I'm not aware of anything better.

We needed to play an acoustic band set that had no electricity and these were what the doctor ordered. We also now use them as monitors Daisey chained with our EV 30s all controlled through an iPad. Every band should have a set of these.

I purchased these speakers for the ability to present opportunities of worship in various locations that maybirnmaybnitnhave direct power sources. Two of these speakers will provide clear sound for garheings up to 200 people outdoors. The sound is clear. It trulkybhas a four channel moxer and the app works well.

Great except for two major things:
1. The on/off button has a lag and can easily be broken, or pushed-in and stays on. In short it sucks.
2. The manual controls can't be used during daylight due to green control lights being difficult to see.

The first is an easy fix in terms of design:
1. Use the standard on/off switch that every other PA speaker on planet earth uses.

The second is more difficult to fix.

Good sound. The power and Interface buttons for multiple microphones and audio lines is somewhat complex. There is an odd delay when pressing the buttons. You have to press and hold. It takes practice.

Unit is heavier than the Bose S1 but we since we needed the capability of having three microphone jacks this was the right choice for us.

If you're planning to use a Bluetooth mic, there is a noticeable delay. Instead we bought real $$ microphones (not Bluetooth) and it's very good.

Pro's are a wider variety of options and capabilities. More channels for the money, ability to make fine tune adjustments on the app and more.
The main con is the LED lights showing channel selection and volumes as well as the power indicator are far too dim to see in the sunlight. It is very hard to tell where you are for adjustments in the daylight. Makes it a struggle for critical adjustments on the fly.
I am in the wedding biz- I use this for Ceremonies and I have to be very careful not to have issues.

If you are doing any small acoustic gigs, this is the only PA you need. The built in reverb, chorus, and delay sound awesome. The overall sound is similar to our much bigger EON 10 and EON 15 systems, used for the full rock band. We purchased this battery-powered EON for busking and it has almost already paid for itself in the first month. My only hesitation is that it is a bit complicated to figure out the knobs and app at first. It's not quite as plug and play, as say a guitar amp. But within an hour of watching some YouTube videos and playing around with the different controls, I could not be happier with this purchase. The battery life (at least while its new) has been unbelievable. We played five 2 to 3 hours gigs on a single charge. That is with using three channels and about 75% volume. It is absolutely loud enough for busking and would work for a small room. I dont think it would be great for a loud room, though. I'd guess it gets to about 80 db, while our full JBL EON 615 PA can produce over 120 DB per speaker.

Bought this to use for those gigs where a power outlet isn't available. Used it for an outside wedding where I plugged in my acoustic guitar through my direct box. Had enough power and clarity for the wedding party to hear 50 feet away, and there were easily 100 people outside. Good reverb and plenty of battery life. Thanks again Sweetwater and especially Alan Finkbeiner, who is always helpful and knowledgeable!

I use this for weddings and nursing home gigs. It's perfect. Battery operated power comes in real handy. Sometimes I just drag it outside and bluetooth some music while my daughters and I play some soccer. It's really great.

OK, the ONE horrible thing that I have to say about this unit is this...

The knobs for adjusting volume, reverb, bass, and treble are terrible. I so wish the knobs were easier to quickly grab and turn, they're just simply too stuby and have no grip. Also having to do with the knob debacle is, when playing out in the sun, it's really hard to see the green lights on the knobs that give you a sense of the level of the parameter that you're trying to tweak. I don't know if the light aspect can be addressed in a firmware update, but man, it doesn't give you a good sense of how much you've added or taken away from the parameter. The lights around the knobs don't have separate LEDS that you can see, it just kind of faintly fades up or down, but it's really hard to make out.

So the knobs ARE the worst part of this thing. Thankfully you can get pretty precise when using the phone/tablet app.

Once you get used to the knobs, you'll find that JBL did an AMAZING job for what this thing can do and what it sounds like. I love mine and would never sell it.

When it comes to user minded design, JBL knows how to cater a successful product. This speaker is exactly what I was looking for in regards to a quality speaker and portability. Not only does is have a plethora of inputs and possible connection options, but the controls are easy to use and fun. This speaker comes with the possibility of an App based control mixer from JBL themselves. Setting presets for specific users and modes of performance, this speaker is a professional set up for the artist that wants to take their gear on the road WITHOUT boundaries. Did I mention the 15 hour battery? Sorry, too busy thinking about purchasing another.

i frequently play my guitar with a bass player. we learn songs, and play along with he recoding, in addition to doing songs on our own, with me doing vocals. We do this outside, underneath my stilt house in the Keys. Since covid, neighbors have been listening in, and we now have several socially distanced people coming by to sometimes listen to our music, but mostly socialize. I needed something that would play recorded music that sounded good, as well as a microphone that would keep with our amps. This unit fits the bill perfectly. The sound quality is excellent, it is very easy to set up, and is very portable I am very pleased with the purchase. I have also noticed that our "fans" seem to listen to the music more!

I purchased this unit for sound reinforcement during choir rehearsals in a in a 3000-seat sports complex, where practices are being held because of pandemic isolation. As my students are singing 8-10' apart with masks on, I needed to be able to move among them to listen without shouting.

This little gem has proven to be superb for my particular application. It provides plenty of presence and volume, is lightweight (I carry it back and forth from the choir room), and easy to use. The Bluetooth feature works unfailingly.

Music playbook isn't audiophile-quality (the low-mids are fairly muddy), but it serves my purposes nicely.

I researched several portable speakers before buying this speaker. It was the right choice. I used it at a gig last night for the first time, and it performed great! We had two vocals and two acoustic guitars going through it with good clarity and volume. I did buy the Morley aby mixer because it has one 1/4 plug, and we needed two for the guitars. Thank you Chris Lewis for the recommendation! You won't be sorry if you buy one of these great speakers!

I have two JBL EON Compact speakers which I like. however the JBL EON Compact Connect app is useless for my purposes.

I wanted to use a mobile device to serve stereo audio to these speakers. I've tried my Galaxy Note 8 phone (Bluetooth V5) a Galaxy Tab A8 (Bluetooth v4.2), a Galaxy S6 (Bluetooth V5), an Apple Ipad Air (Bluetooth V5), and an Apple Ipad Pro 11" (Bluetooth V5) with the same results on each.

I pair one speaker with the device, start the JBL EON Compact connect app, link both speakers and assign the speakers via BT-Broadcast. One speaker is the host, the other remote, one is left, the other right. Once it tells me the "Association was successful" I open VLC and either play an audio file or a video file. Everything sounds great until it glitches, speeds up or slows down, drops out, et.c. I will not be using this in public.

I bought these with the idea that I would be able to take my mobile device and the two speakers to small gigs and play with my own backing tracks. With everything running on batteries and connecting with Bluetooth I would not have to carry a laptop, an audio interface, a bag full of cables. Too bad it doesn't work.

Another point that was not clear to me in the advertising is if you have two speakers and want to use a microphone, the app will not broadcast the microphone signal, or to put it another way the microphone is only heard in the speaker you plug it into. If you want it to be in both speakers you will have to get a mic line splitter like the Radial Pro MS2 and plug the microphone into each speaker. This is one of many places where the Radial Pro MS2 works really well in my studio.

If you read the other reviews one person mentions these work well outside but thinks there are too many bluetooth devices inside that cause interference. I haven't tried my speakers outdoors and can't confirm.

I have looked for JBL documentation that might explain in detail what parts of the Bluetooth V5 implementation that they are using, or if there are specific codecs that you could serve the Connect app so it wouldn't have to convert formats, or compress your audio stream, or if there are particular mobile devices that actually work well. If you can find it please let me know. I feel like JBL is advertising these as Professional equipment but withholding the kind of information that a professional needs to use these speakers successfully.

I own four first generation EON's, the grey ones, two 10's and two 15's. These are professional equipment in my opinion, sound great and have lasted forever. The EON Compacts sound good to me, the bluetooth mixer part of the app seems to work well, but the Bluetooth stereo broadcasting part of it does not seem like a professional app. So, if you want a mono speaker to busk with it may be a different story.

I hope that someone will give me a heads up, and it turns out that I am doing something stupid. However I've been a musician for decades, and have usually figured out how to get poorly documented stuff to work. After a couple of months my opinion is that the bluetooth broadcasting portion of the Connect app does not work.

I hope JBL fixes fixes the stereo broadcast portion of the app or provides the kind of information that would allow me to use this system the way it is advertised.

Very portable, great sound, more than loud enough and extremely flexible. I'm going out busking with this jewel. Setting up will be a breeze as well as breaking down to move. I love the phone app for controlling the amp as I also use my phone to play my original backing tracks to play along with. My Strat sounds really clean and bright through this amp and the reverb, delay and chorus are very useful and sound really good.

Using this with a wired voice mic and a battery powered keyboard. It's light enough that I can coil up the mic and grab the amp with one hand and hold the keyboard with the other. Bluetooth latency is low enough that I can run karaoke on my iPad wirelessly. Sounds great for small rooms.

Well, my unit succumbed to the Power Button failure as mentioned in other reviews. The actual button started to retreat into the cabinet and, eventually, became inoperable.

This is my first purchase from Sweetwater where I've had to RMA the product and let me tell you it couldn't have been easier. Austin responded immediately and the Returns Department had a new unit shipped to me in 3 days. All I had to do was swap the defective unit for the new one, apply the included shipping label to the box, and bring it to my Fed Ex drop off.

The Eon 1 Compact is still the best sounding and feature laden unit at this price point out there so I hope JBL/Harmon can address the Power Button Design Flaw.

I've only had this speaker for a short time, but so far it works pretty well. I've only used it with acoustic-electric nylon string guitar so far and with EQ I can get a decent sound. The app is somewhat clunky but it is functional. Setting volume levels between device playing backing tracks and guitar playing through the speaker always takes a bit of time to set up, there are 4 places that volume can be controlled, 2 controls in the app mixer and 2 knobs on the speaker. I usually have to tweak all 4 to get balanced sound at the right volume. I'm working on saving snapshots so there will be less tweaking. The one feature I really wish it had is a mute button.

Package arrived on schedule (thank you Sweetwater). When I took it out of the box, I immediately wanted to charge the speaker up, so I plugged the speaker in, hit the on off button a few times - holding for different lengths of time each time and nada. On about the 4th or 5th try the unit turned on. I did look at the quick start guide and the more detailed PDF owner manual that I downloaded from their web site before doing this. Once I got the unit on, I could not turn it off, so I left the speaker plugged in and proceeded to read through the PDF version of the owners manual. I learned that there was an app and that firmware updates come through the app. I decided to see if a firmware app was needed. I installed the firmware update and everything seemed to work better, but I still had problems turning the speaker on and off consistently. It would nice if there was a sheet of paper in the box that came with the unit that tells you install the app and to check for updates ASAP.I then contacted JBL customer service and they told me that you need to gently compress the switch for about 3-5 seconds and then let go and it will turn on or off. This worked.

Long story summarized, the on / off switch could be a lot better made / designed. It seems very "delicate" to me. I did stream via bluetooth and music sounds great! I did this both inside and outside my house, no streaming quality problems. The EQ worked nicely to shape the tone. I have yet to run my acoustic guitar through it. That is next up, but wanted others to have the benefit of what took me some time to work through.After reading through the owners manual, I realized that I have just scratched the surface with respect to what this speaker can do.

First off right out of the box, set up speaker on stand off the floor, powered it up... using app made a few small minor adjustments for the guitar I was playing Taylor810e... Mids were a little muddy pulled them back using the parametric EQ.... and man did she sing through the speaker... vocals plugged in with a Shure KSM8 Microphone... sound quality was good... but lacked in the reverb area for me as far as what effect I was looking for.... Utilizing my TC Helicone pedal added a room fill effect and wow.... EXTREME CLARITY!!! If you are looking for something for small venues, to practice with, to do those one off gigs... this will work quite well for you... Shout out to Mark Thompson for always taking care of this musician. On a side note I did buy the bag for this at it fits perfectly and the added pouch in front is excellent for all your cords to make it extremely versatile.

In the week that I've had my new JBL Eon One, I've been able to play outdoors, way up in the mountains of the Oregon Coast. It was awesome. The ability to have amplified, sweetened sound virtually anywhere, due to the battery power was a cool thing to experience. I'll be using it in the future during family camp outs where our "jam sessions" will take on another huge perspective. So...I've yet to utilize it in a performance setting (either as a main amp for a small venue or a monitor for my position behind the drum set). The construction appears to be very sturdy and should hold up to substantial road use. So far, I'm lovin' it!

I bought this to play my ukulele and sing in a Busking/Outdoor patio setting but I've used it for so much more. The Phantom Power is just one feature that puts this above the other PA's out there but the Pass Through Channel really makes it for me.
I can use the Eon as an onstage monitor and patch into the mains, brilliant!

Thanks to Hurricane Isaias I got to test out the battery life both Streaming through BT and Playing with uke and mic. I played all day and it never went below half on the meter.

The hard controls are a little wonky but the app controls really allow you to dial in your sound and take "snapshots" of your settings which you can load from your phone. Each channel has independent control for FX but not for EQ.

The extended range (37.5 Hz – 20kHz) sounds really full and, when goaded, can really move some air.

As a solo Singer Ukulele Player it's perfect. When I join a band or even want to record at home... it's perfect.

Outdoors Bluetooth connection with tablet and computer works fine. As soon as you try to use indoors where there are cell phones and other Bluetooth components in the room it all goes to crap. My tablet keeps disconnecting from the speaker and the mix goes to crap because it restarts. The Bluetooth connection which is playing my backing tracks cuts out constantly and ruins my show. I find the reasons I bought the speaker are not viable and useless in indoor situations. The speaker itself sounds great when used with analog mixers, which completely undermines my decision to buy this speaker. If you want to rely on the BlueTooth and the remote app that controls the speaker, forget about it. This speaker is not worth the money. You are better off with a regular powered speaker and a mixer. The technology is definitely not up to par.

Love this unit. Complicated to learn at first, just downloaded the app. Everything I need, just a little too modern-sized for my preference. Definitely happy with the purchase and would recommend to anyone.

I have a few friends that have Bose S1 Pros and was blown away with the volume and sound quality of such a small, light PA system. And it can run on battery power for 5 or 6 hours - longer than any gig I plan on having! I was about to buy one when I stumbled on this instead. Beats the Bose in just about every metric - 8" instead of 6" speaker, wider freq response range, 4 true channels instead of 3. The Bluetooth software is great (although it took me a while to be able to connect initially to update the firmware.) Plus the phantom power. And the USB ports are what really made my decision. I can run my pedals off of this!

These speakers sound great. I bought two to go with my ceremony set ups and the sound and ease of use is amazing. Plus the JBL Eon app to make the adjustments with your phone or tablet is so useful. Definitely worth the price and will buy more later on.

Kudos to JBL for creating a battery powered speaker that does a great job and sounds really good. BUT you have to work up front with the app to make it do what it's supposed to do --and achieve what it's capable of doing. The app is feature-rich, stable and very comprehensive, but might be something that non-sound tech savvy musicians or "analog" guitar folks struggle a little bit with initially. But if you are persistent you'll get it! It's actually pretty intuitive. I am an older "analog" concert sound engineer so I know what I wanted this thing to sound like, and it took me a bit of work up front. That said JBL gave the app everything needed. Some quick tips or ideas:
-- There is a single output EQ section where you can "tune it" as if you were tuning an equalizer for your PA system. I tuned this as flat as I could first.
--FYI there's some honky sounding low mids that you have to get rid of. Beyond boosting the fixed bass (120 Hz) I also found I had to bump 80 Hz in the EQ (sharp slope) --then the speaker started sounding rich and deep. Before that (out of the box) there didn't seem to be a wholelot of bass available. The bass is in there you just have to use the app to "wake it up."
Then I moved on to the channel EQ using mics and instruments.
-- Break in the speaker for a bit-got smoother rounder sounding after about 4 hours of playing music through it.
I gave it 4 1/2 stars (versus 5) because I thought the effects could have been a little bit better (given JBL owns Lexicon) but again if you put in the work with the app you'll get something you can live with. Also the green-lit controls on the speaker itself make it a little tough to see exactly where your settings are at-- you get used to that. Another reason for getting comfortable with the app-which worked really well on my iPhone. Lastly I wish there was a mute button for first three channels. Channel 4 is earmarked for playing music-in my case between sets. Those nit picks aside it's a great product!!

This is the portable, battery-powered PA amp I've been waiting for. Over the past few years I've bought the Roland BA330, which operates on AA batteries (single-use or rechargeable) and the Mackie FreePlay Live (operates on internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery). I love the Roland because it has a full, rich sound, lots of inputs but it's heavier to carry around. I love the Mackie because it's light but the sound isn't as powerful (despite the power ratings) as the Roland. But it's so much easier to carry around and I love the ability to control it from my iPhone through bluetooth.

But this JBL Eon One Compact has it all -- a full rich powerful sound in a lightweight easy to carry around form, and while it's easy to control simply from the knobs on the unit, there is so much more control (and two additional effects!) available if it's controlled from a smartphone or tablet. From the free app there are 4 bands of user configurable eq (you can pick the frequency range for each of the bands 2, 3, 4, and 5 as well as gain and width) plus the preset frequencies of the Bass and Treble eq (same control as with the knobs on the amp itself). That's available for each of the 4 input channels, plus there is an 8-band eq for the final mixed output stage. In addition to the reverb that can be controlled from a knob on the amp itself, through smartphone or tablet control there are also Delay and Chorus effects. The delay is sort of like an enhanced reverb -- it's not a plate reverb with lots of echo potential but it does give more spatial quality than the reverb by itself. For the delay we can set the time and the level, and for the chorus we can set the speed and the level. And for each of the three main input channels we can set how much of the signal goes to the effects (same amount to all three effects) as well as the level of return to the main output.

The battery life is rated at "up to 12 hours" but JBL admits that if this unit is used at full volume the battery life is more like 6 hours. But the battery is easily swapped without tools so buying a spare battery can allow for longer playing time. I have not tested it yet to see how accurate their listed times are.

I have tested it with a solid-body electric guitar, a steel-string acoustic guitar, acoustic/electric fretless bass, electric violin. They all sound great -- the extended low range of the speaker means that the bass does not sound muddy. The highs all sound very clear.

One word about the power switch -- you have to hold it down until the unit powers on (about 6-8 seconds), and to power it off you have to hold it down until the unit powers down (about 4-5 seconds). This is a great design feature so it can't accidentally be turned on or off merely by something brushing the power switch.

It can be used standing up or lying down as a monitor. It doesn't have a built-in angled feature like the Bose S1 Pro or the Roland BA330 have, but since the amp seems to be bottom heavy it can tip back a great deal with something under the front, so it can certainly be used at an angle for more upward projection.

Using the smartphone/tablet app it is possible to combine up to 4 of these units for stereo sound or simply for more power. The line out jack is described in the book as being used to connect another Eon One Compact but in reality it is a line out which can be used for any purpose, such as connecting to a different amp. I can see myself combining this Eon One Compact with either Mackie FreePlay Live and/or my Roland BA330 for those occasions when more power is needed, or for outdoor gigs where the audience may be spread out and having several amps facing in different directions could be useful.

This is an ideal amp for the small combo or singer who accompanies him/herself on guitar or keyboard. Or for presenters or gym workout leaders.

And the ability to stream audio via bluetooth means that you can keep your audience engaged while you take a break.

Finally, an amp that can do all that I've been hoping for.

I read the reviews but I could not believe the sound from the JBL eon one, it holds true even at high volume. The features and ease of application are exactly what you would expect from JBL, Excellent !!
I could not be more satisfied with the service or the speaker, I will be buying three more in the very near future.

I purchased this speaker for a small holiday tour, one that required us to use only PA equipment requiring no power cords. As advertised, it produces a fairly robust sound for its size. The downloadable app works fairly well, too. I'm only cautious when it comes to the power button. Sometimes, it seems like it takes an unusual amount of time for it to "power up." I'm assuming it could be related to the battery-powered feature. If the battery seems stable, we may even purchase a second a try pairing them.

I bought this to use as a monitor for a dual EON One Pro setup. My setups incorporate a large diaphragm condenser mic for bluegrass/ ole timey jams, so I need phantom power. I got to use it the other night for a monthly jam and everyone, including myself, was impressed. Having the addition of a monitor in the fully battery powered solution was perfect, helping to make the performance of everyone better overall. It's also great to have a more mobile solution for when the opportunity allows for it. So many new doors have been opened! Will likely buy two more as floor speakers.

Awesome sounding speaker. I play weekly acoustic gigs and the set up is quick and easy. No need for a mixer or the extra cables that come with it.

It only got 4 start because of this...
-Firmware updates delete your snapshots...not cool!
-You have hold down the power button for at least 8 seconds to turn it on.
-Don't get it cold. Battery dies (but I think that's common)
-When you turn it on, it makes a loud sound to tell you it's connected to Bluetooth. Annoying if you're at an event
-The master volume on the app is on its own page and the mixer is on another. They should just put it all on one.

Before I go into whats wrong with the speaker I can say I absolutely loved the sound coming from this speaker. I would put this up against the Bose any day. Did it have the Bose tone? No but it was close. I liked that i could EQ all 4 channels. The two mic inputs did have a nline in or mic setting and the bluetooth worked at a good distance.

***Here is the issue with the First Production Units...

I was one of the first to pre-order this and it arrived in time for my last wedding of the season. When it was delivered it was 30 degrees outside. I brought in the house and opened it up... The speaker would not start up on Battery Power. Even plugging it in the Battery indicator did nothing. I took the battery out and it powered right up on power. I called JBL and here is the issue. There is a major Firmware issue where as if the battery drops below 40 degrees it shuts the battery off and drains it to zero. At the time of the call JBL had just learned about this issue. Once it warmed up it worked fine so I felt I would try this at the wedding even knowing it was going to be cold outside. Battery was fully charged. I kept the speaker inside only taking it outside to test the sound and wireless mic with the unit and all worked fine during the 10 mins I was outside at 35 degrees. Took the speaker back inside to keep it warm. 5 mins before the ceremony I went back outside and it would not power up..Battery indicator said battery was drained. Thankfully I was prepare with the plug. I called JBL back today and I was told they are still working on a Firmware update and that they are not even sure if this will be able to be updated via the app or usb through a computer. They advised me to return it and wait for the updated version in a month or so. Sorry for the long review but I feel this will effect anyone who works in the colder temps in the spring and fall in the Northern States. Now to wait and see and then decide between this again or the Bose S1.

Nice looking speaker with some nice features.. Bluetooth 5.0 is required to use the JBL Connect app though or you may experience frequent disconnects. Also the fx featured in this unit are global - so you won't be able to have just reverb on a vocal mic and chorus on your guitar. You basically get the total of selects you effect with each channel send.

The input gains all work well and the unit is quite loud..despite having two separate eq sections I find the vocals to sound a bit full. Guitars however sound pretty decent. Maybe with further firmware updates it will improve.. I will use it in my home studio but for live performances I will more than likely stick to my Bose S1 Pro

I've been waiting for this speaker for 20 years. 18 lbs., Onboard LITHIUM ION BATTERY, small, 16x10x11, 112db and extended bass down to 37hz. I play electric guitar with a processor to backing tracks and I will use this for busking in the spring. Sound quality is excellent. It doesn't even feel like it weighs 18 lbs to me, more like a gallon of milk or my PRS in the gig bag. My processor works on USB power so I can use the onboard USB for that. Perfect small, powerful PA with excellent sound. I don't know why nobody came up with this design before. Hopefully the backpack designed carry it will be out and in stock soon.

If you buy this speaker, and it's a decent system, upon plugging-in, do the following:

PRESS IN AND HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR 6 SECONDS TO TURN ON THE SYSTEM!

When done playing,

PRESS IN AND HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS TO TURN OFF THE SYSTEM!

There isn't any information on proper Power Button usage in the JBL Quick Start Guide or the online Owner's Manual. If you're not aware of the above procedures, you won't be able to use this system and think it's defective! Once you understand the above Power Button procedure, I think you'll find the JBL EON ONE Compact is a really good-sounding portable dual-power source PA speaker.

I just received my JBL EON ONE Compact and it is absolutely phenomenal! Mixer controls are super intuitive and easy to use, the speaker is lightweight and extremely durable, but most importantly it is LOUD!!!! I spent so much time comparing the specs of this vs the S1 online and the JBL beats it in every category! It just came out so I wasn't able to find one in person to check out so I took a gamble on ordering sight unseen, and I am so happy I did! This thing kicks serious *** and I'm definitely going to be buying a couple more. Thanks JBL, you knocked this one out of the park!
