Epiphone J-45 EC Acoustic Guitar - Aged Vintage Sunburst Gloss Reviews
Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar pays faithful homage to an absolute legend. Debuting in 1942, the J-45 is considered by many to be the dreadnought that set the standard for those that would follow. The J-45 immediately established itself as a favorite among wartime musicians like Woody Guthrie for its balanced, robust low end and rugged midrange, which perfectly complemented the voices of the growing folk music scene. The J-45 would go on to become a widely popular instrument, earning the nickname "The Workhorse." The J-45 features the same solid Sitka spruce top of the original, paired with a solid mahogany back and sides for that signature J-45 tone. The mahogany neck with Indian laurel fingerboard is instantly comfortable and responsive. And when you need to plug in, onboard Fishman electronics deliver pristine amplified acoustic sound.

Epiphone J45 EC
I've only had this guitar for a few weeks. It sounds great and will satisfy my purpose for many years.
My sales representative is Jim Swain. He is very professional and knowledgeable about all products. A pleasure to work with.
Epi Inspired by Gibson J-45
I've had my Epi J45 for a few months now. It is all I expected it to be. In the past I've owned a Gibson Hummingbird, a D-28 Martin, several small bodied guitars including a Martin 000-16R that I currently own. This Epiphone holds its own with any other dreadnought I've played. I did add bone bridge pins. Did it help? Maybe. Sweetwater's service during and after the sale was first rate. This is a great guitar and it was a great buying experience.
Best Accoustic Guitar I’ve Ever Played
Bought this from Sweetwater in Dec 22. Guitar is perfect in every way.

This guitar is fantastic... has exceeded my expectations.
Also, the guitar came packaged extremely well.
Outstanding Guitar For the $$$$
Picked up a J45CE this past week from the Sweetwater campus in Fort Wayne and I was honestly shocked at the build quality, sound, and smoothness of play. The set up was perfect but then it also went thru their 55 point inspection prior. The closest comparison that I have in my stable is a Martin OMCPA4R and this Epi doesn't lag behind in the least considering its like a third of the cost. It does fall short of my D 28 but then it should. If you're looking for a solid wood guitar to haul around and not have to worry much, you should give this one a try as its an absolute steal for $...
Love the guitar, now I 'get it'
Over the decades many players and pundits have lauded the J-45 and it seems cemented into guitar lore that it is one of those on the list that 'you' should own before you die. I tend to take that kind of advice with shakers of salt. After all, ears are weird, and mine, especially. Still, I came across one and thought I would give it a shot. I think I'm in love. I have a 78 Yairi that is an absolute cannon, and this J45, for being the same size, is quieter and more mellow. Granted the Yairi is spruce and rosewood and the J45 is spruce and mahogany. The J45 is a better 'think and sing' guitar than the Yairi because it is a quieter guitar. I can get it loud if I really hit hit but I don't think that is what the guitar feels like doing, or what it was made for. Singer-songwriters seem to love the J45 and I have found out why. It is a wonderful vocal accompanist. It doesn't overpower, it isn't super bright, or super thumpy- it puts out what you play into it and mixes well with voice just as if you were in a group ensemble and had to internally balance everyone's volume per section, except, that it is already balanced. 1/2 star off because of the tuners- they feel slacky, and you have to turn them a long way to get any movement out of them.
Nice guitar to look at but...
the sound is very bland. I gave it three stars for appearance and build quality. No sweet tone or sustain at all. I'm hoping that'll change with a new set of strings but I'm not sure it will. I have to say the action is fantastic but the guitar is very heavy and the pick guard is very thick which can definitely restrict the soundboard from vibrating freely. Most people know that. What was Epiphone thinking by putting such a thick pick guard on this guitar? It is beautiful to look at and the craftsmanship is top notch but that's about all I can say about this guitar at the moment. If a new set of strings doesn't make this guitar sound better I'm probably going to be returning it.
