The Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy fuses classic design with modern style, sound, and playability. It features a mahogany body, along with an attention-grabbing, carved hard-maple top — the tried-and-true LP tonewood combination. Multi-voice Fluence humbuckers arm you with vintage and modern humbucker tones, plus hum-free single-coil textures. This Les Paul is addictively playable courtesy of a super-comfortable, asymmetrical SlimTaper-shaped mahogany neck, a fast-playing 24-fret ebony fingerboard, and a smooth-feeling contoured heel. Benefit from rock-solid tuning stability and lightning-fast string changes by way of the Les Paul Prophecy’s Grover-locking Rotomatic tuners, while a LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and Graph Tech NuBone nut facilitate incredible clarity and near-endless sustain. Eye-catching custom binding and a sharp-looking aged gloss finish put the perfect finishing touches on the Les Paul Prophecy.

The Prophecy and Sweetwater!!!

By Jo M. from Pensacola, Florida on April 13, 2023 Music Background: Classically trained in the trumpet and Fhorn. 30year guitar beginner!

2nd ever Sweetwater purchase- I got the Prophecy demo model… when it arrived the box was beat up by the delivery folks-fedex- the box was crushed on one side and a corner portion was even tore they had to tape it up. Well after 24 hours I got to open it up. It was packed well enough that it survived the trip. Also the guitar was as perfect as a demo model could be. Played great! Customer service great! Just all around happy with my experience!! Well done y'all!! Now I'll just wait for the Epiphone Hammett Greeny!!

Simply Impressed. Quiet, versatile and WOW! It sounds amazing.

By JR from Appleton, WI on March 1, 2023 Music Background: 38 years playing a little bit of everything.

The Prophecy is made of a solid mahogany body and neck which provides a mello and resonant tone. It's 24 3/4 scale with 24 frets and a carved out neck heel so us humans can actually reach those frets. The neck also has this asymmetrical radius (which feels just amazing in my slightly large hands with sloppy technique). The Prophecy also has the 'Kalamazoo' style headstock which looks great (i'm glad they brought this back). I got mine in the Black Aged Gloss and it's really nice looking, especially with Epiphone's meticulous attention to detail on this instrument, including abalone inlays and binding.

Now let's talk about the pickups, a big reason that I decided to purchase this particular guitar was to have one solid instrument in my home studio that could give me the widest variety of sound choices without sacrificing quality to some gimmickery. So what's the verdict? I'm impressed. These high-output Fishman Fluence pickups do offer a wide range of tonal options and simply unbelievable sustain. They're not true active pickups but they do require a battery. To my non-professional ears, you can get the 'Modern Les Paul' sound, the 'Burstbucker' and what I would call an amazing Telecaster sound that reminds me a lot of Fralin's Split Blade Tele pickups. Oh and did I mention - no hum, these pickups are completely silent which is EXCELLENT for recording.

I guess you could say I'm happy with this purchase =)

One last thing - I'd like to give a big shoutout to Colton Smiricky, my Sweetwater Sales Engineer - who always gives me amazing service. Use your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, these folks know their stuff and are some of the best I've dealt with in the business. Thank You Sweetwater & Colton!

Hard to set this thing down

By Sweetwater Customer on February 27, 2023

I've been playing off and on for 20 years now and I never owned a Les Paul. Always wanted one so I grabbed this. I mostly play Strats and Telecasters so I was curious to see how I would adapt to the shorter scale, jumbo frets, etc.

I've honestly never felt more "at home" on a guitar and it's only been a few days. I think I'm a LP guy only from here on. I've never been more motivated to play.

My only real complaint (and I've seen a lot of others say the same thing) is I wish it came with some sort of documentation on the four knobs push/pull function with the Fishmans. It's a little hard for me to tell a difference in tone with them all up, all down, or a mixture. Not a reason to not buy it, but a little weird.

The Les Paul I needed.

By Jason Wahoski from FLAT ROCK, MI on February 27, 2023 Music Background: 30+ years

I love Les Pauls. I am also a metal head. Naturally, this seemed like the Les Paul I needed. After spending about a week playing this thing, I absolutely love it. At first I wasn't sure about it because it has 24 frets and that just seems wrong, but it does seem to make it easier to get to the higher frets, so I'll take function over form any day. I don't know about other genres of music, but for metal, this thing is an absolute beast. Sustain for days, super reactive pickups. It forces you to play cleaner because they pick up on anything you do wrong. I am just amazed with the sound this thing makes. It doesn't sound like any of my other guitars. If you are on the fence about this guitar because it's an Epiphone, let that go. I am honestly surprised Gibson didn't slap their name on it and put a $5k price tag on it.

This Guitar is Phenominal

By Quentin Herrera on April 10, 2022

I have played nothing but acoustics most of my life and decided to try and get into the electric side of things. After a ton of research into something versatile, fairly priced, and awesome to play, I landed on the Les Paul Prophecy and I can truly say this guitar makes me regret staying away from electrics for so long! When I say versatile I mean I haven't found a genre this guitar can't do! I can play John Mayer's Slow Dancing in a Burning Room one minute and then play Devastator by For Today the next, and maybe a little jazz in between. Acoustic is a little limited in that sense so I am just blown away by how the music world just opened up to me! I am by no means an expert player, but man I can't say anything bad about this guitar. It's beautiful, it feels amazing to play, it sounds so awesome, and I have Candace Irizarry to thank for helping me with this phenomenal purchase!

Believe the hype!

By Ted Mindpiece from Sycamore, IL on November 20, 2020

Great guitar! The specs all the way around are top notch. Sweetwater was great to work with and this machine rips!!! If you're on the fence, don't be. These are legit!

All Good except sharp fret bars.

By Brian from Butler, Pa on February 16, 2023 Music Background: Gigging musician for decades.

This guitar looks and sounds great! Maybe the fret bar issue isn't common, but I am going to have them all smoothed over on the high E string side. They noticeably catch your hand while playing, a first for me. A great price though!

Great Les Paul but needs some fret finishing

By Bill from Rancho Cucamonga, CA on January 22, 2021

I love this guitar! Great feel, plays great, amazing pickups! My only issue is the fret ends are a bit sharp. Now I need to spend $$ to get the frets crowned, where they should have left the factory that way. But love the guitar!

Get The LTD EC-401 Instead

I was like you.
Maybe you owned one of the original Prophecy line and you loved how it was exactly what anyone would want in a metal machine, style, simplicity and all.

Maybe you are super into the E-II ECLIPSE BB but you wanted Fishman Fluence and you HATE the ESP headstock on singlecut guitars.

Maybe you just wanted a spec-heavy chug monster and you didn't want to have to go deep into debt over it, either way you saw that little sneak peek at NAMM 2020, before for the world went to s*** and got super horned up and now it's like a thousand tragedies later and it finally got released. Well let me tell you this: I love sweetwater but this guitar is exactly why you need to be able to put hands on an instrument BEFORE cash is exchanged.

I'm on my second one at this point after the first one I got sent had hole in the fretboard (which didn't show up in pictures btw) and a host of other QC issue that I couldn't just let go considering I was paying for a new, in every sense of the word, guitar. So I had it out of the box for less than an hour before I had to pack it all back up to send it back. Credit to the sweetwater team, they got me a new one right away and when I got home from work, opened the box, saw it was in acceptable (not perfect) shape and then I plugged it in and nothing happened. Changed amps, cords,
and batteries, cranked every knob, nothing. So now I gotta find an authorized Epiphone repair shop that's open during a global pandemic (because I'm not sending it back again) and all of this could have been avoided by going to a guitar store and hearing in person that its tones were nothing to write home about and the fit and finish is sub par.

All this to rip off LTD from ten years ago who you already beat WITH YOUR ORIGINAL PROPHECY EX!

Go buy one of those instead or the LTD EC-1000 Fluence or buy this if you must BUT play it FIRST. You're welcome.
