Epiphone

By Sweetwater Customer from OH on March 7, 2024

I am just a beginner but in my opinion this guitar feels & plays better then my actual Les Paul & the quality & appearance is amazing for the price.

Great Guitar

By Damon Fausett from Lafayette, IN on January 31, 2024

Love this Guitar! Epiphone's quality is really good! Shout out to Sweetwater for a great setup on this Guitar, nice low action! This thing stays in tune! For the money this is a great giging Guitar! If you're not hung up on the name on the headstock, and looking for a great guitar for the money. Then this is your baby! Thanks again Kurt Martin for all your help and hard work!

Plays well out of the box

By Guitar Quackery from NYC on January 12, 2024 Music Background: Guitar Repair Tech & Luthier

Every guitar is different, even guitars of the same make and model. The one I bought played well right out of the box.

Although I did find some imperfection, I scrutinized the guitar under the microscope, so I am still giving it 5 stars. See my tech review video, attached.

This is a fantastic guitar for the money.

Beautiful guitar

By Michael from California on December 11, 2023 Music Background: Haven't played in 42 years

Bought this guitar because of the appearance. Haven't played in 42 years but when it arrived I was in awe of how much better in person it looks than in the pictures. It was packaged great and arrived perfect.

Sixties Flashback

By Larry G from Arizona on October 10, 2023 Music Background: Eternal amateur

I previously owned the Epiphone Standard 50s. I liked the guitar's feel and sound, but then I saw this Standard 60s and decided to give it a try. When I held it, the neck molded to my hand, more so than the other. The Probucker 2 and 3 pickups had the tone that was absent in the 50s version. I'm sure that the next owner of the Standard 50s will be very happy with their new guitar. The Sixties are my soundtrack, and now the 60s are in my hands.

Great Guitar

By Rob P from Texas on October 10, 2023 Music Background: Play for fun and collect gear whenever I am allowed to

I've had this one for close to a year now and I still love it. I love the neck profile on this one and to me that is the most important part because you can fairly easily change anything else on it (which I did actually lol). Out of the box, I just needed to adjust the action to where I like it, but that took me mabey a few minutes to do. The pickups were "ok" but here are the Mods I did to improve it even more to my personal taste"
1. Ratio Locking Tuners
2. Super Distortion in the bridge position
3. Replaced the bridge.

Thats it and honestly the cost was very reasonable and did not do all at once. This guitar feels CLOSE to its Gibson big brother at just a fraction of the cost. Now the tops on these guitars are just plain gorgeous. To me, they LOOK every bit as good as a proper Gibson, just at a fraction of the cost again.

The Super Distortion made the biggest difference for me. Once that was in there, this thing was nothing short of an awesome guitar.

I have gotten more guitars from Sweetwater than I will admit in writing :) and for me, this is the best place to get anything from. My normal sales guy is Alden and he is nothing short of amazing to work with. Everyone that buys from here really should get to know their sales rep cause that person will be more help to you than you could believe and that customer service is what separates Sweetwater from many others. Ya cant beat it. Again, if ya looking for a great LP guitar, this is a great one to try and remember, you can make this into whatever YOU want it to be and still be out alot less than the price of a Gibson. Gibsons are great also, but the way the economy is now, sometimes we need to save money where we can. And this guitar will allow ya to save that money and not sacrifice any of the quality

Such an amazing bargain!!!

By Tony B from Roll Tide!! on September 19, 2023 Music Background: Bedroom/Back porch player

I'm really a novice at playing, I've owned several over the years, mostly strats, currently have a Jackson Dinky in the stable with this one. They are such different animals! This is my first Les Paul and it has exceeded my expectations. Overall the sound is very well rounded and nice. Much fuller than my other, which is exactly what I was hoping for as the other guitar was more specific purpose. The pics that Paul (my Sweetwater rep) sent to me before shipping did not do this guitar justice. In person the color/finish/flame was FAR richer and more beautiful than the pics showed. I did not have a 'full set up' done and just went with the basic 55pt inspection. I wanted to do the initial setup myself (learning opportunity) and much to my surprise the intonation was absolutely SPOT ON. Action still just a ~HINT~ high, but so close that I may not even mess with it. I tune up almost every time I practice, I'm used to guitars that dont hold tune very well, after the first few practice sessions these grover tuners hold insanely well once the strings were broken in. I honestly can only think of one thing I would consider changing about this guitar, I might want to have the neck finished in satin or even bare wood, but the gloss on the neck isn't bad. just haven't had a guitar that was gloss in some time so still getting used to it.

If you were ever wanting to have an LP in your stable on a budget, these new "Inspired by Gibson" Epiphone Std's are the way to go. just great vintage vibe and put together wonderfully!! Might have to get a 50's Std to go along with it!

Bought 4 and kept and kept the one I liked

By Ronald Carmona from Hesperia, CA on August 18, 2023 Music Background: Amateur for 50 years now making a home recording studio

I purchased 4 to learn what difference the weight makes in the sound of the guitar and the result is exactly what I expected: the heavier ones all have a deeper tone than the lighter ones. They weighed 8lbs 14oz, 9lbs 2oz, 9lbs 6oz and 9lbs 11oz. The one weighing 8/14 (SN 22031531823) is sweet. It has a delicate tone and is real nice for rhythm. Lead, similarly, will be thin and bright, like for jazz or country. I kept the one weighing 9/2 because it has a good overall balance between depth and brightness. The 9/6 one was also more on the deep side and didn't impress me in any particular way, but the one weighing 9/11 (SN 22031531817) is unique. It has an overall heavier tone than the others and if you play songs where a big rhythm sound is needed, like if you bash out barre chords, open chords, power chords, this guitar will have a warm deep tone that will make your rhythm section sound good. I returned these guitars August 18 2023 and it takes them about a week to put them back in the gallery. I used a Marshall DSL 40 combo amp. Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

The build quality and finish are unbelievable

By Joe M. from Southern California on August 18, 2023

What a great, great guitar. I also have a Gibson '60s style Les Paul Standard (purchased last year from Sweetwater) and I got this Epiphone to use for putting in practice time in an effort to minimize wear and tear on my Gibson. When I placed my order I spent the extra dough for Sweetwater's Plek Pro treatment hoping this guitar would feel as close as possible to my Gibson.
Well, I can say without reservation that this Epiphone feels and plays just like my Gibson LP Standard. And, like a Gibson, this is a beautiful looking guitar. For the money, the build quality and finish really are unbelievable.
If you want a Les Paul Standard experience at a fraction of the cost of a Gibson, you can't go wrong with this Epiphone.

Consistently on target.

By J. Bishop from USA on May 11, 2023 Music Background: 54 years playing and still going.

Great guitar for the money. Sweetwater kept their word at every corner, sales rep. was 100% as usual. I can't think of anything else they could do. I'd give them an A+ for sure.

Epiphone 60's standard

By Sweetwater Customer from South Carolina on April 2, 2023

Beautiful and great playing and sounding Les Paul.
Get the plek pro if you have the extra money.
You won't regret it.
I own a Gibson Les Paul studio and a Epiphone Les Paul 60's tribute and a PRS 594 S2 and this is my favorite.

My Favorite Guitar I Own

By Trevor Bennett from Springfield, MO on January 6, 2023 Music Background: Self Producer

This thing feels insanely high quality for the price. If you can't afford a Gibson, the Epiphone will get you 95% of the way there. The only difference is the label on the headstock and the pickups, which you could change to Gibsons later if you want. Even that being said, I'm pretty sure there are Epiphones on this site with Gibson pickups for a couple hundred dollars more. Either way, if you're in the market for a Les Paul and can't drop thousands, this guitar is a crazy good bang for your buck. Being primarily a Strat player most of my guitar life, I own a Fender HSS Strat and a PRS Silver Sky, and I wanted something a little heftier. The feel and tone of this Les Paul blew me away. Every piece of hardware on it feels superior to any of my other axes, and even the Gibson strings that come on it made me rethink my string game. Highly highly recommend!

Hard to put down

By Verne Thibodeaux from Georgetown, TX on November 25, 2022

I just received this guitar a few days ago. It's already my favorite. Love the slim taper neck, and the probucker pickups are great. The pickups are fine on clean tones, but where they really shine is when the gain is cranked up. Build quality is very good, and it's a beautiful instrument. I prefer a rosewood fretboard, but find the Indian laurel to be completely acceptable. Only 2 negatives: 1. No coil splitting option, 2. it's a heavy guitar. This doesn't matter much to me because as a hobbyist, I typically play sitting down. But I can see that if you play standing, this could get tiring after a while.
But these are minor quibbles - overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Finally, kudos to Dave Hoffman, who held my hand during the 3 month period it took to get a new shipment in.

Perfect Guitar

By SoCal Buckeye from SoCal on August 2, 2022 Music Background: 20+ years playing experience.

Purchased as a gift for my dad's retirement. He is in love with this guitar. He said the Bourbon Burst looks even better in person versus the Sweetwater photos. He didn't find a flaw on it and the playability out of the box was amazing. He did a setup on it and he called me and said it sounds and plays even better. My dad wasn't a real big Les Paul fan, but after this purchase he stated this was the nicest guitar he's owned and played. Epiphone has their act together and they're firing on all cylinders. Very competitive at this price range and makes one ask if the price of a Gibson LP is worth it. Considering how difficult it is for most dealers across USA to keep Epiphone Les Pauls in stock, I think the masses have spoken.

Last and certainly not least, thanks go out to my Sweetwater Sales Engineer, Nick "Saint Nick" Rice. He's my go-to guy at Sweetwater and I call him Saint Nick because he makes it feel like December 25th with each order!

Great guitar, but an excellent guitar with a free cap mod

By Steven Renfrow from Bend, OR on June 24, 2022 Music Background: Blues guitar and harmonica

So I got the Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60's in Bourbon Burst for the slim taper neck, beautiful looking guitar. I was disappointed with the muddy, dark neck position pick-up. I rated the guitar as delivered a 4 but now it's a 10. So there is a FREE simple fix, the neck pickup capacitor needs to be in the 50's wiring position. As simple as moving the capacitor between lugs on the neck vol and tone pots. Google is your friend. Takes 5 minutes and makes the neck pick up shine. Like night and day difference! I left the bridge cap alone as I didn't hear any tone issue there. How I made the guitar a 10 IMHO, I replaced the pick-ups with S.D. Slash aph-2s Alnico II pro set and I used MoJo Tone vitamin-T .022uf caps and 50's Les Paul wiring. This guitar is now a 10!

Another Flawless Gem from Sweetwater!

By Burton Clarke from Saint David, IL on June 15, 2022 Music Background: I have played off and on for 60 years. I earned my first archtop acoustic guitar on a paper route. Taught myself all the cowboy chords from the book that came with it. Turned my fingers to hamburger the first few weeks. Been hooked ever since.

I've only had my Epiphone 60's Bourbon Burst Les Paul Standard for a few days now, but I've got to say that this is a spectacular guitar. I don't care what country it was made in, it is flawless, and plays and sounds like a dream. Sounds great clean, and it sounds great crunchy. A little compression and delay, and it will even give my Tele a run for the money. The finish is stunning. Now, I will admit that I paid to have this guitar Plek'd before I even received it, so I don't know what the action was like before. I wanted a perfect guitar and I got it! A big thanks goes out to my sound engineer Nick Graham for making sure it got to me just like I wanted it. I was a bit concerned that the pickups might be a little too hot for me, but not now. You can dial it back clean no problem. If I change anything in the future - and in hindsight, I probably should have done that when I ordered it - I would go for the locking tuners. No big deal though; she's a keeper!

Amazing instrument

I have always wanted a quality electric guitar but still be conscious of budget. This has blown me away. Came in pristine condition, plays and sounds even better than she looks! Even for my small hands, it is such an easy instrument to play on. I have already played it till my fingers bled... lol... well pretty darned close! Thanks Sweetwater!!!

My New Baby

By Scottsw1 from AURORA, CO on February 12, 2022

Thank you Sweetwater for my Epiphone Les Paul in Burbon Burst. Found one on the site when no one else had them. Mine is a thing of beauty. I have searched and haven't found any flaws in the finish.

Setup was near perfect and just a minor tweak on tuning and it was cranking out tunes! Tones are a little deeper than my Epi SG and it sounds great and plays nice.

Everyone mentions how LPs weigh more, but it is not that heavy for me as I play seated. I like it more and more as my playing time increases with it. Only wish I had bought it sooner as I probably would not have bought some other guitars I have.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60's

By DB from Ky on August 24, 2021

This guitar is great! First, it looks much better in person than in the stock photos. When I opened it up, I was blown away by its looks. Cover up the headstock, and you can't tell by looking that it's not a Gibson. It looks exactly like the Gibson by which it was inspired. What a beautiful guitar!
It feels, plays, and sounds great. The sound I get when playing it through my Blues Junior IV is quite impressive. I love this guitar.
If you are in the market for a Les Paul, but don't have the budget for a Gibson, jump on this one! I really don't think you will be disappointed.

The flame is awesome the pick ups are killer. If your on the fence go ahead and grab one. Oh get the hard case. Just the best guitar.

Try and put it down, I dare you

By Mike lewis from Dayton ohio on October 21, 2020 Music Background: Guitarist for decades

I had struck gold with an online raffle, and quickly scooped up a $2700 LP. It was gorgeous, played flawlessly, sounded like angels on a playground. After a few days and some reflection, alot of comparing within my collection, and I sent it back! Then I adjusted my cart for a few items and that would include this 60's Epi LPS.
Was i worried? Not really, I have a couple custom pros that are incredible too. So, take that little review for the $2700 model up there, lose your ego, and copy and paste it under the Epiphone, this guitar is a work of art and is undeniable certainty that you van have an absolutely stunning instrument for well under a grand, try it and see, best $600 you can plug in , love it.

Fantastic recreation of a Les Paul standard

By William P. from NORTH PORT, FL on October 19, 2020

I opted for the 60's Bourbon Burst as the neck profile fits my hand better. The look, feel and sound of this guitar is great. I personally have never own A Gibson Les Paul but I have played several of them back in the 70's. This guitar at around 9 lbs is slightly heavier than other solid bodies I own but it is light compared to the Les Paul's I played in the past which were closer to 12 lbs. You may just have well hung a concrete block around your neck. The guitar I received is flawless. I didn't get the professional setup since I prefer to do that myself, however the guitar came in a very playable condition needing only small adjustments to fit my preferences. It's obvious Epiphone has stepped up their game with these new models. If you ever wanted to own a Les Paul without the high price tag this is the guitar for you. Also, I was very impressed with the staff at Sweetwater they go out of their way to answer your questions. I will definitely buy from them again.

My new favorite Electric Guitar!!!

By Bran in Black on October 18, 2020 Music Background: Local singer and guitarist

I play a Fender Player Telecaster, and a Squire 60's Jazzmaster. I was beginning to become a Slash fan but I can't afford the signature models. Then I saw this guitar and it looked like the same one from the November rain video. So I bought it and it plays the best out all of my electric guitars.

First of all, it feels great. I have heard of Les Pauls being very heavy. This one is just right. Unlike my Jazzmaster, it is not to thin, and unlike my Tele, it doesn't feel like a chunk of would. This on just so nice with the feel.

This guitar sounds great. The Rhythm pick up is able get a very nice down to earth kind of tone no mater what amp or pedal you use. The Treble side is very good for leads and hard rocking rhythm no matter what pedal you use. The middle is just nice blend of the two. Even though I said that the sound good no mater what pedal you use, they will give you nice with what ever you feel like playing.

Overall this is a great guitar anI recommend that y'all buy the Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60's Electric Guitar, bourbon bust. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I do.

Best Les Paul I've ever played

By Steve Cloud from Lousiana on October 13, 2020

I've owned many Les Pauls over the years, some Epiphone and some Gibson. Just never could bond with them in the long term. I had pretty much sworn off the LP and decided not to mess with them anymore. However, when I saw this new model, I was intrigued. The new headstock looks great, the new burst color is fantastic, and it just seemed to have a different look about it. So, I ordered one after seeing one with an amazing top on it at Sweetwater.

Let me just say, this is a fine instrument. Fit and finish is superb. No odd finish flaws, fretwork is really good, no sharp ends or dead frets. Looks as good in person as it did online. Tone is fantastic. Gone are the dull, lifeless Epiphone pickups of yesterday. These pickups sound so good! I tweaked the setup slightly, lowered the action a bit, and it's now even better in the playing department. Absolutely love this guitar!

The real deal

By Brad on October 11, 2020 Music Background: Life long guitarist

I've got to say that I am quite pleased with my 60's standard. Though I've had it now for only a week I'm very happy.
The thing is a beauty, the finish is about as nice as I've seen, the binding is gorgeous and that's just the looks.
The tones are amazing playing it clean or with gain. The neck is true and the frets are perfect.
I'm so glad that I chose the Epiphone Les Paul 60's standard. It is now my go to guitar. Thanks Sweet Water you guys are great

Finally found the right Les Paul

By Stephen Cloud from Shreveport, LA on October 6, 2020

Over the past 25 years, I've owned a ton of Les Pauls. Some Gibson, some Epiphone. Never could find one that I really bonded with. Pickups were not great, didn't like the color, or just didn't like the way they played. All of them got sold along the way. I have other Epiphones that I love, so I still watch their lineup for announcements, etc.

I saw that they had made some changes to the Les Paul lineup, including better pickups, a freshened headstock, new finishes, and I was interested. Saw this particular one on Sweetwater's comparison page and ordered it on the spot. Looked absolutely awesome.

Well, it did not disappoint. Fit and finish are superb, playability is first-rate, and these humbuckers sound absolutely fantastic. Fretwork is superb, no dead frets, plays great all over the fretboard. The new knobs, with position indicators were also a nice upgraded touch. It honestly is a better guitar than any Les Paul I've ever owned. Only wish is that it came with a case, but that's a minor thing. Love what Epiphone is putting out these days!

Epiphone 60’s Les paul

By Keith Shelley from Clairfield TN on July 29, 2020 Music Background: Been playing guitar for over 20 years

Sweetwater has the best staff and customer service!! I made a few calls to them before purchasing and each time the people I talked to were super nice and helpful. Anything I purchase from now on will be from them. I chose to have my guitar plekd and setup before it was shipped to me and honestly it was well worth the extra $... I checked every string on every fret and there is no buzzing anywhere!! Guitar plays like a dream!! Couldn't be happier with it. No scratches or scuff marks anywhere. I can honestly say that my guitar arrived in perfect condition. I have owned 6 epiphones and 2 Gibsons. And I am happier with this epiphone that any guitar I have ever had. I knew they made a lot of changes with epiphone in 2020 but I was completely blowed away when I first took it out of the box. It is absolutely gorgeous!! And feels different than the older epiphones. You can tell you are holding a high quality instrument when it's in your hands. Epiphone knocked it out of the park with this one!! And the pickups sound really good. Usually the first thing I do is change pickups but I don't feel the need to change these. Again I am completely blown away with this guitar. If you are thinking about purchasing don't hesitate just do it!! You be glad you didn't pay an arm and a leg just to have the Gibson name on the headstock.

Epiphone 60’s Les Paul Standard

By Ed Skara from Northeast New Jersey area on June 15, 2020 Music Background: Been playing for about 40 years, cover bands and originals band.

1st off, let me just say how awesome Sweetwater is, my guitar was shipped within a few days after placing my order.2nd, my Epi LP was ready to play right out of the box, the tech guys at Sweetwater did their 55 point inspection and my guitar was set up perfect, neck was perfect and straight, no string buzz, string height was spot on the way I like it, cudos to the tech guys. There was not a single flaw with this guitar. The bourbon burst finish is simply fantastic, the slim tapered neck, makes it so easy to play. Plugged in, this baby rocks, with great crunch from the pro bucket pickups with great sustain. If you did a blindfold test, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in sound/tone and playability between Epiphone and Gibson LP's. Epiphone has really stepped up their game with the new LP line. So, I highly recommend if you want a LP, but don't want to break the bank or go into hock, then definitely go and get one of these beauty's., or maybe 2 or 3 for the price of 1 Gibson LP.

The hype is pretty real, folks

By Des Vega from Florida on September 27, 2022 Music Background: Professional live/recording musician

I've been playing my '05 Gibson Les Paul Standard for almost 20 years. There comes a day in every guitarist's life when they have to give #1 a little break now and again. I'm naturally skeptical, don't buy into hype/gimmicks/BS. I just wanted a good Les Paul. I bought this thinking "backup"... and it's so good that now it's more like the Page #2 or

My particular instrument (I do NOT believe all Les Pauls sound the same) sounds huge, fat. The initial attack doesn't get swallowed up into the Mahogany (thanks Maple), and in the right conditions the note blooms and sustains like a horn or bowed instrument. It doesn't fight any more than you'd want it (for a Les Paul). It can also be heavy and aggressive without ever being overly bright... In fact, you might wanna turn up the Treble a little (or do what I did and replace the pickups with something brighter). It reminds me of the '69 Custom that my neighbor has... Fat, heavy in both tone and weight, and a righteously smooth operator all around.

I did, however, completely gut the electronics (pickups included) and put in a Seymour Duncan '59/Custom Hybrid (with a Push-Push Parallel tone pot) and a DiMarzio PAF Master Bridge (in the NECK position). This was not because of the inferior quality of the stock electronics/pickups... On the contrary, the ProBucker pickups and wiring harness (with CTS pots) were taken out and used to replace the electronics of a 2006 Epi LP Standard with the dreaded "Mud buckers", the Alnico Classic Hots. Much better guitar now... And mine is almost as good as my Gibson, totally giggable and even stands in for a Tele at times with the parallel bridge pickup.

I just wanted to thank Cassie my Sales Rep for working with me on getting this thing. She is amazing.

If you are expecting this Les Paul to be a Gibson. It isn't. It's an Epiphone. As long as you set your expectations to be like that your going to love this guitar.

So how does it look? Once you get it in person. It looks really nice. Mine didn't have any issues with the fit and finish of it. Binding is great. The burst is really nice. Headstock is nice and black with everything very crisp and clear. Back of the neck and of the guitar is a pretty even finish. Overall it looks great.

Body - The burst looks great. What the pictures don't really show though is the maple is a tad bit on the orange side when in the light. The back has a veneer that is placed over it to cover up the multiple pieces that were glued together to make the body - and in my case it was laid at a slight angle. If you have OCD this will drive you crazy. For me... I don't care. It still looks good. The entire thing has like a super heavy coat of poly sprayed over it so short of shooting it your probably not going to chip the finish. All the hardware looks great. They even matched the pickguard and plastic surrounds with the aged cream look. The reflector knobs look great and the pots do what they are supposed to do. The switch is... fine but kind of loud and clicky which you can hear through the amp when you decide to flick it.

Neck - I went with the 60's neck as I didn't want a baseball bat. It's still a bit chunky. Reaching my thumb around is a bit of chore but I don't have ginormous hands to begin with. Looking at the fretboard and inlays - I couldn't be happier. The pearloid are set evenly and I don't see any epoxy or router marks around them. The binding and frets are nice and smooth along the edges. And the back of the neck is heavily sprayed with that poly finish again. If you have sweaty hands I can see this thing sticking to them pretty bad.

Headstock - I really like the new (old) look for the headstock. The past versions always looked... bad. The new one looks fantastic. You won't mistake it for a Gibson but I really like the shape. The Epiphone inlay is very clear and crisp with that pearl look to it. The Les Paul is silk screened nicely. And its all again buried deep with that poly finish. The Klusen tuners are super smooth and only need to make minor adjustments to get it in tune when needed.

OK hows it sound? It sounds very close to a Les Paul. It's never going to sound like PAF's. But when you crank the gain up and throw it up to 11 on an amp this is where it really shines. Its got that great humbucker sound. But it is a tad brighter. When I put the neck pickup on it seemed to get a tad muddy on the low end and I'm still debating on whether I like it. I usually just keep the Bridge on and let er' rip.

Now... onto the not so nice. This is out of the box without a setup mind you so please take this with a grain of salt. The fretwork isn't the best. When I went over it I hit like 6-8 high spots causing it to buzz or even cut out slightly. The factory really needs to do better QC on the final setups. The string action is a tad higher than I like. And overall play ability is rather stiff. It comes with .10's on them but even with lighter strings its still going to make you have to work for it if you do any type of bends.

The pickup jack has a slight issue with the cable not seating in all the way. It'll still play and it hasn't fallen out yet - but you can push on it and it will shove the jack out a tad. This indicates either an issue with the jack itself or possibly a wire in the way - its an easy fix at least.

And finally - This thing is HEAVY. Not as in heavy metal. As in its a boat anchor type of heavy. Its at around 9lbs and is by far the heaviest guitar I've ever owned.

If you do plan on getting this guitar I highly recommend spending the $$ on getting it Plek'd and Setup before you pick it up. Mine will need to have some of the frets filed and re crowned to get rid of the buzzing. Other than that I couldn't be happier with it. It exactly what I expected to get for a guitar in this price range.

Miles away from what a Les Paul should be

By Carlos Gutierrez from CA on June 8, 2020

As long as you set your expectations low for this purchase you will be okay. It sounds decent and looks good but the true feeling of a Les Paul is not there. The fretboard feels rough and the fret job is shotty. There is a rough feeling when bending by the 12th fret even after oiling the fretboard and polishing off the frets. Mine came with some severe quality issues. There is an excessive amount of paint on the binding, in my opinion, it should have never left the factory, it is beyond me how it got past the "55 point inspection". In addition, there was a 4 inch scratch on the poly finish from the poker chip to the bottom humbucker. The only reason, I didn't return this LP was that it has some amazing figuring both on the maple veneer and the neck. For the price point, there are way better options out there.

Really Poor Quality

I usually don't write reviews especially bad ones however, this Epiphone "Inspired by Gibson " Standard Les Paul is really terrible…. Fret rattling with notes fretting out above the 12th fret… I purchased this guitar last Christmas 2022 and have never played a gig with it … I have purchased many instruments and equipment from Sweetwater and have always received excellent customer service.. but this was the worse item I have ever bought. It is a waste of money and no where near a Gibson Les Paul .. scratchy and treble sounding pickups and bad frets … unfortunately my salesperson is no longer working for Sweetwater and I'm stuck with this inferior product.

Don't waste your time or money on this wanna be Gibson
