Acoustic-electric Guitar with Spruce Top, Rosewood Back and Sides, Mahogany Neck, and Ebony Fingerboard - Natural

Epiphone’s Hummingbird Deluxe EC, crafted in collaboration with Gibson Custom, reimagines Gibson’s iconic square-shoulder acoustic guitar through the lens of a modern approach, accentuated by elevated tonewoods, a cutaway design, and contemporary performance-driven features. Showcasing a solid spruce top reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing, solid rosewood back and sides, a 1-piece genuine mahogany neck, and a highly accessible 20-fret ebony fingerboard, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC delivers a full-bodied, luxurious sound with prominent bass tones, natural high-end sparkle, and a mature resonance courtesy of the thermal-aging process. The Hummingbird Deluxe EC comes equipped with an LR Baggs VTC Bronze electronics system that helps faithfully amplify the guitar’s organic character for honest and authentic performances, whether in the studio or on the stage. In reverence to the original model, the Hummingbird Deluxe EC is adorned with the iconic etched Hummingbird pickguard design, mother-of-pearl inlays decorating the fingerboard and Gibson “open book” headstock, and a 1.73-inch bone nut at the top of the neck further complemented by a compensated bone saddle and bone pins.

Couldn't Be Happier!

By Blake S. from Chesterton, IN
Music Background: Living room player and porch picker

I went in to Sweeteater with the intention of purchasing a more much expensive model (Gibson Hummingbird) and saw this hanging underneath. After playing each for over an hour I noticed I kept coming back to the Epiphone. The sound, the feel, the binding on the fretboard, and the weight just sat with me perfectly. My only complaint is that I now play a $ guitar more than my $ guitars. I guess it's a good problem to have.

Review Update

By Mel from Bloomsburg, PA
Music Background: Gigging Musician

I have had my Epiphone Hummingbird Deluxe on a number of gigs since my purchase and I have been very impressed with the playability and sound. I have handed it off to both my Son In-law and Daughter In-law to try. Both experienced players who each own 3 plus acoustic guitars and they were also impressed with the playability and sound. I have friends who are gigging musicians come up to me after gigs and comment that the guitar was great sounding.

A great value compared to a Gibson Hummingbird Standard EC

By Mel from Bloomsburg, PA
Music Background: Gigging Musician

I purchased this model because it checked all of the boxes when it came to features. Torrefied Sitka Spruce top, 1-piece genuine mahogany neck, solid rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, LR Baggs VTC Bronze electronics, Gibson reverse belly ebony bridge, compensated bone saddle, bone saddle pins, Grover Rotomatic tuners, Gibson "open book" headstock decorated with MOP Epiphone logo, Gibson Crown inlays and etched Gibson Custom double diamond logo and the Hummingbird pickguard.

The first guitar I received had some aesthetic quality issues and actually did not sound much better than my $399 Epiphone AJ 220 SCE and returned the guitar with no problems due to the quality issues. The second quitar I received had no quality issues which you should expect from a $1,300 guitar and it actually sounded better. It was more responsive, had better sustain, and I could feel the vibration of the strings not only through the sitka top but the neck as well.

Epiphone has done it with these new acoustic guitars and then some !

By jerry d. from ripon, CA

I have had top of the line guitars Martin d-41 guild d-55 Taylor 814ce Gibson songwriter and hummingbird ect… and these new Epiphones are right there with them and even surpass some, I bought a $ Martin D-41 and it came with plastic bridge pins ( never really got over that ) yet this guitar is all solid woods one piece neck real mother of pearl inlays and a bone nut , saddle and pins , on top of that the playability is as good as the rest and sound is too. Everything I have been waiting for and then some , Honestly prefer this over the other one like this in everyway
