Electro-Harmonix 2020 V2 Mini Pedal Tuner Reviews

Mini Pedal Tuner with High-visibility Display, Pitch and Flat Buttons

Between the Big Muff Pi, POG3, and myriad other EHX pedals gracing your pedalboard, you may believe that there’s not an inch of room for another addition — that is, until you check out the Electro-Harmonix 2020 V2 mini pedal tuner. This chromatic tuner covers a range of B0 to B7 and operates at ±1-cent accuracy to achieve some of the finest guitar tunings. It also features a high-visibility display to ensure you can make those minor adjustments even after the stage goes dark. Combine all that with three flat tuning modes and a Pitch button to change the reference frequency, and it’s easy to see how much is packed into this pint-size pedal. Lastly, the 2020 V2 includes a True Bypass / Buffered Bypass switch, a versatile feature that allows Sweetwater guitarists to integrate this pedal into virtually any rig configuration. The chromatic tuning pedal is arguably the most important pedal in your lineup, and with the Electro-Harmonix 2020 V2, you get set-saving tuning accuracy while only sacrificing minimal pedalboard space.

great small tuner

By Sweetwater Customer

I just got my Electro-Harmonix 2020 V2 tuner pedal the other day from sweetwater. It is small however the display is very bright and large. Great quality, great price, its a great pedal & It works!! I had a Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner Pedal that just stopped even with the reset and decided to go small.. . Thanks Nick Graham (sales Engineer). Ken P from Reno.

Excellent little tuner Pedal!

By Jesse N. from FUQUAY VARINA, NC

The Electro-Harmonix 2020 V2 tuner pedal is one of the best tuners I have used! First of all, the size is absolutely perfect. It is small enough to fit on virtually any pedal board, yet the screen is large enough and bright enough to be seen clearly, even when standing from a distance. Second, the pitch, flat, and buffer on/off toggle are super valuable features to have. And last, the aesthetics are very nice. I know that performance is more important than looks, but man, that sage green with the ehx logo really does look good on my board. Overall, great quality and great price, making it a great little pedal!

Day 1 - so far so good!

By Zach from Philadelphia

I couldn't find a review of this tuner so i decided to take a chance.

I have an extremely small and dense pedal board and needed something small to fit on the board.

I considered the tc polytune 3 mini (which is currently out of stock), the korg pitchblack x mini, the Peterson mini. I kept skipping over the 2020 tuner due to 1 cent tolerance and past qc issues with ehx.

The Peterson would have been a perfect fit except that they decided to put the power jack on the side and a usb c port on the back. The polytune was out of stock. The korg display for mixed reviews.

So...i bought the ehx. It is the only tuner that comes with a power supply as far as I'm aware. Sure I'll never use it. But it is there to gift to a friend.

The good - it fits! It tunes! It is fast! I checked it with neck and bridge humbuckers with no noticeable lag or false readings except for the first moment it turns on.

I checked it against a snark super snark and both agreed on pitch. The snark is fine but for jamming in noisy environments, it gives a lot of false readings. Additionally, if you are happy with your run of the mill snark, this will do that but better. Anything finer than 1 cent may be great for tech work but for live, i want to get in tune quickly.

The bad - so far, the only think i think is bad is that i had to remove the bottom rubber to get it to take dual lock for my pedal board. It is 2026 and this is a non battery powered pedal. Assume we are going to use it on a board. Lose the rubber with a hollowed out center.

What could be better - ehx, if you are reading this - ditch the power adapter and give me relay true bypass with a soft switch. Also, the true bypass/buffered switch is comically tiny. I'm a fuzz guy so true bypass is a must.

Lately, the dimensions are slightly wider than advertised. Roughly 1.9" wide when you include the jacks.

I'll post an update if anything changes, but so far, I'm really happy with the tuner.

I'm going to post a picture of my pedal board. To understand what is going on and why only the input Jack of the tuner is being used, there is a remote triggered AB switcher under the board. When I was considering tuners, some didn't have the required true bypass so I planned for the worst. Additionally, relay switching is quieter and more reliable than traditional latching stomp switches.
