Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Custom Left-Handed Electric Guitar - Ebony Reviews
Tony Iommi has once again teamed up with Epiphone and unleashed the limited-edition Tony Iommi SG Custom solidbody electric guitar. A limited-edition version of his iconic SG, Tony's instructions to Epiphone were to make his SG Custom something he would play onstage. To that end, your amp will be punished by a set of his Gibson Iommi signature pickups. And your fingers will wrap around a 24-fret bound ebony fretboard, with his defining cross inlays. Epiphone built this LTD Iommi SG Custom to crank out some of the heaviest riffs of all time.

WOW
I just purchased this guitar as graduation present for my middle boy(I have three sons) , Kaleb. It was a very special moment for both of us! The first thing he did was take it out of the box , plugged into the (broken down" amp he could find, a bad cord , and started slashing away!
He didn't even try to tune it in. He started picking when he was an infant. At age seven I got him his first electric lefty, from Sweetwater of course, got him some lessons for a couple months and he has never stopped playing!!
He is dominantly right hand, the lessons only lasted a short period, once he got the basics he figured it out on his own. Thanks to the Team at Sweetwater, Gibson, Epiphone, Tony Iommi, An outstanding piece of Art!
So much value!
If you're on the fence about buying this guitar then get off the fence. This guitar is light weight, the body is resonant and the pick ups scream but are balanced at the same time. The ebony board with the cross inlays are elegant and evil. But as with most SG's there is a bit of neck dive but just get you a good thick strap with suede or some other grabby material and you won't have any issues. I have a USA Standard SG and this one looks better and plays and sounds just as good. As always Cody took great care of me and followed to make sure I recieved it ok and that I was happy with it.
A Beast
This guitar is fantastic. I've been playing for 36 years and own 3 other Gibson USA SGs. This guitar is up to par with those. The only major difference between this and a Gibson SG standard is body weight (Epiphone is lighter) and the bevels are actually different. The Pickups in this guitar are hella hot! Very good. Right out of the box this guitar was ready to rock. No complaints other than, at its price, I feel it should come with a hard shell case.
Amazing SG
I bought this to add to my extensive SG collection (6 in total). Right up there with USA made SGs costing twice as much.
The Riffmaster Came Through Big Time
I've been wanting one of these guitars for a while, and I finally pulled the trigger. I have an SG 400 Pro, and play a lot of 70's stuff; Sabbath, AC/DC... I'm the kind of person that gets attached to stuff, and I don't want to play anything else. This guitar looks and feels like a Gibson. I played a $1500 Gibson a couple weeks ago, and this Epiphone was better in my opinion. My current SG I have a Sabbra Cadabra trebble booster to try and get that Iommi guitar sound. This guitar does all that right out of the box, no effects needed. It sounds tremendous, and plays even better. I may eventually buy another guitar some day, but it will probably be a long time, and will never over take this SG. The fact that it comes with an autograph from the Riffmaster himself, just makes this even more special. I am one of 2,000 people that will get to own one of these guitars. I feel blessed.
Tony Iommi SG
My first purchase from Sweetwater and I have to say, most excellent service. This guitar plays and sounds excellent. No fret buzz anywhere just smooth playing. Tone is excellent. Action on the neck is smooth making transition nice and clean. I couldn't be more satisfied with the overall quality of this guitar. A big thank you to Sweetwater for excellent product and service. I'll be back.
Epiphone Tony Iommi SG
This guitar has it all, the looks, the feel, the sound, and the sustain. The ebony fretboard and the cross inlays separate it from the pack. What really made this a great purchase for me was the top notch setup and customer support I got from Sweetwater. Their staff goes above and beyond to make your purchase experience one you won't soon forget. It's always nice to have a " go to " person when you have a question or a problem.
Real metal

Tony Iommi SG
If you see one grab it without hesitation! What a great player! Super smooth easy riff ebony fretboard. A day hasn't gone by that I haven't played it. Great PUPs, great sound, great guitar all around. This axe is made in China but looks, feels , and plays as well or better than many higher end guitars I have owned over the decades. This guitar is sleek, cool, and will never leave my collection.
The only reason I failed to give the guitar a 5 star rating is that it seems to still be settling in. New strings, new environment, and probably can use a set up to get her 100%.
Also the balance of the axe is slightly neck heavy.
Just one issue
Being a lefty, I was happy to see this special edition come out, and like the others have said this guitar delivers out of the box. My only issue is I wish they had put the numbers on the guitar. Meaning if they only made 2000, under the serial number I would have loved to see which number of the 2000 I had.
Tony Iommi SG Custom ( left handed) Guitar
To the folks at Sweetwater, Thank you for sending me a fine guitar. I try to set a little time each day to play and practice chord progressions. This guitar is well worth the money, and the people at Sweetwater
show that they really care that the customer is happy. I will keep Sweetwater in mind for future purchases
of guitar gear. Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
