Darn good practice guitar

By Matt from Georgia on December 19, 2022 Music Background: Old jazz aficionado

So I did not want to spend a fortune on a practice guitar. I have a wonderful Heritage golden eagle jazz special that is my love. Had an old beat up junk guitar for practice. Well long story short "rat bag" finally went to guitar heaven. Just worn out. Hence me buying this for practice only. I must say this little guy really surprised me. Nice looking with pleasant light weight and great size with standard neck. I see several folks mention guitar will not stay tuned. I play a lot of jazz and find the tuning pretty good for a low priced guitar. It does not require constant tuning but you will have to touch up from time to time. If you only play once a week or less then, yes you will have tuning issues just like any other low priced guitar. For the money I spent I am pleased with the results at least from "clean" play on this guitar. This is not just for kids, this is a fine guitar for beginners or old pros who want a light easy guitar to travel with and one old jazz player for practice no matter where he goes!

This guitar looks beautiful.
Guitar arrived in tune & stays in tune.
Guitar is in tune on every fret.
Guitar sounds amazing, especially when I play it through my Blackstar Studios 10 6L6 AMP.
My Walrus Audio Auto Locking Guitar Strap is very comfortable and matches this guitar.

Guitar for Trucking

By David from Green Cove Springs, FL on May 16, 2020

I've been researching various guitars and small amps for quite some time. As a full time OTR truck driver I needed something quiet for my neighbors each night with the smallest foot print possible in the truck. The EG1 checked all the boxes.

It's very light and has a small body size. When I first opened the well made, durable and stylish gig bag I was a little worried it was too small. Which was put to rest after getting my hands around that full scale length neck. You have exactly the room needed to strum, pick and shred.

The EG1 also comes with a built in amp providing 4 different tones which all sounded very usable. I do wish moving between those tones was done a different way. EX: moving from Clean to Brown is two clicks and then two clicks to get back on the push only pot. I paired the guitar with the AKG k240 headphones which sounded and looked great.

So being on the road constantly this guitar was about being able to play quickly without disturbing others. Small size, built in tuner, no external amp due to the internal amp, 4 tones to cover lots of styles, exceptional craftsmanship and it looks the business. It just can not be beaten as a complete travel solution in a singular product.

Traveler EG-1

I am a comercial pilot, and this is the perfect guitar for me! Very light and easy to carry. I can plug a headset into it and not disturb anyone. Sound and quality are superb.

Amazing

By Seth Daugherty from Yorba Linda, CA on November 2, 2018

This is an incredible guitar. I love that it has a standard sized guitar neck yet is so easy to travel with. The pickup is amazing and the distortion and overdrive sound amazing. I honestly feel like playing this more than my PRS. Such a good feel and the action is great out of the box. You can't go wrong with the EG-1 if you love to play the guitar as much as possible and don't want to bother those around you, or need a travel guitar that sounds great and doesn't feel like a travel guitar when you're playing it.

After I made a few mods I have the perfect travel guitar

By Kevin from USA on November 14, 2020 Music Background: Hobby guitar player

The factory configuration is not bad but with a few extra dollars... you can mod this into something special. This will never take the place of your Les Paul, SG, or Strat, but you can turn it into a great hotel/travel guitar. My mods include:

1. Replaced stock pickups with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates bridge pickup purchased from Sweetwater too)
2. I removed the pickup bracket with the built-in tuner and replaced with a gold solid bracket...
3. Replaced standard tuners with locking tuners (you have to buy from Traveler, they are the only ones that will fit)
4.Installed a single coil pickup switch.
5.Buy a few VOX headphone amps( I have the metal and AC-30) Love the metal.
6. Get some decent headphones. I got Marshall headphones that are both blue tooth and cable so it is versatile for listening to music and plugging into my guitar. Plus it accentuates in the classic rock frequency range...

I gave it 4 stars as is but it is a 5 after my mods. Most music stores can make these mods if you for you. Just buy the parts you want. My advice is buy the guitar and see what you like and what you want to make better then go from there. Rock on!

Cool little guitar I have grown to be annoyed with

By Ritch Mckinney from Portland, OR on September 27, 2021 Music Background: Bass to Drums to Guitar (I know, weird)

I wanted a solid body mini guitar with built in pre-amp, this seemed awesome. Ahem, tuners suck, lose tune very quickly. Disappointing, I dropped $ on this axe, not here, but other big box company.. Anyone have one with suggestions on how to fix?? The actions is set low (old man with bad joints) and I use DR Dragon Skins 10-46.

At this price it should have a real Seymour Duncan

By Sweetwater Customer on June 14, 2020

Cool for what it is, but for this price it should have a real Seymour Duncan Humbucker
