Really fun!
Great little axe. The electronics work really well with headphones, play all night without waking everyone in the house. Small and light, easily transportable, mine goes with me everywhere. It's very well made, no flaws. I love it. I got mine from traveler direct before sweetwater carried this model, however, I buy gear from sweetwater and they are awesome.
Very impressed so far
I wanted something small, not so much for travel but for playing around the house. My main requirements were that it was comfortable to play seated, well balanced without a strap, and small enough to play on the couch. The headphone preamp was the main feature that made me decide on this model over the others. Turns out it's actually comfortable to play seated, and an unexpected bonus is not having the headstock, I can set it down pretty much anywhere without worrying about knocking it out of tune. I also find the tuners to be more convenient than the normal arrangement, since I can pluck a string with my right hand then turn the tuning peg without going anywhere. The frets all look good, no cosmetic issues anywhere. I seem to be getting just a bit of fret buzz on the 4th string around 5, but I'll wait a few weeks to see if that changes with the environment. Oh, and when playing on the overdrive or distortion settings, the sustain is just unreal, I wasn't expecting much for the size. Bonus is it's small enough I think I may be able to play it in the passenger seat on road trips when the wife takes turns driving!
Traveler Guitars poor finish update
Traveler did the right thing. They replaced my guitar due to my finish problems. Now a happy camper. Replaced the matt finish model with a glossy finish model. Took a while but they came thru in the end. Thanks to Traveler for their excellent customer service. My faith has been restored.
Excellent Travel Guitar
I love this guitar. It's compact but puts out a nearly full-sized sound. Its built in amp is simple and easy to use. It has a nice shape and looks great, but the curve of the lower body keeps it from resting on my leg just right when I play it sitting down. Overall, I'm impressed with the feel and sound of this thing. Excellent travel guitar!
Traveler EG-1 Blackout Guitar Review
Have had my EG-1 for about a week now. Im a beginner and wanted a small convenient practice guitar within my price range. Im also trying to lean ukulele. I have both uke and guitar sitting on stands to make them easily accessible with hope I will practice more. Found I was always reaching for the uke because it was small and easy to deal with when kicked back in my lazy boy. Decided I wanted a small guitar for the same reason. Came across the EG-1. Liked the on board headphone preamp idea. Figured anything that would make practice easier and more convenient was a good thing. So far the EG-1 has foot the bill for me. Seems to make a nice couch guitar. My finger tips are sore again. Only negative of this experience was with FedEx and their poor customer service. Guitar didn't arrive until several days past initial scheduled delivery date.

I must update above after a little less than 6 months of ownership. Very unhappy with quality of finish on the EG-1 Blackout. After less than 6 months of light use I developed a spot about the size of a half dollar where the finish wore away down to the bare wood. Must have been caused my the oils/acids from the tip of my pinky bracing on that spot. Called Traveler and all they would do is offer me a discount on a new guitar. They left me hanging with a guitar having an inferior finish. VERY disappointed in the quality of their matte black finish. Strongly advise avoiding this finish. Finish is NOT covered by warranty. Only consider gloss finishes from this manufacturer or better yet get a different brand.
Nut job
Bought the guitar in April 2018 as a fun size practice guitar, really liked the idea of plugging headphones and music source into guitar for practice. That said, after a few months the G string started buzzing on open notes, then recently the B started too. Both so bad that you can"t tune the guitar to open strings, no sound, just the thwack of strings laying against the first fret. I have pics to show how the nut is sinking in that area but no option here to upload. I"ll need to buy a new nut and have it installed, worth it? Guess I have to or junk it. Traveler needs to step up quality control. Disappointing.
