The Best Acoustic Guitar I’ve Ever Played

By Sweetwater Customer from Indianapolis, IN on March 9, 2023 Music Background: Professional Amateur

I've been a Takamine loyalist for as long as I've been playing the guitar. Not consciously, mind you; I just always found them the most pleasing to the ear. My first acoustic was a non-electric black dreadnought that I bought for $200. It served me well for a good while, but then I needed an acoustic-electric, so then I moved up to a Takamine with the NEX body shape. While it sounded fantastic, the neck was awful. Seemed to suck all moisture out of the room, and spit it into the ether.

Fast forward to last month. I've got a little more money, decide I want a guitar that sounds AND feels good. I was dead set on buying a Taylor, since I knew from experience of playing other people's that their guitars felt like electrics and sounded pretty good (although their plugged in sound I found somewhat lacking). Well, I saw this thing, loved the look of it, and bought it without even playing it.

This thing is magic. It feels good, it sounds good, and the plugged in sound is the best I've ever heard out of an acoustic-electric. The shape reminds me of my first acoustic, and the neck plays like butter.

Credit to sweetwater for their inspection process, because this thing came out of the box feeling like my own personal guitar tech set it up just for me.

I'll never need another acoustic again. I'm covered.

Great axe

By Chris from California on February 3, 2023 Music Background: 45 yrs of enjoyment playing guitar.

Thanks to Rob Kramer and the staff while he was out for getting a return for a guitar that didn't work for me and sending out this great Takamine in it's place. The guitar is gorgeous and so well constructed. I SET it up to my liking, low, easy playing and it works and plays great with custom lights, 11-52's.

Better than I anticipated

By Roy from Ohio on January 3, 2023

I am absolutely blown away with the quality of this guitar. I've owned more expensive guitars but none have had a better total sound quality or played better than this Takamine EF360sc TT and yes the Torrefied Top definitely gives it an aged sound. This guitar sounds great unplugged with a great balance and plenty of volume and if you decide you want to use an amp for a larger room you will be amazed at the acoustic sound coming through the speakers. Takamine definitely figured out how to give you the best of both worlds. My rep was Jordan and went above and beyond to help me find the perfect match for me.

90's style dreadnought perfected...

By JPDC from Colorado on December 21, 2022

There is not a comparable American made dreadnought that can match the tone un-amplified, or an electronics suite as sophisticated as installed on the EF360SC-TT which perfectly captures the sound of this instrument. For some reason this guitar has flown under the radar a bit, and I am **** lucky to have found one. the action is low, the neck is almost electric guitar like. I string this with EADG .10 gauge with BE strung as .11 gauge and not only are there no issues, the guitar comes alive with light strings. A truly epic instrument...

EF360SC-TT

By Brent from Meridian Idaho on November 9, 2022 Music Background: Folk, rock and country

The guitar showed up immaculate from Sweetwater. The only online store I truly trust. Kris Eckman is my sales engineer and is excellent at helping people pick out what they need in a guitar. My fret hand has an old injury, my index finger tendon was severed and needed to be surgically repaired. My hand strength and stamina has been affected as a result. This guitar plays smooth and easy as butter but has the punch, boom and clarity that I need for the folk, rock and country that I like playing. Excellent quality and stays in tune.

GREAT ACOUSTIC WITH FANTASTIC ELECTRIC PRE-AMP

By DAVE D from CLEARWATER FL on November 9, 2022

Takamine has made the perfect acoustic-electric guitar that won't break the bank! This guitar is extremely well built, to say the least. The overall construction on mine is solid from headstock to endpin. I was surprised that the the nut slots were perfectly notched for 53-12 strings. The medium jumbo frets are perfectly seated, polished, without any jagged edges or sharp points. The torrefied top gives off a nice amber look and the guitar, all though brand new, does have an aged acoustic tone. The neck is smooth and easy to play as well, plus mine was perfectly set up with low action right out of the box! The guitar sounds great either in acoustic mode or plugged in!

Best I have ever played

By Robert Loudermilk from Norman, AR on September 6, 2022 Music Background: Bluegrass/Hymns

I have spent years dreaming of having a guitar that sounds and plays this well. I always wanted an expensive ( for me) guitar but was trapped in the $500 range but Sweetwater made this guitar accessible with their great financing options. Thank you

Awesome, just awesome.

After checking out Takamine's owned by some of my fellow musicians I decided my next purchase would be a Takamine. I've always favored dreadnoughts and have owned a few, but for the price this guitar has them all beat hands down. The setup and intonation were spot on right out of the box and it sounded excellent at two rehearsals, one of which we recorded. My bandmates all love it as well and I can't wait to use for an acoustic set once we're able to start gigging again. Thanks as always to my sales rep, Tim Holsinger.

Excellent!!!

I received this guitar just yesterday, but have already fallen in love with it. My sales engineer, Mark Magdich, recommended this guitar to me, and it was an excellent recommendation. The craftsmanship is superb. The neck feels very comfortable in my hand, is silky smooth and the guitar practically plays itself. It has a very well-balanced tone played unplugged and plugged into my Roland AC-60 acoustic amp. The pickup system is one of the best I've heard and sounds amazing. This guitar is made to be played and is a true workhorse that can handle any playing style. If you are looking for a high-quality dreadnaught acoustic electric guitar that will provide you with lots of enjoyable playing, I highly recommend this one!
