What a beautiful guitar
Love the art work the sound is coming around I heard the mor you play the more the sound increases I got great service
Excellent Guitar
Besting acoustic ove owned and the quality is immaculate! 100/10 would recommend!
Surprisingly great sound
Bought this as a cheap travel guitar that I wouldn't worry about it getting banged around. I have a really nice Taylor K14ce that sounds great, but this one has turned into my favorite and surprisingly, it sounds better than my Taylor when plugged in. And the neck is more comfortable for my hands. Super happy with it!
Just perfect for me.
I was looking for a nice, full size acoustic/electric, and had read the reviews for the Epiphone Dove. They sang it's praises but I was skeptical. I stopped in and played the Dove in the showroom and WOW! Easy to play, sounded great and looked beautiful in the ebony burst. I came back the very next morning and bought it without hesitation. Very happy with my purchase and the service from Sweetwater.
My Epiphone Dove Studio Acoustic Electric Trans Ebony Guitar Purchase
I'm very pleased and satisfied with my purchase. The guitar is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. It fits my needs for studio work as well as live gigs in concert. My sales rep,Will was very knowledgable and helpful. He gave me expert advice and great customer service! All I can say is,I am a coverted Sweetwater customer and my musical purchases from now on will be made theough Sweetwater.
Very nice high quality instrument
I just bought this guitar & I've done 2 shows with it. I'm extremely pleased with it. When it came in, it had one small uncomfortable fret burr. Very easy to fix. The cosmetic finish was flawless & action was fine. I changed the strings as they were a bit "tinny" but that was no problem. My only complaint is the way you install the battery. It should have a 'clip' instead of a 'pouch.' It's a bit hard to get to even with the strings removed or loosened. I love the tapered performing artist neck. It fits my small hands perfect. I'm glad I made this purchase.
Beautiful guitar, sounds surprisingly good
I already had an Epiphone Hummingbird Pro, which honestly, was probably the worst sounding guitar out of my 9 acoustics. I saw this Dove used on Reverb, & it said "Inspired by Gibson" on the sound hole label. I had wanted a Dove, & figured this one must be better than the Hummingbird pro if it was an Inspired by Gibson model. That being said, this is not advertised as an Inspired by Gibson model, & I don't know why they have that on the sound hole label. The Inspired by Gibson models have solid wood back & sides, & this one clearly does not. I was still pleasantly surprised how much better it sounds than my Hummibgbird Pro. It has a more expensive "feel" to it, if you know what I mean. It also has a thick, beveled pickguard like what you'd find on a Gibson acoustic, & a modern pickup system with the controls in the sound hole. The sound & projection is pretty impressive, given the cost. It has a bright, yet balanced tone, & the single notes articulate particularly well. My Himmingbird Pro sounds muffled & muddy in comparison. While the Dove doesn't sound quite as good as my Martin, Taylor or my Inspired by Gibson Slash J-45, which has solid wood back & sides, it is pretty close. Great guitar for the money
Fantastic Service, Beautiful Product!
Already interested in the product after much research, I was drawn here for the exclusive trans ebony finish and it's even more gorgeous in person! It was just a personal preference as I liked the option. Otherwise, it sounds amazing and is fun to play. I was surprised at the higher level of service they provided than competitor I've used over the years. The amount of care that went into quality checking, packing, and shipping. I am really glad I found this company and would buy more from them in future.
Amazing gear & amazing store
Guitar looks even better in the flesh and plays better than I could ever imagine. These guys even shipped this guitar out to me to the UK. These guys couldn't do enough for you in regards to customer service!
Amazing instrument
Guitar arrived absolutely beautiful and even in tune. Action was perfect right out of the box. Very pleasantly surprised. This was my first purchase from Sweetwater and I can't wait for my next! Great guitar and customer service. If you're considering this guitar buy it now!
My Epi Dove from Sweetwater
I bought one a month ago and it's the best Epiphone I've ever played. Right out of the box, no setup needed. Sound is wonderful and playability is so close to Gibson you won't be able to tell the difference. It even has scalloped braces. Just a really fine guitar for the money.
Great Guitar...Bargain Price
I own a ton of guitars both acoustic and electric. When I saw this on sale as a demo I just bought it on impulse. It is by far the least expensive instrument in my stable. That said, it sounds and plays better than most of them with the exception of several high-end Martins. I agree with another reviewer who questioned how these could be sold for such a modest price. The one I purchased was a demo. It had a minor ding on the base side of the neck. The flaw was so small I decided to buy it. Upon receiving it I could barely see the imperfection.
It arrived in great shape and well-packed. The set up is perfect and was in tune out of the box. I had planned to use it as a "bag around" guitar to play on the porch or throw in the car (didn't come with a case) but it looks and sounds so good I'll have to case it before I venture out any distance. It looks so good I don't want to damage it.
I can't say enough good about the sales representative (Jeff Bohan) who has worked with me on many other purchases. I didn't even trouble him with this purchase because I thought it too inconsequential and inexpensive. The people at Sweetwater are second to none. The care they exercise in prepping instruments and ensuring their customers are happy is legendary. I never buy from other sources online anymore because I know I can trust Sweetwater.
If you are considering purchasing a Epiphone Dove Pro (demo or new) I suggest you pull the trigger. It is a quality instrument worth far more than the price.
I am in love!
I have always wanted an ebony dove guitar, and when this became available I jumped on it. I expected it to be nice, but I am literally BLOWN AWAY by the beauty and the quality! It is just crazy beautiful to look at, and the tone is deep, rich and satisfying. Honestly, I don't know how they can sell this quality at such a low price. I also don't know how a Gibson model could be any better.
As always, the customer service from Sweetwater was outstanding, and the guitar was set up PERFECTLY, right out of the box. If you are on the fence about buying one of these - DON'T HESITATE - buy one now! I waited months for this to come in, and who knows how long they will be available. You won't regret it!
Very Impressive!
I received this a little over a month ago, and have not been able to put it down. I am truly impressed with the look and performance of this guitar, and Thank You Sweetwater! for offering this exclusive model. It only required minor adjustment to be perfectly set up, and plays/sounds great. While looking it over, I did notice that the internal tag shows it as part of the Inspired by Gibson line, although it is listed as a Studio model, here. For the price point, this is absolutely the best purchase I could have made. Tone wise, this guitar performs much better than expected, and has exceptional tuning stability. I don't know which factory in Indonesia is making these, but they have done a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone that asked, as I play Country, Rock, & Blues with it, and it stands up and shouts as well as the Martin and Taylor my fellow players are using. Great Guitar and Great Value!!
Worth every penny! ...and the wait!
I ordered this in NOVEMBER 2020 and picked it up at Sweetwater after 7 months of waiting, but it was worth the wait. after have it PLEK'd and set up it IS a FINE Guitar. IT IS IN NO WAY PERFECT...but watdahey! it was NOT thousands and thousands of dollars either. Buy one, have it set up properly and I am sure it will give you TONS of enjoyment around the fire pit for years!
Cool guitar, but not a very impressive tone.
Fit and finish are pretty good but the tone of the guitar was lacking. Thick lacquer finish and thicker bracing and woods used are to blame. Decent guitar if you're going mostly for looks but there are much better sounding guitars for less than this. I resold mine almost immediately.
Looks pretty. Sounds ok.
It's just ok. Nothing great.
Not impressed
No sound ..sounds cheap. Do not recommend to anyone..
