The ECM-3 provides you with three meters (just under 10') of range for your favorite Zoom microphone. A hot shoe mount makes it easy to attach your capsule to the top of your camera or to a remote stand or tripod. You can even mount it on a boom pole, all without sacrificing the monitoring and remote adjustment functions regularly provided by your Zoom microphone or input capsule.

Extra flexibility for the H5
This was purchased along with a new H5. The removable mic capsule of the H5 was a major factor in its purchase. With this cable, the mic can be mounted on a mic stand or an overhead boom stand and controlled from a distance. The only drawback is the mic volume level is controlled at the capsule rather than the H5 body, so pre-event sound checks are important. The extension cable will allow unobtrusive mic placement for live performance recording as well as locating the mics out of sight during live on-line performances or meetings on Facebook or Zoom.
