Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue Electric Guitar - TV Yellow
Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue Electric Guitar - TV Yellow Reviews
Epiphone has once again partnered with Gibson Custom to offer players access to historic guitars, and the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue is as iconic as it gets. In 1958, Gibson modified the Les Paul Special, adding a second cutaway to improve playability and fret access. Sporting several premium appointments, including a Gibson open-book headstock, Gibson USA pickups, and historically accurate design cues, the Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue brings the original instrument's legendary look, sound, and playability. This reissued classic offers you the perfect combination of Gibson design and Epiphone quality, with its sleek, solidbody mahogany design, fast SlimTaper neck, and period-accurate capacitors. Whether you’re a touring professional or just getting started, the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue is your ticket to the tones that inspired generations.

What are we doing
Not bad made, wiring is not that great. Sounds decent. I will keep it. Don't know why. Let's face it people it's Chinese. I never thought I would pay over $ for a Chinese guitar. But that is the world we are in and at least Epiphone and Gibson gives you a hard case if you spend at least $ or more. The case is decent on the outside but the inside is not so. I almost bought a PRS for $ and they give you a gig bag. Pretty soon the only USA Gibsons you are going to buy are going to be "custom shop" and at least $. And Gibson is not the only company. They will outsource everything else. I have a firefly I got on a trade with a Mojo tone, single P90 and it is built just as good if not better for about a quarter of the price. Again, what are we doing? If you could do your own electronics that's all you need to do you don't need to buy expensive guitars. Just my opinion!!!!
Read MoreFor the fourth straight time a guitar from Sweetwater was ready to gig right out of the box. The guitar itself, a Inspired By Gibson Epiphone Double Cut Les Paul, had zero cosmetic issues. The action was dead on, no visible scratches, dents or dings. The wiring and soldering of all the GIBSON components was tidy, no solder drops and an extremely clean control cavity. Once I restrung the guitar with brand new strings it was ready for my gig. This is yet again, a fantastic build from a company that has WAY upped its game. This baby is a keeper!!!
Beautiful LP Jr.
Sweet Guitar, Love it

This is an easy 10 Star Catch Worth twice the price and when Hot Rodded it Lights them up...
I LOVE THIS GUITAR
This was in tune right out of the box. It is heavier than I thought at 8lbs 6oz, almost as heavy as my Gibson Les Paul Studio. The quality of the build really shows on these. I would put it up against a Gibson any day. This guitar will get played alot and probably get a few new scratches in the process. I didn't buy it to hang on the wall as art. I LOVE the sound of P90's. I used to have a Gibson Les Paul Special with P90's but I had to sell a few guitars a while back. I actually like this Epiphone better than the Gibson I used to have. If you're thinking about a Special with P'90's, this is the one. Great build quality with Gibson electronics. You just can't go wrong with this one.
Perfect Guitar
I have a Gibson Les Paul Special and love it so much that I had to get the Epiphone 1960 Double Cut Reissue. The Epiphone is an Inspired by Gibson Custom and I think its every bit as good as the actual Gibson. This Epiphone comes with American made P-90 pickups and arrived perfectly set up, with a nice hard-shell case. Shout out to Matt Brooks, my engineer, thanks for all your help!
Gibson by Epiphone
The decal on the head stock should say "Gibson by Epiphone. That's how nice this guitar is. It more than met my expectations. Everything was fine right out of the box. I was very pleased with the quality of the setup and the pristine condition of the guitar. The TV Yellow finish is very attractive especially because the wood grain shows through. Not a glossy finish but not "worn" either. The guitar is fairly light-weight, the neck radius is comfortable, and the fretwork hasn't any sharp edges. The P-90 pickups really put out, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of sustain. The brown leatherette case with a hot pink plush lining completes the vintage feel. Also, the price was reasonable at $. I'd actually expect it to cost a few hundred dollars more.
Best guitar out of the box I've ever received.
Right out of the box, in tune and setup so good. And let me tell you what.... these pickups make this guitar sing like no other. The guitar is very resonate, so you feel everything when you play it. This will be one of those guitars I'll take to the grave. Anyone wanting a Gibson 1960 reissue....save your money and just buy this, you will not regret it.
Epiphone 1960 LP Special DC Reissue
I just received my guitar today, and I have to say—Epiphone really delivered with this one. The quality is impressive, and I absolutely love it. To me, the headstock design closely resembles that of a Gibson, which really enhances the overall aesthetic. I haven't opened it up to inspect the electronics, and I don't plan to. I plugged it in, it sounds fantastic, and that's all I need to know.

Thank's Kenny the guitar sounds GREAT!!!!
A keeper.
Awesome guitar. This was the last one available so I didn't have a choice to pick from. Was a little concerned the fretboard looked really light. It was extremely dry but after conditioning and lowering the action it plays and sounds great.
