"The One"

By Ed Miller from Warwick, RI on July 28, 2023 Music Background: Pro Player semi-retired

Have searched for a long while to find my "retirement" guitar, then I came across this! It's "The One". This guitar meets all of the special features and elements I have wanted and needed to fulfill my dream of combining the best of my guitar collection in one package. Mahogany/Maple body,24 xjumbo stainless steel frets, short scale neck, split coil Humbuckers, Fishman Powerbridge Piezo, and locking tuners. It's perfect for small hands. The sounds I can produce from the combo of magnetic and piezo pickups are heavenly! Easy to hold standing or sitting. BIG shout out to Nick Huskins who went way out to make this vision a reality! Nick was able to evaluate my specs, match the product to me and made sure the purchasing process was stress free, accurate and safe. My order was delivered in 3 days and in perfect condition. Thanks to all on the Sweetwater Team!!!

Excellent value

By Patrick Davila from Easton, PA on April 1, 2022 Music Background: Intermediate

I recently purchased this guitar and it absolutely is comparable to a $2500 guitar. It plays great, sounds great and looks fantastic. The fit and finish is top notch. The Seymour Duncan humbuckers sound very good in all applications. The Fishmen piezo bridge gives acoustic like sound. Very useful for gigs where you don't want to bring an acoustic. The only negative is it doesn't come with a case.

Lovely Guitar

By Geddy Lee Israel from CO on February 10, 2019 Music Background: Amateur Guitarist

There's so much that I appreciate about this guitar. From the way it stays in tune almost perfectly, to the killer sustain flying out of the EMG pickups, to the variety of tones achievable, to the overall beautiful finish and neck inlays, I really do enjoy holding, playing, or even just staring at this guitar. A quality instrument at a great price point. No regrets.

Stunning Hard Core Metal Machine!

By Timmy Z on January 15, 2019

I waited 10 months to receive this guitar and suffice it to say it was absolutely worth it. I love everything about this guitar from the build quality to the feel and play ability to it"s stunning appearance. Certainly is not a guitar to bang out some Stevie Ray Vaughan but if you"re into metal or hard rock… Wow! Sweetwater is always a great place to deal with

By Shane Buell from Tacoma,Wa on November 19, 2018 Music Background: 5 years hobby, church

First off this is the nicest guitar Iv owned,i was originally in the market for a strat, but seen this and glad I did,the finish is beautiful. The fishman pickups are very clear and crisp sound for the clean kinda has a acoustic sound to it,and the distortion will blow you away it"s like getting a round house kick to the face from chuck Norris,I mainly play Power, thrash metal and this does Job,works great for worship music at church to.overall very happy and pleased about my purchase.

Excellent Quality From ESP

By David from TN on October 26, 2017 Music Background: Amateur

I have a Japanese ESP M-II Maple that is very nice, ESP's LTD line is no exception!

LTD EC-1000QM Piezo:
- The finish is super nice, it looks like a high-quality guitar.
- It's thinner and lighter than a Les Paul
- The tuners feel very responsive
- The fret board is very nice, I love the XJ frets, no buzzes other than those I cause when I'm messy.
- The tone knob actually seems to have a range
- The piezo pickup is awesome for clean sounds

The all-around quality of this guitar is excellent, but I'm mostly impressed with how versatile the piezo pickup makes this guitar; with the piezo pickup (it's in the bridge!), you get what amounts to an amplified acoustic sound, consider that if you want to play some Nordic jams where you need to switch between clean guitar and heavy distortion, turn off the distortion pedal and throw the blend switch down to the piezo!

Impressed

By Jim S. from Hilliard Ohio on June 5, 2018 Music Background: Countless bands over 40 years

I tend to be a bit of a snob when it comes to point of manufacture. As a result, I was a bit hesitant about an instrument made in South Korea. However I was also really curious about the mix of magnetic and piezo pickups.

Most instruments with that configuration are significantly more expensive (for example, some of the John Petrucci Ernie Ball models or the Alex Lifeson Les Paul).

I have played this guitar for about 15 hours over the past week or so and really like it. Despite a fairly critical eye, I don't notice any negatives with the fit or finish to the instrument. The neck is thin - not unexpected given ESP's orientation toward the hard rock/metal community. However, it doesn't present any issues for me.

The piezo provides a pseudo-acoustic tone. No one will mistake it for an acoustic guitar. However, I envision switching in and out of it during a song that might have a brief acoustic section. It does provide for a nice blend with the magnetic pickups. The piezo provides an extra dimension/depth that is fun to play with.

The bridge pickup is extra hot and can howl. It made me want to dip back into my heavy metal youth.

One other note - guitar is light. I would equate it to the weight of a Strat - maybe less.

You won't get an overly clean sound but that's not the demographic ESP is aiming for.

I own about 50 guitars (and a banjo!). I mention this only to provide some context to my review. This guitar exceeded my expectations.

Thanks as always to Kenny Bergle for his on-going assistance and advice.
