Best sounding octave effect I've owned. Tone control is useful too
Best octaver for bass
I've tried nearly every bass octave pedal on the current market and this one is the best I have found. The articulation and tracking on it is quicker and way less mushy than others. It cuts through clean and has the perfect controls I want on an octave pedal for bass. Occasionally it can get wobbly on longer notes which is why I do not give it a perfect 5 star but I don't think any octave pedal has perfected this issue yet because every one I have tried suffers from this. It's better than any other octave pedal for bass though, in my opinion. I'm thinking the other reviewer had a faulty pedal because I do not have the problem of it missing tracking on certain notes as they mention. As someone who has been on the hunt for the best octave pedal for years, this is the one I would recommend.
Work in progress
So I've only started working with the pedal to figure it out. It definitely wants to be first in the chain. I heard after a compressor it can be helpful but it was better to put it before my Darkglass Super Symmetry. At first glance it really doesn't like a lot of gain. I had to dial back my Tech21 V2 DI to get it to calm down. It's definitely player responsive. If I play closer to the neck on my Spector Euro 4 and have the split EMG'S on the neck on it tames it. You can find yourself able to coax the tracking with finger technique. So if you have an active bass, EMG's, a preamp or DI your going to have to work at finding a balance. This was done through a Fender Rumble 500 and I haven't heard it yet ampless with IEM'S. Stay tuned
Wouldn't get this one honestly
I am a big fan of the EBS Blueline pedal series, but I'd seriously pass on this one. The sound, when it actually tracks is really nice, and I'm sure you get why I gave it so a low rating now. The tracking on this pedal is very poor, despite that being a big selling point of it, it just doesn't work well at all. I'm not exaggerating, there are about 10 to 12 notes that this pedal will reliably track, and it's a shame. I love the simple layout, but I'd say this ones a dud, sorry EBS.
