EBS MultiComp Blue Label Bass Compressor Pedal Reviews

Multiband Compressor Pedal for Bass, with 3 Compression Modes

A multiband compressor pedal that's easy to dial in! The EBS MultiComp Blue Label pedal delivers studio-quality multiband compression for your bass pedalboard, and it's simple enough that you can make it sound great even in the middle of a gig. Adjust the Sensitivity control until the MultiComp Blue Label starts grabbing your signal (indicated by the LED), then adjust the Comp control for just the right amount of girth and dynamic control. Use the Gain control to make up the lost volume due to the compression, or bump it up further to add some harmonic grit to your tone. Complete with three selectable compression modes with distinct sonic characteristics and an internal trim pot to fine-tune how it responds to your playing style, the EBS MultiComp Blue Label multiband compressor pedal is highly recommended by Sweetwater to any tone-savvy bass player.

Been using the original one for quite a few years, may upgrade

The original MultiComp was great, and I'm sure this one is even better, I have nothing but great things to say about this line of pedals and look forward to buying this one soon.

Are bass compressors necessary?

By Carlos Cabrales from Westchester on October 14, 2022 Music Background: Rock, Heavy Rock, Jazz

Ummmm - yeah
There really is no option. Especially if you play a 5 or more string bass guitar. No matter how good your amp set up is, compression just makes you sound cleaner, better and more articulate. Depending on the song and circumstance, I play with a lot of dynamics: plucking, slapping, picking and even using drumsticks like Tony Levin. This EBS pedal not only does the basic job of compression but also has cool "modes" - normal, MB and tubism. I use Normal for everyday use, MB (dual compression) for slapping and Tubeism for melody.
Is it necessary to buy a $ pedal, no - I guess you can always go with cheaper options, but EBS makes an exceptional product with this compression pedal. I find it invaluable for home recoding, gigs and even studio sessions.

There’s No Reason to Ever Turn It Off!

The MultiComp is a fantastic "always on" type of pedal. The effect is pretty subtle but it's a great little tone enhancer. (The tube simulator setting is excellent too!) For those interested, I've done a pedalboard walkthrough featuring this unit. It showcases the sound range of the MultiComp and how it stacks with other pedals. My live bass sound has never been better!
All the dials at 12 O'clock and the switch on Tubism.
I will never play without it!
