I was excited to try these out and I do not regret the purchase, but I didn't end up enjoying these much. Because my OCD makes me buy everything in bulk, I bought a 3-pack. Added them to my Tele, a Les Paul and a Jazzmaster. On the Tele, after 2 weeks after stringing them up, the E string spontaneously combusted. On the Les Paul they actually feel alright and sound decent. The sound isn't much like a flatwound at all (not even a bright-sounding flat), they sound like a tamer round-wound. The feel isn't as smooth as a flat either (or even a half-round). On the Jazzmaster I much prefer D'addario Chromes.
If you're looking for a duller round sound with a softer feel, maybe this would be up your alley. But this one doesn't do anything half-rounds do better and for cheaper. YMMV, of course. Happy playing!
