Ernie Ball 2224 Turbo Slinky Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings - .0095-.046 Reviews

.0095-.046 Electric Guitar Strings, Turbo Slinky

Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

BEST STRINGS EVER FOR STANDARD OR E FLAT!

By The Session Room on August 25, 2023 Music Background: Guitar Player

Gibson or Fender this gauge feels perfect!! 9's too light? 10's to heavy? TRY THESE!!! You will never look back! I really hope in the future they make these in Cobalt and Paradigm versions, and come in larger then 3 packs!

Perfect tention

By Tim from Rochester New York on July 26, 2023 Music Background: Played in many death metal bands but love classic rock as well

I've tried every brand and almost every ernieball string. For classic rock in E standard tuning these are perfect. I've always preferred the 10-46 for standard tuning but wished the higher strings had more play for solos and bends. Once I found these I never went back. Perfect amount of tention

Awesome on my Strat

By JKC from New York on August 14, 2021 Music Background: Songwriter, guitarist

Was using 10s on both my SG and Strat. The longer scale length on the Strat made them feel like 11s. Harder to bend full steps in some positions. Switched to the Turbo Slinky and now my Strat feels like my SG that has 10s on it. Ernie Ball makes a LOT of these really cool hybrid gauges. Have been using Ernie Balls for over 30 years and will keep doing so.

Great strings!

By Ryan from Ames, IA on June 13, 2021

Just the right size for me right now! I'd been playing .10's Regular Sliky for more than 20 year but as I get old and my hands hurt a little more than they used to - I needed to move to something lighter. But for me, the Hybrid Slinky set was too light - I couldn't control the top 2-3 strings very well and I'd I still knock them out of tune. This Turbo Slinky set is just right for where I'm at right now - - you still get some of the beefier feel of the bottom strings and the top strings are light but just heavy enough for chording and lead work like double/triple-stops; and yet are easier to bend! A great fit - check 'em out!

Great Strings

These are perfect in between 9's and 10's, really excellent feel and sound.

Just amazing

I started putting these on my Thinline a year ago, after trying 9's which I hated, and 10s with I despised. No other strings will ever go on the Tele, it just soooo perfect. They've also lasted a remarkably long time without sounding like junk. The set is balanced just like they advertise, so it's not simply a matter of gauge, barre chords don't demand as much contortion to get uniform contact, so it's pretty effortless. Special enough to a have our setup guy dial the guitar in for this specific string set. Buy them by the sack.

Jack Of All Trades

To put it short..I like hybrid strings (9-46) but the problem is..they feel unbalanced to me. The plain strings have TOO much give unless you raise the action. On the other than, going to 10-46 while totally fine, ya lose a little bit of that snap to your sound as well as ease of bending. This set takes both of those issues and solves them. Whether you play in E standard, 1/2 step down, Drop D, Drop C#, etc, these can handle it. Turbo Slinky strings are absolutely killer. Feel fantastic, sound great. I'm mainly a D'addario player but they don't have this particular gauge available soooo...Hello EB!

This is it
