Ernie Ball 2215 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinky Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings - .010-.052 Reviews
Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. When you open a pack of his strings today, you know you're getting a quality set of strings designed to give you great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!

great for drop c
My primary tuning is drop c on a 6 string and out of all the strings ive tried these have worked by far the best. They stay in tune well, feel great, and arent too muddy which is a common problem with heavier strings.
great for heavier riffs !
I love these strings these are my second go to strings
I love playing some 80s classic rock songs with these but they also sound great tuned a full step down !
Amazing Strings
I love these strings! They have a strong, melodic sound that is warm and inviting. Easy to play and feels very good to play on. As a beginner, it makes it easier to play and want to continue playing.

These strings sound balanced and vibrant, and provide the perfect tension for my 24 inch neck.
Perfect for Drop D
I use these on an Epiphone Les Paul in Drop D. The tension is perfect and they sound amazing. Ive been using these strings for 15 years now and have tried a multitude of different brands/gauges. Nothing compares.
Great strings!
Great for drop tuning!
The standard for guitar strings
Unless you have an issue bending the thicker strings, you can't go wrong with these strings. On standard scale (24.75" to 25.5") guitars, these are good for tunings down to Drop C/Open C without your low strings getting so floppy they go wildly sharp when played, and while providing a comfortable bendability on the higher strings. Tonally, they sound like guitar strings. They're not absurdly punchy and bright like Ernie Ball Cobalts and they're not weirdly smooth like coated strings. They sound like every other string. Tuning stability and string durability is also solid when your guitar is properly set up, as with every other brand/make of string.
The Go To Guitar Strings
There's a reason Ernie Ball has been the string giant for so many years. They're just plain good and reliable. I haven't had complaints with any of my sets and I will continue to use them for years to come. I like to use these for Drop C tuning.

Very nice strings.
Excellent strings!
These are the best string I've put on my guitar! They stay in tune better and have a punchier tone than the regular, but easier to bend than the Power Slinkies. I tune my guitar to E flat standard, E standard, and Open A for slide playing and these string can take the strain.

I like them. Stay in tune better and I feel like open chords like A, D, F and so on so forth are more articulate. I think the thicker gauge gives them more mid and you can strum harder without bumping them out of tune. Will buy these again. These are standard on all my electrics, id imagine these are nice for drop tunings but im in E standard. Love em.
Excellent Strings
I've been using these strings almost exclusively for close to a decade. In that time, I think I've broken less than 3 strings. And I only change my strings when they get dull (usually 2-3 times per year). These strings hold up very, very well. They also have much better bass response than the 9-42 set. With the right settings, it's possible to believably emulate an acoustic sound from an electric guitar plugged into a clean amp without any assistance from pedals or modeling tech.
The overall tone is definitely bass heavy, but not unbalanced. The mids are still there, and the highs are present and smooth.
These strings provide a wonderful overdrive/distortion sound when paired with medium-gain to high-gain pickups. They probably do fine with vintage-style pickups as well, but I can only comment from experience.
At present, I plan to stick with these strings for as long as I'm able to hold a guitar.
Excellent tone, lower action with no fret buzz
I play a Gretsch Electromatic center block, and have been trying to find the right strings that have both sparkle and longevity. After trying several brands, and generally liking 10s, I kept returning to elixirs. My problem was that even with the action a bit higher than where I wanted it, I was getting some fret buzz on the 5th and 6th strings. So I gave these a try and love them. A bit more sparkle in the unwound strings than the elixirs, and the heavier gauge on the E and A sound fantastic with a deep, rich tone. And because it takes a bit more tension to tune the low strings up to pitch, I'm able to lower the action to where I want it without any fret buzz. I've been using them for a week with no loss of tone or tuning stability, but it remains to be seen whether they'll last as long as the elixirs. But even if they don't, they're less than half the price and the improved playability for my setup is well worth more frequent string changes.
Deep rich tone
Wow! These Ernie Ball strings blow those Dunlop KFK strings out of the room! And it's funny, because my V is a Kerry King signature. But with the Dunlop strings they seem to get tired after a while. My active pickups react more to these Ernie Ball strings, and I like the difference.
These are really great
These are perfect. Buy in bulk to save money. Balls may not last as long as elixir but they sound better, which is why everyone worth mentioning uses them (see back of packaging). Basically you can change these once a week and still pay less than you would be paying if you used elixir strings or another high dollar coated string.
Great for any Genre
I love these strings. I hear a lot of people saying these are mainly for metal but i disagree. The heavy gauge in the low E, A , D strings help for lower tuning but also helps get your action really low. Because of the thicker gauge, the thicker strings need more tension to get the same pitch as a smaller gauge. Which means the strings are a bit tighter and therefore, can be set for lower action. I wont ever change gauges again. I've tried a bunch and these are my favorite(non metal player).
Rock and Roll
cannot have a better rock sound with these strings. period
