Ernie Ball 2006 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings - .010-.050 Extra Light Reviews
Ernie Ball strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early 1960s, when guitarists came into Ernie Ball's music store, customizing their string gauges to make their axes easier to play. After fruitless attempts to interest major guitar manufacturers in a lighter set of strings, Ernie Ball decided to start making his own. From shredders to acoustic virtuosos, Sweetwater guitarists love Ernie Ball strings for their great tone, reliable performance, and long life. You can't go wrong when you string up with Ernie Ball strings!
Best sounding strings I've ever used
Fifty three years in playing, I've tried them all, but these Earthwood's sound the very best on my Seagull Heart of Wild Cherry jumbo cutaway acoustic. Brilliant tones from top to bottom and they really last. I've used them for many years now and very glad I found them. I found it interesting just lately that this is what Jimmy Page uses also. Good choice! I don't think anyone would be disappointed trying them as the price is right too.
Amazing! Highly recommended!
I've used Super Slinkys on my electrics for years, upgrading to the Cobalts a couple of years ago that I have been very happy with. It never occurred to me that Ernie Ball made acoustic strings. Where there, and on the Taylor site, where it is "recommended" to use D'Addario on their guitars.
Talk about an ego. My next acoustic will be a Martin.
At any rate, these strings really blew me away. They sound absolutely amazing for easily half the price of a set of D'Addario. And frankly, how long they last doesn't really matter to me--I will play them until they break anyway, but if they are anything like the other Ernie Ball strings I use, that will be awhile. And even so--they are certainly more affordable to change more regularly.
Well worth my time & money. I will be using these strings on--all--my acoustic guitars from now on.
Highly recommended!

My fingers have had a hard time playing my acoustic for extended periods, but since I put these on I have been playing everyday without any discomfort. And the tone is beautiful.
G string broke while stringing guitar
G string broke in the middle of the neck while tuning up after stringing. I'll avoid this brand from now on and spend a little more on better quality.
First time
These were the first set of Ernie Ball strings I've ever used and I love them, pair that with Sweetwater's ability to go beyond expectations and I'm reminded why they're the first place I look.
outstanding service!
Super fast shipping, thank you very much!
For the first time use
Sound: big, bright and warm with strumming and pickingstyle. Definitely recommended.
My new favorite strings
For the past year I tried different kinds of strings every time I changed strings. I thought my favorite was the phosphor bronze version of these, now that I've tried these I don't plan on changing anymore. I have a small body guitar (Orangewood Oliver M), that is more on the bright side, but these give it a fuller sound. And the price is great.
BEST 80/20 STRINGS I HAVE EVER USED
And it is not even close. Phosopher bronze didn't come in until 1974. These are the strings used by Hank Williams, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, you name it. Used on every record made from the last 40s until the mid 70s. Good enough for them good enough for me.
Sounds Great, Last Long and Easy on Your Fingers
They sound great and are easier to play than phosphorus bronze lights. They last along time if you're careful to wash your hands before playing and wipe your strings with a clean cloth after each use. When I switched from lights (12-53) to these (10-50) I didn't have to adjust the russ rod on my Taylor Academy 12e and there was no fret buzz. They're made in Southern California where the humidity is low. They are then packaged to resist humidity to keep them as fresh as when they were made.
