A very nice intermediate guitar

By William from St Louis Mo on December 3, 2021 Music Background: Singer/Songwriter (independent artist)

As a singer songwriter I want to get a lot of thick sound out of my guitar when I play. That is exactly what I get with the Washburn Festival EA20 mini-Jumbo. The guitar was shipped to me ready to play, and that is what I did, after the 24 hour waiting period. I would recommend this guitar for anyone interesting in upgrading from the $200 range but can't afford the $1000 range.

Demo Model A20

By Christine Giguere from North Anson, ME on February 17, 2020 Music Background: Campfire picker

Also a big shout out for great customer service to...David Winkert! You were right about this little guitar...it sure is sweet for the demo... glad I took the gamble. Already playing it... real sweet action on it... quality sound at a great price, like it better than my Takamine already... Sweetwater rocks!

Washburn A20 Demo

By Christine Giguere from North Anson, ME on February 17, 2020 Music Background: Campfire picker...

I purchased this guitar which offered a Demo model reduced price a few dings or scratches were pointed out before my purchase. I took the gamble and purchased it knowing it was slightly less than perfect. I received this guitar today and I'm telling you I could not be more happy with my choice. I play a lot around campfires in Summer up here in the hills of Maine and I'm sure there is not a sweeter sounding guitar hanging around the camps coming up this season. My son also owns a sweet Washburn thin line for many years now but his was top dollar back in the day, camp out of a band member that did a stand in for a back up member for Jimmy Buffet down in the keys...when I purchased it for him 20 years ago and still the sweetest sounding guitar around. Festival Series' rock! Thank you Sweetwater Sound!

Hello Old Friend...

By Mike Schmieder from Lake Stevens, WA on October 9, 2019 Music Background: Contemporary and Classic Praise & Worship volunteer band.

It has been a while since I played (my first language is drums) so getting my fingers reacquainted with strings has been a joy. The EA20 neck is superb and fits my hand extremely well and the action is low and very comfortable. After breaking it in for a couple of months and getting my fingers back in condition I have dialed in the sound I like and am able to get warm, easy finger picking tones, full-bodied strumming, and nice blunt chunking when palming the bridge. By design the instrument leans on the brighter side, so if you are looking for sparkle it is most definitely here. The dynamic range really is quite broad, especially when played through an amp. It pairs up nicely with a multi-effects pedal for luscious finger style and can even handle some overdrive when you want a little attitude. This guitar represents amazing value, is extremely versatile and has stunning good looks! Josh Dillon was enormously helpful and highly attentive to the sales process. My unit was a Demo model and was virtually flawless.
My first purchase through Sweetwater, but most definitely not my last!

Worth Every Penny

By Michael from Georgia on February 3, 2019

I"ll start by saying that I"m not a pure guitarist. I"m a drummer that enjoys playing guitar. Started playing it right out of the box with no adjustments needed. The action is excellent (better than expected), the sound is rich, and the electronics are quiet. Even after a bit of vigorous strumming (did I mention that I"m really a drummer), this guitar stayed in tune. Sounds great, plays great, looks great. What more could you want? A case. The Washburn Florentine case. Fits like a glove. Buy it, play it, enjoy it.

Exceptional Value

By Motorhead from California Bay Area on October 2, 2016

I was looking for an inexpensive guitar I could take anywhere without having to baby it. The Washburn EA20 fit the bill perfectly. Phenomenal sound projection, built in tuner, and ability to plug straight into a board. As always Scott at Sweetwater's customer service was impressive. Highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a good all around axe.

Another ringing endorsement

By Jeff from Colorado on December 22, 2014 Music Background: Musician of 35+ years

Like the other reviewers, I found this guitar to be far better than expected out of the box. And comparatively, a lot nicer - nicer to play, listen to and look at than so many guitars twice the price. What I'm really loving, is each time I pull it out of the case (the Washburn case also nicer than expected), It feels like I'm picking this really expensive and super-sweet guitar, and pleased that it's mine! It's a cool ground hog-day moment to keep having. So nice to play, hard to put down. Washburn, I'm a fan and will be back for more.

I'm brand new to buying gear (other than metal boxes) online, and was very skeptical, but so intrigued with the reviews I'd read for so long. Finally gave it a go, and Jason Koons and everyone at Sweetwater have over-delivered. Thanks guys.

Excellent Guitar for the Money

By Garey from Mount Joy, Pa USA on June 1, 2014 Music Background: Retired Pro Musician

This is a very nice, sub $300 guitar! Like the other reviewer, I own many higher dollar guitars and needed an quick replacement for an ailing 15 year old Washburn acoustic/electric and was super impressed by this piece. It's a very playable guitar right out of the box and it looks absolutely killer. Great dimensional flame on the back, sides and headstock, nice binding detail and nice electronics to boot. Played it out 2 days after I received it and got many compliments. Very satisfied with the pricepoint and quality and Sweetwater is the best customer oriented company I've ever dealt with!

Awesome guitar - awesome experience!

By James Cipolla from Little Falls, NJ on May 11, 2014 Music Background: 45 year player.

Wanted an inexpensive acoustic to play around the house. This arrived better than expected. Very high end quality. I couldn't even find a blemish! The sound is deep and action low, and it looks incredible. Was ready to play right out of the box. Sweetwater did a great job with the setup, packing & shipping.Rreceived it in only 2 days! And Jim Cooper is amazing! I own much higher end guitars, but for the price point, sound & quality of this Washburn, it could easily rival them. I have always been a GC diehard. I have a store only 1/2 mile from my home, but Sweetwater has made a lifetime customer out of me. Great service, product, and Jim Cooper goes above & beyond!

Impressive Guitar

By John from Selma AL on October 14, 2017 Music Background: 50 yr+ player

I was truly impressed with this guitar both in its sound quality and appearance. It has low action which makes it very playable with nice tone and projection. I highly recommend it.

Stay away

By Roger from New York City on June 19, 2020 Music Background: 30 year pro musician

Let me start off by saying I have high end guitars and some inexpensive guitars. I'm far from a guitar or label snob. This guitar is absolutely terrible. Out of the box the action was high, frets so sharp you can easy cut yourself, and the tuners are low grade crap. I didn't expect perfection or even close to perfection at this price point, but this is barely playable. I have other Washburn guitars that are amazing so I guess I had high expectations. Save your money. Stay. Away....unless you need extra maple firewood for a bbq.
