The plastic insert s are not well fitting, very loose. I had one come apart on me.

So I bought the Neutiks.. cheap red plastic tab and they didn't even lock the cable in.

So I epoxy filled the Switchcrafts , now they're tight and lock / unlock the cables correctly.

The Jack works well, and the release is easy to press, but the plastic fits pretty loosely in the metal frame which gives it a sloppy feel.

The plastic part inside the metal housing is loose, rattles around and falls out completely if you twist it a little bit to the side which is easy to do. I also found that the locking mechanism works with some cables and not others. If it doesn't work, the jack is super loose and the cable pulls out extremely easily. After reading some reviews on other sites I concluded that these issues are common problems with this product, not just a fluke, so I ordered a comparable Neutrik jack to replace it. I'm very disappointed in Switchcraft on this one. While I realize that this may not be the application others are using this jack for, I ordered it to make a secure connection in the back of a custom speaker cabinet that I'm building. Just the thought of this thing rattling around or potentially pulling straight out of the back of my cabinet made me feel ill. Seeing as how reviews across the net are very divided between good and horrible, I can only guess that this must be a case of very poor quality control on the part of Switchcraft.

Does exactly what it needs to do. Robust, solid, dependable.

I bought 2 of these to add to the side of my new pedal board as the guitar input and the output the to amp. They were easy to solder the patch cable to them. The product works exactly as it's suppose to and the locking feature works well in preventing the cables from coming out accidentally.
