Fender Player Duo-Sonic HS - Crimson Red Transparent Reviews
The Fender Player Duo-Sonic HS's unique voice is due to its 24" scale length. It possesses a vibrant sound and makes for a very playable instrument. It has a slinky feel, extended chords are easier to finger, and you can pull off multi-step bends easily. A combination of single-coil and humbucking pickups delivers sweet, glassy Fender tone, with sound-shaping provided by a 3-way selector, Master Volume and Tone controls, and a push-pull tone pot that switches the humbucker to single-coil operation. Beginners and experts alike agree that there's a lot to love about the Fender Player Duo-Sonic HS.

One of the most underrated Fenders
I absolutely love my HS Duo-Sonic. Although it is the older brother to the Mustang, no one ever talks about these guitars. It is so versatile as you can coil split the bridge humbucker to get that Fender quack and play the full humbucker for those grunge tones. The neck pickup has more of a strat sound. The short scale allows for monster bends. My only complaint is the switch feels really cheap.
Great short scale/ compact guitar
I have been suffering from stiff hands that have made it hard to play my 25.5" scale guitars. I went looking for a short scale alternative with a Fender neck and found the Duo-Sonic. This really feels like a shrunk-down Strat, it is extremely comfortable to play. Most importantly, it really sounds great. With the single coil Neck pickup I get the familiar Fender clean tones, and with the bridge humbucker you can dial up the gain and sound quite similar to the Bridge of an HSS Strat. If you need a short scale Fender this is a great option.
Probably the most underrated Fender Guitar
This is a short scale and not for everyone. I have a Gibson Les Paul, Squier Classic Vibe 50's Tele, a Jazzmaster and Strat and this is my favorite guitar by far. The versatility is amazing with the coil splitting humbuckers. Single coil bridge pickup definitely has that Fender spank. I cannot say enough good about this guitar. The only negative is the selector switch is really cheap feeling.
