Catalinbread Dreamcoat Preamp Pedal
Catalinbread Dreamcoat Preamp Pedal Reviews
In response to thousands of customer emails over the years requesting a pedal brimming with '60s and '70s classic rock tone, the designers at Catalinbread went to work. After intensive study and consultation, the Dreamcoat Preamp Pedal has arrived! The Dreamcoat lets you tap into the tone of the Aiwa TP-1011 reel-to-reel deck. It features an active, adjustable frequency boost coupled with a vintage-correct Aiwa circuit and a clean blend, translating to an array of tones that range from singing and clear to howling and crunchy. Plus, a saturation control for the Aiwa pre takes your tone from crystal-clear highs to doomy sludge and all points in between. Guitarists here at Sweetwater are incredibly impressed with the true-to-the-era tones the Dreamcoat delivers, as well as the plethora of overall classic rock tones and textures this pedal provides!
Great Tone, lots of Tweaks
Wow, I got the CB Dream Coat on sale, but it's absolutely worth the full regular price. The CB DC is definitely not just another 'green pedal' clone as it is it's own animal. This pedal goes from subtle adjustments to full on meyham, there is a lot of versitilty here and I can't stress that enough. Catlinbread has never let me down and in fact this pedal raises the bar and I look forward to their upcomming ideas. I'm playing it though the neck single coil on my Strat and haven't tried the bridge humbucker yet but I have a feeling it's going to kill it. I haven't mixed it in with other 'on' pedals on the board yet either as it plays fine standalone, Also this pedal is whisper quiet as I couldn't detect any hiss or noise.
Nice mate for the skewer
When paired with skewer great tones emerge. I also used this through a Fender VI and got outstanding sounds from this six string bass with tremolo.
Amazing pedal, Catalinbread is killing it
This baby rocks. IT is definitely a great drive for awesome tones. The Frequency function is awesome, lets you dial in some real cool eq sounds, and does what many use EQ pedals for.
Has an awesome tone for classic rock. Add cool squishy and fuzzy sounds. A great way to take your rig's sounds back to the late 60s/early 70s. I'm not even really into Deep Purp, but I love this pedal.
