TC Electronic Ditto+ Looper Pedal Reviews

60-minute, Multi-session Looper Pedal with 24-bit Sound Quality, 99-loop Storage Capacity, Unlimited Overdubs, 1-knob Control, and Hi-resolution Display

The TC Electronic Ditto+ is a next-gen 60-minute looper with loads of player-friendly features. Enjoy total creative freedom with unlimited overdubs, while dynamic loop length enables you to layer long overdubs onto shorter loops. Experience easy import and export of your loops via USB. Benefit from detailed real-time information about your loops, thanks to a high-resolution color display. The Ditto+ also retains your loops in its internal memory after you power the stompbox down. Feeling nostalgic for the simplicity of your old-school looper? No problem. The Ditto+’s 1-knob control and easy-to-navigate layout supplies a familiar feel that lets you concentrate on your playing, not your pedalboard. The Ditto+ employs uncompressed 24-bit audio for maximum sound quality, while its analog-dry-through design maintains the integrity of your dry signal — even while the effect is on. If you appreciated TC’s original Ditto looper, you’ll flip over the Ditto+.

The Best At What It Does

By Don P from Pensacola, FL on January 30, 2024 Music Background: Musician, Songwriter, Home Producer, Guitarist

IMHO, simply The Best 'Simple' Looper with upgraded capabilities to the previous "Original" Ditto. A Classic!

Love it.

By Nicolas Alvarado from Bradenton, FL on November 30, 2023

Having this looper pedal makes playing more fun and increases the playing time. Kids always ask to borrow it!

Just... Wow.......!

By Sweetwater Customer from OR on October 3, 2023

I'm blown away. Having such a great relationship with my Taylor T5z Custom, Fishman Loudbox Mini, '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb & my new TC Electronic Ditto+ Looper Pedal.

Great tool for practice and gigs

By Nathan Davenport from Rochester, NY on September 19, 2023 Music Background: Guitar Teacher, Gigging Musician.

I use the Ditto+ for practicing Improvisation and its an incredible tool. I also gig as a soloist and will sometimes use the Ditto in a live situation as well. I can't recommend it enough. It is a great tool!

Best Music Store

By Iggy Resillez from Palm Coast, FL on May 18, 2023 Music Background: Drummer and now guitar player

I recently had a great experience buying a new guitar and gear from Sweetwater. Best prices, best and most knowledgeable staff, best services anywhere. Shipping is efficient, free in my case, and a breeze. No need to go anywhere else. Thank you Sweetwater!

Great Looper Pedal

By Albert Blackson from Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 2022 Music Background: Drummer, Saxophone, Trumpet

Using the Ditto+ for looping my drums so I can play sax and trumpet with the band and then go back to playing live drums. The Ditto+ works great once you learn when to start, end, and stop a loop. It does take a little practice to get it right.

Nice Addition to My Rig

By Len from ADAIRSVILLE, GA on October 6, 2022

Got the demo of thus pedal. Not sure the anyone actually used it. The pedal still had the protective plastic over the display and there wasn't a visible scratch on it anywhere. As for functionality, I am still learning how to use it, but the sound is great. It's a good tool for practicing.

A Ten Star Pedal!!!

By Dennis from San Diego CA on July 6, 2022 Music Background: Actually heard someone play WonderWall on a ukulele on the beach not that long ago, was rage inducing

An awesome pedal, and no learning curve at all, very simple operation, plug in and step on the button to record, step again to replay, step twice to overdub, and hold down to erase. There is a volume knob and two small channel buttons in case you want to save up to 99 tracks and an hour of recording. This is a rhythm section, recording tool, learning tool, and is so much fun. Can immediately listen back to see just how good you sound on any song, solo, or lick you're working on. If you don't have a looper pedal I would highly recommend a Ditto+, you won't regret it. It's my favorite pedal now. And I have to say thanks to Tiberius Huiu, always there with all the answers!!!

Ditto+Looper

By Frank from Lodi, California on June 20, 2022

I Love it! This is finally the one! I've bought 2pedals in the past, they were to complicated, this one is simple to use, and has many features. Only 1 stomp button, for all.

Just what I was looking for

By Andrea S. from Newbury, Ohio on April 10, 2022

I highly recommend this pedal. I am still a novice in many ways, and wasn't sure what to buy, after all, there are about 100 looper options out there, ha ha!

This one is solid and works awesome. I didn't realize (again, novice) that I needed to order a power supply, so I had to wait an extra day or two to try my new toy out.

I would definitely recommend this product.

Get started in seconds!

Easy to use, sounds great, tons of capacity. Looping is such a creative and fun way to express yourself musically and the Ditto+ makes it easy to do.

Jake Hersha is the man

By Alex from ATL on March 22, 2022 Music Background: Beginner-intermediate guitar player, experienced clog dancer

Didn't have a place to leave Jake a review and that's a **** shame. He's an excellent sales engineer and a super chill dude. Recommended this looper and I LOVE it. The computer software was easy to use and the looper itself is idiot proof. All my tones are perfectly captured and repeated back to me so I can jam accordingly. Seriously though, Jake is the man.

Gig Toy

By Mike from Central New York on February 3, 2022 Music Background: Guitar Player

This is my secret weapon for local gigs. Having 99 loops is a real game changer.

Ditto+

By Paul from FL on January 29, 2022

Jeff Bohan was most helpful and knowledgeable about looper units and help me decide on the Ditto+. Familiar with the original ditto looper I had questions, even after watching several YouTube demos, open box, and review videos..My purchase was definitely the right choice and the unit does everything I need it to do...it will be my steeping stone to a more hearty, versatile model down the road. Thank you Jeff and Sweetwater for being there for all of us working musicians.

super happy

By Michael Ganzagan from LIHUE, HI on January 15, 2022

This little thing does exactly what it should with ease. Shipping was fast, (as usual) and the communication was on point. My sales rep, Jon Mastacato was on it as always. Mahalo

Simple and effective

By William from Eastern Shore on January 9, 2022 Music Background: Semi-pro

Just what i was looking for. Got this for black friday deal!! Half off! Does just what i want. Simple. Sounds great. Auto save on all my loops. Small foot print. Well made and well thought out. This looper is a no brainer.

Superb Practice Tool

By Sweetwater Customer on January 5, 2022

Added this to the end of my bass pedalboard and now every practice incorporates some time on it.
The ability to connect via USB and pull the saved loops as .wav is a killer plus and functions seamlessly.
TC hasn't provided much in terms of a manual but it is a wonderfully simple tool (although TC sometimes has hidden functionality in their buttons via long and half presses).

Great item at a great price

By jimmy from CA on January 4, 2022 Music Background: guitarist

Very happy with the Ditto. Excellent sound quality, easy to use, and quick setup. Also love the storage capacity, at that price it's hard to beat.

great pedal!

By mark A Azbill from Indiana on January 3, 2022 Music Background: 35 years of playing guitar

Ditto+

By Sweetwater Customer on January 2, 2022

Easy to use. You can build a library of riffs to go back to later when jamming. Also easy and fun to build layers to play over. Works how you expect and want it to work. I have one for bass and guitar.

Works perfectly

By Sweetwater Customer on December 29, 2021

Ditto + works just as advertised. I am not a pro and only play by myself so it's great to use. Make a few simple progressions and explore.

Incredible!

TC Electronic Ditto+ Looper Pedal

By Robert Edmondson from Southern California on December 27, 2021 Music Background: occasionally make money, always play

I have an X4 on my pedalboard, but it takes up too much space for shows, so I switched to this. Works great. Keeping the X4 for the home studio or special occasions :) Simple. straight forward, dependable, and I can keep pre=programmed loops on tap for when I need them.

Great Quality/Easy To Use

By Michael from Florida on December 26, 2021 Music Background: Guitarist

I couldn't have asked for a better looper. Does everything I need it to and more. Solid construction and the screen makes it really easy to use. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to buy their first looper pedal.

Great budget friendly looper

By Matthew Ingallinera on December 25, 2021

It does what I need a looper to do in a small pedalboard-friendly form factor.
.

Love the Product...BUT

By KENT from Tennessee on December 24, 2021 Music Background: Guitar (I try)

Product is great! However, the customer service stands out far better than the product. The customer service is excellent and superb. Sent a damaged Ditto Plus Looper. Joe Perrone made sure the product was shipped ASAP to replace the damaged one. And sent numerous emails keeping me abreast of the replacement. I have no complaints, would and will buy from Sweetwater again. Thanks' again Joe!

This is a awesome pedal.
Simple use but essential for practice.

From now I'll dig this lovely tiny pedal.

Still getting the hang of it but…

By Sweetwater Customer on December 17, 2021

…I've really enjoyed exploring the looping world with the Ditto Plus. I play a 33 string harp with a pickup. It's a very resonant instrument so the challenge so far has been figuring out how to create layers of sound that don't turn into mud. The sound quality of the output of the Ditto Plus is outstanding. I am somewhat hopeful that I can incorporate it into my live gigs.

Love this thing

By Eve from Berkeley, CA on December 15, 2021

The Ditto+ rocks. I have been playing around with it every day since I got it. I wish you could switch between two different loops more smoothly. This was my first loop, and the simplicity of the ditto makes it ideal for first-time loopers.

I would recommend this for anyone interested in getting into looping—great price and functions well for beginners.

Great tool for practice, live, and recording.

Great tool for practice, live, and recording. Friendly power requirement, easy to integrate, simple to see display, nice simple operation.

Useful device

By Dan from Ohio on December 13, 2021

This looper pedal is alot of fun. It is very easy to use.Don't understand all the confusion with usage directions. It comes with a little cheat sheet that tells you all you need to know.It is a very useful practice tool. If you are looking for a looper this is the one. So far pretty darn good.

By Michael Cicchetti from Port Washington, NY on December 1, 2021

I've bounced between a few different looping options and this has some of the more advanced features I've been looking for in a minute package. A definite steal.

Very nice little Looper

By Walt Creed from Surprise Az on December 1, 2021

Great little pedal, so easy to use. It's ideal for practicing different guitar parts of the same song. I don't think I've ever seen a pedal that is so easy to use that is so versatile as well. Highly recommended as is Sweetwater. Thank you Cody Kraus and Sweetwater!

Just Right.

By ROB NEUBERGER from OR on November 2, 2021 Music Background: Guitar and Bass; lots of bands over the years; home studio recording

A perfect device for basic looping. Dead simple to use, plenty of looping time, with an all-you-need-to-know display. I use it for practicing solos and harmonies over a basic song arrangement, so I don't waste the band's time when we all get together. A very cost-effective little device!!

Great little guy.

By Sweetwater Customer on October 12, 2021

This little guy works great for looping & over dubbing. Extremely easy to use.

So easy

By Sweetwater Customer on October 7, 2021

For the buck, this is a pretty amazing device. I love how small it is, and that I can add or drop it from the board very quickly. Best part is that it frees up my TC Flashback for non-loop delay functions. The visual tracking/time of loop, also a great feature. Not just a blinking light.

Six stars easy…

By GuiTarzan on October 6, 2021

If you're like me and you only use a looper for a few very basic tasks like recording a rhythm track to practice playing leads over or other really simple tasks than this new ditto looper is the best deal going. It does everything you want and it does it all exceedingly well. It's really easy to use and straightforward....and it's got 60 minutes of recording time and 99 slots to fill. After buying various other loopers over the years and always being bummed by one thing or another (or more) I finally found this ditto pedal and it's great. Best bang for your buck in my opinion

Silly Fun

By Mark Snyder from PA on September 13, 2021

Even though I am very tech savy I can't stand complicated pedals. I have way too many multi-effects with loopers on the shelf. Give me my clean analog pedal board, a strat and this. So much fun.

60 minutes... 99 slots!

By Arthur from Temecula, CA on June 8, 2021 Music Background: 20 years

Honestly, for a casual looper player who wants to archive musical ideas, this is it! Before this pedal, I would record the loops on my phone recording app before deleting them of my original ditto. There was a chinese brand Lekato that could do 9 slots (and featured a tuner). I was about to buy that when all of a sudden this new pedal popped up! Great timing, TC!

Review of TC Electronics Ditto + Looper

By John T. Foley from Massachusetts on May 1, 2021 Music Background: Bass Player, several rock bands. Lots of charity gigs.

I love this thing. So small and compact on my pedal board but powerful and versatile. My other loopers took way to much effort to use. TC Electronics has thought this through and maid performance friendly.

They said it was Good I say Ditto

By Jesse from South FL on April 23, 2021 Music Background: Long time noodler

I have had several looper pedals over the years. This one finally does the job right. I can work on a piece, work over it, get tired of it & work on something else & then come back to it later. I use it for practice mostly and songwriting. I don't know if I would use it in a live setting. I've only ever used a looper in a live setting as a one man band sorta setup & that was with a Boss RC-50 which is great but its huge, expensive & far more involved. The Ditto + has become a go to practice tool. Easier than anything else I've used. Great sound quality! I can build on as many parts as I want & even add bass lines without having sound degradation or loss of volume with multiple overdubs. It has a very small footprint on my pedalboard & most importantly (to me) it's very simply a looper.

This is a looper I think every guitarist should have. Easy to use. I've have so much fun with it. Continues overdubs. And helps when writing songs and playing solos. Very good purchase, and well worth the money. Thanks Sweetwater, you'll be hearing from me again soon.

Absolutely Great Addition to your pedal board

Like old slippers

By Martin on February 26, 2021

I once had a Ditto classic, which I sold to try out the new Boss RC-5. I quickly regretted this purchase: all the features of the RC-5 are great, but it's way too complicated for me. So when I saw the Ditto+, I didn't hesitate... and I don't regret it! It's the same good old Ditto, only better. The only downside is that it will take a long time to navigate through 99 memory slots, but will I ever fill it?

Ditto was good this is better

By Sweetwater Customer on February 19, 2021

Saving loops on the fly no problem. It's so easy to use and compact a must for any loop player.

By matthew holmes on February 11, 2021 Music Background: Guitar player

Great simple looping with storage doesn't get better than this for looping.

Good little looper

By Nic on February 9, 2021

This is about the most functionality you can get out of single button. It's not something you're going put your entire set on, but it's simple design makes it easy to crank out simple loops on the fly.

Small footprint, tons of utility

By Zack Gruczkowski from Atlanta, GA on February 8, 2021 Music Background: Songwriter / Gigging Musician

After a long wait on delivery with Covid shipping delays I finally got my Ditto+ and love it. So much so that I bought a second one so now I have one on my electric and acoustic pedalboards. It's my first looper pedal so I don't have a ton to compare with, but the functionality and compact size are phenomenal. After having 99 slots to store loops and have repeat access after unplugging, I doubt I could go with another looper that didn't save everything. I love the simplicity and while I don't use some of the more advanced functions (e.g. looping different length parts on top of each other) I think it does what it was built to do well. Especially for a player who just wants to use it for practicing, songwriting and occasionally jamming when you don't have a second guitarist. I had one scare where I was testing it and had an issue with not hearing my guitar during recording a loop, which I saw has been an issue with regular Ditto's. Thankfully it seemed to resolve itself and I didn't lose any loops, but I could see that being a big bummer if you had to hard reset and had a ton of stored loops. Knock on wood that was a fluke. Love the LCD display and quality TC construction/aesthetic as well.

Great Product

By JAMES IRVINE from TX on January 30, 2021

I don't understand the negative reviews. The pedal does exactly what it supposed to do. I do not fancy myself as a "tech guy"; so, if I can use it, anyone can.

Does exactly what it says it does and does it well.

By Guillermo Saar from Fairport, NY on January 28, 2021 Music Background: Using noise to cause havoc and clear rooms since '88

Loving this. Extended loop function is easy to use, and a godsend for putting together an idea quickly for either working out lyrics over it, or to get a solo over, or whatever you think of to use it as. The value of this pedal as a tool to develop ideas. I have not had a chance to try it out live yet (DAMYOUCOVID) but it will be hella fun to throw some quick improv in between full band jams, and for triggering pre-recorded background noise pads, etc. It seems to me that you get way more than what the relatively modest price would indicate. Great product.

Huge Step Forward, Amazing Looper

By Neil on January 20, 2021 Music Background: Guitar/bass player,

I bought his Ditto Plus Looper based on a review by a couple of fellows on YouTube.

The people who designed this new version of the Ditto really did their homework, listened to all those that sent in ideas, and kept a close eye on the competition. This one really does the job, and so easy to use. The last looper I used came with a 80 page user manual, still sits in a box somewhere.

- Amazingly enough it is the same size as the original Ditto
- Has a very large and clear LED display, so you know exactly where you are in your loop.
- Has extended play mode, this is very useful if your original loop is not long enough. (the main reason I bought it)
- Simple and easy to use, barely one page of instructions.

The ability to store your loops is where this really makes a huge difference, 99 of them to be exact. When I am noodling around I plug it in record my ideas, quick and easy, then connect the usb and upload to file on the computer for safe keeping.

At this price point you can't go wrong. Kudo's to the engineers at TC Electronics.

Oh and shout out to the fellows at Sweetwater. These guys really know how to make a customer happy.

Great Looper

By Sweetwater Customer from Hartland, WI on January 19, 2021

Simple to operate, excellent sound and the ability to save loops is what led me to this pedal. Small footprint and all my loops on tap is exactly what I needed. Sweetwater was the only place I could find it for sale and the customer service is out of this world!

Definitely worth it for the price.

By Caleb Williams on January 19, 2021 Music Background: Guitar player for almost 9 years.

I absolutely love this pedal. It is definitely one of the nicer mini looper pedals on the market. And the fact that you can save up to 99 different loops in tha pedal and a total of 1 hour of recording time is just incredibly. I highly recommend this pedal to anyone who is looking for a great looper pedal, or is limited on space for one.

By Mike from Deland, FL on January 18, 2021 Music Background: Hobby player

Lots of fun...great tool for practice! Much better than regular Ditto pedal. Super small footprint for your pedal board.

For practice or for a gig, this is next level.

By JuanderBoy on January 18, 2021

Easy to use and absolutely reliable. I can't believe it took me so long to get this.

Best Looper Pedal on the market!!

By Jair on January 17, 2021

The Pedal is just the best, nothing is close to the Ditto Looper Plus when talking about making loops for guitar or bass. The attention from Sweetwater was exceptional, I totally recommend buying anything with them!

Incredible

By Lufe Lima from FREMONT, CA on January 10, 2021

I love this pedal. I bought it for my small second set, but I am so impressed that I may use it as may main looper. I love my Ditto 2, but this tiny monster stores 99 loops and up to 30 minutes. I was worried about the lack of a individual stop button, but it is not hard at all to tap twice as the toggle is really responsive. It is fantastic! TC Electronic did it again!

Worth the upgrade from the Ditto

By Makenzie from Nashville on December 29, 2020 Music Background: Full time musician

Got this in the mail today and was able to play it at my acoustic show tonight. Super straight forward and easy to use. I've been using the Ditto all year, but wanted to have the screen as well as preset/saved songs... I looped about 4 songs before my gig and they all saved perfectly and were super easy to access... Grab this pedal.

Awesome fun!

By Sweetwater Customer on April 8, 2024

I have owned a half dozen loop pedals in my 25+ years of playing and I have personally found the one I've waited for! Sound quality and ease of use is great. It's been great for working on new music when you don't have someone to jam with.

Be sure you have a good power supply, it'll be the difference of it working properly or not. Only suggestion I could make to TC is to include a power supply with it.

Simple, but more than capable

By Sweetwater Customer on July 27, 2022

This looper is easier to use than most, but it has an attractive, informative display and capabilities beyond most other loopers. The extended looping capability is fantastic. So, buy it because it's easy, stay because it will cover just about all of your bases. Half a star off, though, because the documentation is sorely lacking.

Amazing performance from such a small device

By Sweetwater Customer on December 27, 2021 Music Background: Experienced amateur musician

It is a substantial upgrade from the original looper which I also have. Now you can store multiple recorded tracks and/or have an extended track. My eyesight is not as good as it used to be so I have to pick it up in order to read the screen. It is truly an amazing device which allows one to quickly record your inspirations at a very high quality. When you are done you can upload to your favorite software to finalize your project. Highly recommend it.

More of a good thing !

By Sweetwater Customer on December 22, 2021

What's not to like ? Same physical size, more time for loops, which you can now save for later !
I had been looking for this, since they announced it, seems like a couple of years back, finally here, and thanks to Sweetwater, it was cheaper than my original! Ed C.

Nice pedal - bad instructions

By Matt B on January 26, 2021

This pedal is great though the lack of instructions was a bit confusing - like why would they only have a quick start guide and not make full instructions? Someone could make them in half a day. Also had an issue erasing loops on my computer and the pedal still thinking it was "full" so I wanted to factory reset it - which took a lot of poking around to figure out. For factory reset hold the footswitch and two other buttons down for around 13 seconds. As far as ease of use on the pedalboard I have zero complaints - the screen is great and once you figure out a couple things its easy to use. Bringing tracks and loops from a computer seems to be less useful than I'd assumed but thats not why I bought it so not really an issue for me.

One Of The Best Practice Tools Going

By Randy Rektor on December 30, 2020

I pre-ordered this pedal the day it came out. Having been a long-time Ditto user with the original pedal, the X2 and the Ditto Mic Looper, I had high hopes for this pedal. The build is fantastic and the additional features added in this update are great. I don't know that the memory bank is something that I will use as it would be hard to navigate on stage, but for a practice tool, this is second to none. One drawback of the single-pedal loopers is not having a dedicated stop button. For that reason, my X2 will continue to get the bulk of the gig-work.

Great Looper with NO MANUAL

By Mike from Oregon on October 14, 2022 Music Background: Guitar Musician for over 65 Years

I love my new looper, but without a "User's Manual" that explains how to operate and interface with a computer to save and store the loopes, the device is incomplete. TC Electronic's web site was not much help and in order to register my Looper, I must establish an account. Not Kool, so I refused to register!

Very cool

By Sweetwater Customer on March 11, 2022

I bought this pedal for my brother for Christmas on sale, and man, I should have taken advantage of the sale for myself. I played with it for a while before packaging it up, and was really impressed. My brother liked it too. Very easy to use and great features.
One star off for the annoyance of not coming with a power cord.

Great Pedal

By Sweetwater Customer from OH on March 1, 2022

This is my first pedal and I'm still getting use to it but so far I really like it. The large display that tells me where I am at in the loop and the status (Play Record pause empty) is easy to figure out. The one thing I have problems with is the one button, I constantly miss hit the button (2 taps to stop) and start recording over the track. I'm hoping I'll master this in the coming weeks.

Great looper for practicing and more

By Mike from Arkansas on January 25, 2022

Been using the Ditto for practicing leads, but could see it being used for gigs also.

Only thing I have an issue with is that stopping the loop takes two pushes. One push will cause you to record a second layer on your loop. I've done it accidentally a couple times.

I would highly recommend the Ditto! Best purchase I've made in quite a while.

Nice pedal

By Sweetwater Customer on January 12, 2022

I bought this for my brother for Christmas and of course I had to try it out before I wrapped it up.
At the half off sale price this pedal was a really good deal, and it didn't bother me that I had to order a power supply separately.
At full price, I do find the fact that it doesn't come with a power cord a bit annoying. Also annoying was that it was difficult to find info on their website if the power supply should be center negative (yes, this one) or center positive (no). Also a little bummed you can't just put a 9V battery in it.
But other than that, in spite of there not being any documentation, it was easy enough to figure out how to use, and it worked and sounded great. Definitely a great deal at half off, and still a great pedal even at full price.

So far so good

By JJ on December 31, 2021

Works pretty well, love the extended looping mode. Just know that once you start extended loop mode and then delete that track, it screws it up so now the original loop is now the length you made during the extended loop. It doesn't revert to the original length and (from I can tell) you can't do extended loop on that track now…..unless you delete the thing and start over. And for layering, once you put a 3rd layer on it, that 2nd layer is baked on and can't be removed. It didn't come with instructions and I can't figure out what the 'back level' does. Otherwise, for the price I'm happy with it so far

Nice looper

Works great! The only thing I wish it had would be auto start.

Pretty Good Minus Complaints

By Ben from NC on December 7, 2021 Music Background: Hobbyist

Lack of USB-C is a con. Tap tap hold to clear a loop it's kind of dumb because it starts, then abruptly stop your track. Wouldn't be good for a live setting. They at least could have faded it out. At first when I got this thing I had my boost and fuzz pedals turned all the way up. They will completely drown out the sound of your loop. You need to turn them down when using this thing. Kind of annoying. I've yet to really dive into extended loop mode. Really liking the big screen and simplicity. Minus my gripes this thing is great.

Ditto+

By Gene Louis from Delaware on December 7, 2021 Music Background: Songwriter, producer, guitar and bassist, Band guy

I very much like this pedal however I found the instructions lacking in the explanation of various functions claimed by tc electronic. For example: the device quick start guide does NOT explain #'s 5 & 7 to any degree of usefulness. It does Not explain what or how the repeat sign on the right of the circle or what appears to be a tape loop symbol on the left of the circle work nor does it explain the green left facing arrow that is shown on the promotional materials. I have emailed TC Electronics for explanations and will call them today as well. Lastly, you better take great care in pressing the button as you can wipe out the loop you need 5 seconds before you need it on stage. :( I would have liked the pedal to have an internal battery but can live with that.

6 Month Review - Good, Solid, Compact Looping Pedal

By Dave Belknap from Host of Live Life Loud: The Decibolic Podcast on August 27, 2021 Music Background: 30+ years of playing live, in the studio, and selling gear

I've toyed with looping pedals since 2012, watching their progress in the marketplace. In 2015 I bought my first only to return it a few weeks later. But now I had a better idea of what I wanted in a looping pedal, the features, ease of use, form factor, etc. It would take a few years of revisiting the idea until I decided on this one.
The Ditto+ gave me mostly what I wanted in a size that made sense. The ability to do extended loop layering proves interesting but not something I have found necessary. The display has a good visibility, and the ease moving track to track (phrase to phrase) is very handy. I have also found 60 minutes is more than enough time for what I need when using the device. Sound quality is fine, and the ability to import/export to it's memory is a welcome feature especially for making use of scratch recordings when fleshing out new songs.
As I said, it mostly gave me what I wanted. Some of the features missing are likely available on higher priced pedals. I would love it if this had a "countdown" option when laying down an initial track that could be turned on/off. Many a time I will start a loop and find space at the beginning or my initial chord cut off. While I do appreciate the timer for recording, the small replay time bar under the play/record indicator isn't the most useful.
By and far though my biggest quibble with the device is...power. I appreciate that it can be powered by a standard 9-volt pedal adapter, but the requirement to have it powered by this when plugged into my computer makes it a task to import/export at time. Lastly, it would be great if the pedal tap/use instructions came with the unit on a nice clear coated decal I could place on my pedal board.
Overall, the size, the build & sound quality, record-ability length, and ease of use are what I need a looping pedal.

Great little looper

By Patrick on March 28, 2021

Does the job. Can be a bit sensitive to the touch but overall I'm very happy.

Would love to love it more

By Bobby from Blacksburg, VA on December 31, 2020 Music Background: Amateur

This is my first ever looper, so I have nothing really to compare it to. It's basic functionality (i.e., Ditto mode) is flawless. Sweet and simple. If you're thinking of this or the old Ditto, say, the ability to record more/longer loops, recall older ones and off-load them to disk, is definitely worth the extra twenty-five bucks or so. But I am annoyed by two things.

One: none of the instructions in the box explain how to engage extended loop mode (one of the new features). I couldn't find it in any documentation on the web, including on TC Electronic's pages. I did, eventually, figure it out by watching the demo YouTube video very closely. (You have too hold down the left and right buttons for three seconds.) Once engaged, it doesn't seem to work exactly how I understood it would from that video. Apparently you can extend the first dub, when recording the second, but not any subsequent overdubs. That seems like a serious limitation, but it's quite possible I'm using it wrong because I haven't any documentation to consult.

Two: the colorful display is pretty, but ultimately doesn't provide a ton of useful information. A old-school pair of LED digits would have been sufficient. Meanwhile, there doesn't appear to be a way to switch the display off, or any sort of "sleep" feature to save energy when not actively in use, or when you want to make the room dark for sleeping. For that you have to unplug, which isn't very graceful for an otherwise aesthetically pleasing device.

I'd like to think that both of those drawbacks are fixable with a firmware upgrade. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised to see one before long.

Great except for one thing

By Sweetwater Customer on June 7, 2023 Music Background: Professional Engineer & Producer

Everything about this looper is great except for the fact that the volume knob is a digital encoder instead of a true potentiometer. If it goes past full volume or past infinity, it will not reset to the proper volume setting without manual adjustment.

A little disappointing

By Aaron on May 9, 2022 Music Background: Moderate to Advanced guitarist

When i first got this pedal i was very excited but now after using it for a year straight i can give a couple of good pluses and minuses about the product.
Cons
- Ive had several corrupted files when erasing a part and its incredibly annoying. I have to completely start over because it didnt erase the complete part
- I can never erase more than the most recent recorded layer. If i am wrong feel free to reach out and correct me and i will readjust my rating on stars. So basically if you want to erase more than your latest guitar part you cant. Ive looked at the manual and tried all kinds of ways possible it wont erase more than the last guitar part you had just recorded.
- Your space goes off of minutes but once its full you cant record anymore HOWEVER if you want to add to other songs you can. Just doesnt really make sense.

Pros
-its true bypass which makes a much more raw sound and the quality is good!
-it is very simplistic design which i like.
-other than the cons of corrupted files it has been a sturdy and well constructed pedal. And its small for saving space which is also a plus.

Ditto+ Looper

By David Shirey from NJ on April 10, 2021 Music Background: Collect guitars that I can't play very well.

Sweetwater people are great, very knowledgeable and super friendly. Number one complaint with the Ditto+ is that the package includes a "Quick Start Guide" which states "Visit tcelectronic.com to download the full manual" BUT there is no Full Manual. Unfortunately I received a defective looper and not having used one before and no good instructions - I spent hours trying to figure out what i was doing wrong. They have the firmware download but after downloading I found I did not need it and wasted more time. If you used a looper AND you get one that works you'll probably be satisfied with only a "Quick Start Guide".

The Sweetwater people got me sorted out and shipped a replacement unit which worked fine, so thank you again Sweetwater.

Simple and Intuitive-- But storage space is limited

By Lou from New York, NY on December 26, 2020

It's plug and play, with a dead-simple interface to get started recording. Huge gripe: 512MB of storage. It does not allow you to import mp3's-- so if you're importing .wav's you're limited to 5-10 backing tracks max.

It's petty good but one Issue

By Brendan from MO - Missouri on January 25, 2023 Music Background: Experienced

Storing saved loops is awsome.
Having 99 files is awsome.
Having an hour for each file is awsome.
The simple access of this pedal is awsome.
Unfortunately there is an issue.
The issue is that pause. When you play the loop it and doesn't matter how smooth or quickly I can time it. I hear a very noticeable pause. You can loop over the paused part to make it more professional but honestly it should be addressed. It's not a bad pedal. It realy needs a some more tweeking.

Good looper, but use with backing tracks/loops, have limits.

By Paul from Gunnison, CO on December 9, 2021 Music Background: Singer, Acoustic Guitar, 20 years.

Just wanted to weigh in on what file format works if you're trying to use an entire audio backing track as one of the 99 tracks available through a USB. Yes, it is possible to import and play a custom song track to support one's guitar for a live performance. Here's how: Use a free app. like Audacity, to convert audio to a Microsoft, WAV, 44100 Hz, 24 Bit PCM precisely. However, the file size will be huge; a 4-minute track will result in up to 90-MBs. Because the entire Ditto+ memory holds only 512.5 MBs, you will run out of space after 5 songs. I don't think this is what the designers had in mind.

Given all the limits, this still a fine looper that has the ability and potential to boost live performance and certainly becomes an aid to practicing leads over loop tracks. At the very least, the interface display makes it easy for stage. The library of possible stored loops is a great feature; it's just a question of listing what number to find and select between 1 and 99 and how best to navigate without bending down when on stage. Its smaller side library buttons may not be totally foot friendly.

Awesome Little Looper!!

By Sweetwater Customer on October 28, 2021

This is my favorite pedal on my board. If your looking for a solid looper pedal with more than enough storage you need this. Perfect pedal for a solo player looking to add some extra instruments to your mix! It's also a great tool to practice riffs and work on solos.

Depends what you use it for

By Greg from N Midwest on March 3, 2021 Music Background: Gigging musician, worship leader

PRO: super easy to use, foot switch triggers without the 'stomp'. Learning curve? What learning curve?! Small footprint. Great for practice.
CON: sound quality and memory are lower and smaller than other manufacturers. Also, unless I missed something, a small error multiplies over time and causes the phrase to 'drift' out of sync with the metronome.

I like it for what it is, but it's not a loop station. I think it's an awesome practice tool, but not not my choice for live playing. I will be exploring the Boss RC 500 for future live playing,

mixed emotions

By mark west from Oregon on March 1, 2021

I didn't do my homework with this one, it comes without a power supply, and doesn't have a beat to work with, of course Sweetwater bailed me out, yet again, and sent a power supply, but I feel they should not have had to. I need to read the specs so there's no surprises. I wont shop ANYWHERE else unless I cant find it at Sweetwater. the customer service is so good, you feel like your dealing with a Trusted Friend. thanks for all of your hard work.

So far so good.

By Joseph Loven from Florida on February 16, 2021 Music Background: Guitar, bass.

Turned it on yesterday and the screen was spinning up and down, turned it off and back on and it was fine. First time it happened. Otherwise it's been an excellent looper. But the jury is still out because of the screen glitch, otherwise it would be 5 stars. I'd it happens again I'll post an update.

Same as rich

By Sweetwater Customer on January 1, 2021

Lack of manual to explain full use of product. The only thing given is quick start guide. I sat for 4hrs trying to find out this pedal only to find out there is nothing.

I Should have been more careful to read the full specs

By Jerome McHugh from Elk Grove, CA on March 27, 2023 Music Background: rank armature but still aspiring guitar player

I intend to return this item because it is using a mini USB port I didn't really notice that when reading about the item. Lesson learned I will be a more careful reader in the future. I mean 'cmon it's 2023 I haven't owned anything with a mini USB in 10 years and I have thrown all of those cable in the trash. One of the attractive features to me was the ability to connect it to my computer and be able to drag backing tracks into a folder structure, but the included cable is very short and I would have to disconnect the looper from my rig and take it over to my computer. If tc electronics releases an updated pedal with even USB micro ( it's crazy, but I do still have a few older devices that use this ) but I hope tce releases a pedal that supports the defacto usb C standard connector.

A bit of a disappointment.

By Cory on November 4, 2021

I love the overall design of this pedal, but there are a couple of glaring design flaws:

- The "press twice to stop" function is incredibly awkward. I use the pedal to play background loops between tracks during live performances, and having to press twice to stop makes it really difficult to time things. It would be great if you could switch to a single press start/stop if you don't need to use the overdub function, or a "hold to overdub" function or something like that.
- The screen has almost no useful information. It would be great if it would allow you to name loops, or display the file name if you import loops from a computer. I don't need a giant "play/pause/record" icon if it means it's harder to know which loop is called up (as is, it only displays a number for each loop).

Disappointed

By Rich from VT on December 27, 2020

I was pretty jazzed to open this up on Christmas Day. Stuck it on the end of my pedal board and expected to go to town after downloading any update patches. Four hours later after being unable to sign into the tc electronics joke of a website because it kept timing out. If I don't see another robot pick out the traffic lights picture anytime soon, well anyway, I scoured the internet for instructions to really dig into the options and there are none. Anywhere. TC doesn't offer any, at all. Nothing but the little quick start guide. So I tried just diving in. First loop, right on. Sound quality is good, real good. Then everything fell apart. As I have seen on other sites and in videos everything falls apart on that second loop. Two hours later and a whole lot of web searching there is the added feature of adding a longer loop on top of the first loop that happens from holding down on the foot switch too long. Long story short, not nearly as easy to use as my old, very old boss that does one loop and that's it. Was really looking forward to storing loops and will I hope but learning curve is larger than planned with lack of instructions available. After finally accessing the website it looks like everyone has been jumping on TC for the same thing I am saying here. No instructions, no real follow up on getting any out there. So I guess buyer beware or ready anyway for figuring the intricacies of this pedal out on your own until more you tubers get stuff out on it.

Not so good

Sounded awful low... Wish I could return..

Epic fail on capacity/file format

By Nick from Santa Cruz on January 3, 2022 Music Background: Enthusiast

I splurged for the Ditto+ over the regular Ditto on the promise of 99 tracks and 60 minutes of play time. I envisioned putting a gig's worth of backing tracks on it. The reality is that it only plays WAV files, not MP3, and it only has 500 MB of storage capacity, which is a joke, considering you can get a 32 GB flash drive for $5. In addition, once you load a track onto it, it has to be bounced into the Ditto format, which means that you really only have access to maybe half that storage. As a result, I was only able to load 3 backing tracks on it, or about 15 minutes of music. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after the return period, so I'm stuck with it. The good news is that it has the same great functionality and build quality as the standard Ditto, with the added benefit of dynamic loop length. So, if you're using it just to capture ideas or for live looping, then you'll probably be very happy with it. But if you're thinking of using this for backing tracks, forget it. Save your money and look elsewhere, or just get the tried and true regular Ditto.

Disappointed by Storage Capacity

By Sweetwater Customer on November 6, 2021

What attracted me to this looper was the ability to download backing tracks into the looper and then easily scroll to a particular loop/backing track. As many others have mentioned, the lack of a decent user manual is annoying, so it took some time searching the internet to figure out how to download backing tracks. It ended up being pretty easy to download the backing tracks, but they have to be WAV files...not MP3. WAV files are much bigger, so after downloading maybe 5 or 6 backing tracks, the memory was already full. It's nowhere near the 60 minutes that I was hoping for. If I would have realized this when I first received it, I would have sent it back and looked for something else. If the firmware could be updated to accept MP3 backing tracks so that I could download more songs into it, I would give it a five star rating.

I really want to like it….

By Copperhand Don on September 29, 2022

The great thing about this pedal is it compact size, simplicity of use and 60 minutes of loop time. These were the main reasons I chose it
over others. It is a great practice device. The one glitch I can't live with is the loop momentarily starting again when going to erase it.
This alone makes it impossible to use on the fly when improvising live and switching between instruments. This is even quite annoying when just practicing. I could go to a new loop to work around this for simple 12 bar blues. My playing style is progressive rock with complicated arrangements. It would be rather awkward to have to bend down and change tracks while also changing instruments. I expected more for the price, so this one is going back to be exchanged. Also note it does not have a battery option. I wish I would have started reading the reviews at the bottom before purchasing.

60 minutes worth of loops - NO WAY

By Phillip Adkins on January 7, 2022 Music Background: 25 Years Noise Jazz

Lemme just say - this is a great little looper in design but there are some major problems with storing and importing loops.

I've got about 22 loops imported here. MAX length of a loop is 17 seconds. That's about 7 minutes worth of loops MAX - and it's OUT OF MEMORY. I can loop in those 22 slots and in no other slots. See video for a demonstration of this issue.

I bought this pedal assuming I could upload enough loops to explore and write tunes but it's highly limited.

I love the concept but there's just something wrong with this pedal.

DITTO (-)

By Pedro from Chesapeake on December 25, 2021 Music Background: working musician

Backing track function is vague at best. TC Electronic support leaves much to be desired. Overall, regret the purchase and will warn friends and family on social media about my experience with this product. Lesson learned again, do not buy a plus version of the original. The original DITTO is awesome and I whole heartily endorse it. What was I thinking, the only thing plus was the research I had to do on the backing track function and who needs that plus. The cheap sale price makes total sense now in hindsight.

Not a fan

By Dean Wells from WARREN, PA on September 1, 2021

I don't have a lot of experience with looper pedals, but I can tell you that if they are as all as tricky to trigger as this one, then I hate all looper pedals. The double tap on the button to stop it is incredibly annoying and awkward. I fooled with this pedal for a couple weeks and haven't touched it since. It is a train wreck waiting to happen in live situations.

Hyped, Delayed and Came Up Short

By Tonehound from Palm Harbor, FL on January 26, 2021 Music Background: Pro musician

I bought this for the feature to be able to play over a smaller loop with longer length loop layers.
The weak instructions never addressed the feature, yet, this was the hyped feature for this new model. I never was successful engaging this feature. Further, the sound fidelity beyond two layers was mushy and did not distinguish very well between layers. I used both clean acoustic and electric guitars with similar results. I am an experienced looper user.

To this point, I have been using two loopers (NuX Core Deluxe) to accomplish the short initial loop under longer loops to success. I thought this unit would consolidate that. It did not.

Considering other new features of the unit were "catch up" to what I already had in the NuX unit, it was returned in a day.

Studio or Live?

By Tim from CA on July 13, 2022 Music Background: GTR

you can get Logic Pro 10.....so...

As for live, no. No way. Unless you've developed a comedy act based on making inappropriate noises with pedals. Then, for sure. ( The reviews next to mine go through the details)

I really dislike it. Look elsewhere, and good luck.

Do Not Buy

By Dennis from Holly Springs, NC on February 4, 2022 Music Background: Hobbyist

This looks great, and it sounds great, and it SEEMS great but, there are tons of buggy problems. Some maybe the unit I got, others I've read others also had, so they are known and the company isn't fixing.

PROS
1 Sounds great
2 Connects to the Mac very well, all the time, every time. Disconnect, reconnect. Most externals are not this good.
3 Metal pedal is solid
4 Small Foot Print
5 Display is fantastic and nice green/red colors

CONS
1 No real manual. How to import, what to import, how to update, no manual for this. You have to search and guess. 24bit, 44,100 WAV file only. No MP3, no aiff
2 Long times since last update and this is buggy so the company isn't supporting the product. Pass!
3 Import WAV files. Sometines one will work. Other times, it won't. Some files, the looper gets terminally stuck "processing" over and over and over until you pull the plug and restart it. Then it work. Go up and back a few loops entries and it does it all over again. Always.
4 I'm not happy with the timing of the foot button. I've gotten better timing with the Strymon Timeline and other products. This timing is a little wonky and you have to be patient and try it a few times until you get used to how the mechanism works. It's klunky IOW.
5 No space for battery
6 USB and power are kinda close. It's not a fatal flaw, just don't like it for clear pulling plugs out.

I wasted a week trying to get this working and its entirely NOT a professional device and for home practice its frustrating as hell.

About ALL I can see this being good for is if you do your own loops on the fly and can nail the timing of how the switch works.

Now not useable

By John K from Richmond on April 12, 2021

Worked great for a short period of time. Now is not usable because of the 'crackling' - like a badly shielded cord.

Why the wait?

By Jim on January 5, 2021

i was very disappointed seeing this is not a lot, waited over 3 months for this????? well folks its a basic looper pedal with 60 minutes of record time...it doesn't do much of anything at all...no decent instructions, though I was able to finally figure it out, but expected a lot more...I have the wally looper too, it is only five minutes storage... with 60 minutes loop time...
