Kramer D-1
This review is for the Kramer D-1, I bought from Sweetwater about a year ago. It has a different headstock and is a little lighter than the Disciple, but everything else looks identical. I have other basses in various price ranges, but this is my favorite go to bass. I just wanted to clear up something in the description and in other reviews. If it has the Seymour Duncan pickup, it is not active, does not have a battery or EQ. It has two volume knobs one for each coil in the humbucker pickup. and one tone knob. It has no hum even when playing on one coil. The bridge saddles wouldn't move quite far enough to adjust the intonation, but that was an easy fix. I removed the little springs from the screw, then the saddle would move further enough for perfect intonation. Had to fix a stripped screw in the access cover but that was easy. now it's my favorite bass
Whoa!
I bought this expecting to get a "pretty good" bass and I ended up getting an absolute beast! First off, it just looks cool. I needed an instrument suited for heavier music and this guitar simply drew me in based on the visual appeal. Super flawless jet black finish and the hardware on this machine is outstanding! The Seymour Duncan pickup puts out an enormous amount of sound! By far the loudest and thumpiest of passive basses that I have in my collection! The lightweight body and fast neck are great also, as I'm 48 and getting tired of large clunky P-style bass guitars.
Amazing value! I would recommend this bass to all players at ANY level! No B.S., Kramer knocked it out of the park on this one!
