Despite its unassuming appearance, the RME Digiface AVB is a beast of an audio interface. With it, you can stream up to 128 channels of 192kHz audio to and from an AVB network. And its streams are configurable from 2 to 32 channels to accommodate a wide range of AVB devices. The included AVDECC controller software allows discovery of all AVB devices on your network, along with management of incoming and outgoing streams. Beyond that, you get RME's powerful real-time mixing software, TotalMix FX. The Digiface AVB also supplies you with remote control from your iOS device, PC, or Mac.

I upgraded from a 10yr old 32 Channel firewire audio interface to the RME Digiface AVB Audio Interface and RME M1610-Pro AD/DA converter combo. The upgrade in sound quality is outstanding. The setup is not for the faint of heart but once you get the routing between the converter and the interface working, the TotalMixFX software setup is straightforward.
