Classic Laney sound in a stomp box!

By Tom V. from Texas
Music Background: Wannabe Extraordinaire

If you like the Laney sound and modern convenience, then check this thing out. Sounds great, crisp and fat cleans with gritty raunchy overdrive. This things makes a great headphone amp with its fx loop allowing you to be kind to you neighbors and housemates without compromising sound and function. The DI out is great for recording or modern stage setups, or use it to drive a fridge with a power amp on top whatever you like.

Quite a nice preamp

By Mark E. from BALTIMORE, MD

I was on the fence so long as to a new amp purchase. One of the choices was the Laney Digbeth 2-10 combo.Bought the preamp rather than the combo as eq options don't rely simply on the combo's tilt control (actually cool idea and quite functional).I look forward to a live tryout soon.
Just a couple of niggling details that fell short: The center pos on the tilt and lo mid knobs do not line up with the dots. Not far enough off to be a major concern.
As always thanks to my rep Skyler G. Ridiculously quick order process and delivery. He has been a huge help in getting my gear together over the last two years.

Nice bass DI and Preamp:

By Bill H. from Charlotte, NC
Music Background: Guitar and bass player for 60+ years. ReverbNation Instrumental Artist

The Laney Digbeth is a hidden gem in my mind. I use it after a tube pre for some tube magic and then fine tune the eq. I really like it for the on pedal direct control of eq and gain with real knobs. The Tube emulation and FET sections cane be blended or used separately and I like the mix of both. I can get fat, deep clean tones or with grit and tube grunt if I want. I'm only recording through it directly into an interface and the DI out is totally quiet. There's a lot to work with that allows you to fine tune your tone. I have not tried it with a bass amp, but I'm sure it would probably be great. I think that it's definitely worth a look. It's also very solid with a metal enclosure and tight jacks and knobs. Check the demos and hear and see what you think for yourself. I'm happy having it in my rig!

Phenomenal Box

By Ben

I have the Laney Ironheart pedal as well, and I absolutely love it. So I figured, this would perform just as well. I was wrong. It's better.

I use this in a cover band that covers a lot of different tones and dynamics, and being able to use the tube switch to engage a blend with the FET and Tube is a super cool feature. The Tube is fun to play with by itself, but this pedal really shines when you put them together.

It is incredibly easy to dial in a really great tone, and the actual change in the EQ from 0-10 is quite a sweep so anyone can get what they need.

Dial In Your Sound...Whatever it is!

By Thomas B. from ANN ARBOR, MI
Music Background: Semi professional

I've been shopping for a bass preamp for a few months and came close a few times. Sweetwater started carrying the Laney Digbeth before I decided, and I'm glad they did. Let me qualify. I have more pedals than most bass players. I have a live looping setup with a drum machine pedal and two loopers. To make that effective, I have many effects that can change the sound of my bass so that I can create varied sonic soundscapes to jam over. As a result, I don't really need or want my amp to have effects. Many of the bass preamps do.

The Digbeth has two channels: a FET and Tube based sound. I've never been much of a tube guy, but I like the idea of having options. What I was really going for was a clean, crisp sound with the ability to dial in the tone I like. Digbeth delivers! I can get the perfect tone. It even has a single knob that I can use to shift more toward bass or treble, which is nice to make small adjustments between basses that have different native tones.

The thing I love most is the silence. The FET preamp is so clean and quiet that I don't get any annoying hum when I'm not playing. Any noise at all comes from my pedals. My instruments have never sounded better!
