The DW 9999 heavy-duty double-braced tom/cymbal stand gives you a flexible way to outfit your kit the way you like it, without unnecessary hardware! The 9999 includes ball-in-socket 1/2"-diameter arms, an integrated auxiliary clamp, and heavy-gauge tubing. You can mount a tom and a cymbal on this stand, and still have convenient adjustment options. Sturdiest Stands Around
In an effort to not go crazy and build a mega-kit, I decided to limit myself by using 4 DW stands instead of drum rack. 2 of those stands are these. It means I have to get creative when I want to expand, putting arms on arms. My mad engineering is only possible because of the high quality of DW hardware. Everything stays exactly in place. I guess the only potential negative could be the weight, but I don't gig with these, so that's not a concern of mine.

Somewhere, there is a T-800 Terminator missing an arm. lol. I'll be replacing all my stands.

I purchased this stand for a DW piccolo tom, cymbal and tamborine/bell holder.
This is built like a tank.
With the DW small hi hat stand I also got from S-water with it's flat legs, responsive, fast action and small fold up design, I'm sold on DW.

My search is over
I've been trying to position my Tom's directly over my bass drum. DW performance series kit. Watching other drummers playing with them there. After inspecting pictures, I finally saw this stand is what I needed. Problem solved! Solid and very universal.

When they say heavy duty, they really mean it. If you don't mind humping these stands you will never have to worry about them failing.

Prior to purchasing, I was able to research what was out there for hardware but this product goes above and beyond in precision, quality and sturdiness. You will not be disappointed. If you aren't real familiar with hardware in general, it is packed in a different configuration to fit well during shipping so you did purchase the "right" stand.
Great all around stand.
Would have given it 5 stars if they would offer the third arm to attach in the middle with the stand. Otherwise just like all other 9000 stands and hardware from DW, I wouldn't expect anything less. Easy setup and very sturdy.
