A beast
This thing is built like a tank! I have up to a 24" ride cymbal on one, and the stand doesn't move/sway at all. When using one for crash cymbals, etc., where the tubes and boom are extended at almost full range, the movement is minimal, especially when compared to other boom stands (I use at least two other brands) with counterweights, which move excessively when in use. If there's a downside, it's the price, but it's an exceptional product, and built to last

This beauty of a stand is perfect for my very heavy main ride cymbal. I was fortunate to find this jewel of DW 9000 Series hardware because I never knew that it even existed in the first place. I love the fact that it has a 3/4"dia.boom arm instead of the flimsy 1/2" used on standard cymbal stands. It uses hollow tubing instead of solid steel and that makes it stronger and lighter and it just looks more Professional! More drummers need to know about this excellent example of typical DW Excellence and Joe's special sweetwater style...in the mean time I'm waiting for the arrival of my second stand...it's great to be a drummer;^)

Nice stand, just what I wanted.
Very sturdy
This is a solid piece of kit.
The photos don't do justice for how heavy and solid it is.
I've got a ~3200 gram ride on it, out about 2 feet from the base of the stand, and the stand doesn't move the slightest.
