Hihat stand
Great stand and easy to assemble. This thing is built 5o last.
DW 9000 series 2 leg Hi-hat stand
It's DW, you can't go wrong with DW products. This is my second time buying this hi-hat stand if that says anything by itself. Sold it with my first kit and wish I never did but I liked it so much I knew when it was time to get another one, there 2// no other choice.
Very solid
It's top-notch and very solid.
This will be my third hi hat stand. The build quality is a beast and should last a lifetime.
DW products are always highly engineered with exceptional quality. You can't find a better solution on the market today when it comes to quality stands. Also, thank you Sweetwater for always being there for all of us.
very happy with this purchase
solid... everything stays where i set... very dependable. I don't know much about what it can be adjusted to, but it went together quick and held steady
Built like a tank
I have had a lot of hihat stands over the last 40 years and this is one of the best. The two leg design makes pushing hihat, double bass pedals, snare, cymbal and tom stands closely together so much easier. And for a two-leg stand this thing is solid as a rock to play on. I even like that it has the ability to lean towards me a bit. All of that stability comes at the cost of a lot of weight, but if you can deal with that, this is a great stand.
The Best Hi-Hat Stand Ever Made
This stand is just the best hi-hat stand I've ever bought and it is just nothing compared to others. The stand is so heavy duty and infinitely adjustable to suit my playing style. I also like how I'm able to adjust the sensitivity of the cams whether I want a more sensitive, bouncy-like feel, or a tight, stiff feel when you hit your hi-hats, which is something I can never find in other hi-hat stands. This stand also has a lot of memory locks so your stand will always stick with what you're comfortable with if you do a lot of gigs.
DW 9000
I love this stand it's so smooth. I have the 3000 it's not even close to how great the 9000 is.I just bought the 9000 double pedals. This stand goes nice with my pedals. This hardware is not cheap but worth every penny. Sweetwater is the best place to do business with.
New Gear
Thank you very much Eric Voit
Rock Solid
As a bass player who has recently gone down the rabbit hole with drumming, I didn"t want to buy gear that was just "OK". Having stood next to drummers most of my life, I noticed invariably that they were using DW hardware regardless of the shells. Even though they were more dough, in the end they will be the best value as I will never have to replace them. Thanks Sweetwater for a great experience at GearFest!
Amazing.
Why did I wait so long!!!!! . Loving this new stand. I was a little bit concerned about the fact it just had two legs but it is just as stable as my old three Legged stand.
One Of The Best Hi Hats!
This stand replaces a Pearl H20000 model that was very smooth but somewhat limited on spring tension range. Not enough resistance for me. The DW 9500 has a better range for me, and the Eccentric Cam along with the slightly higher-mounted footboard provides very smooth, precise action . The extra, shorter pull-rod provided is a nice touch, too! The bottom cymbal tilter adjustment is the best I've used. It's in a class all its own, like the Mag Strainer on their snares. What else does one need in a hi-hat stand? Solid construction as one would expect from DW. One of the very best stands out there! Highly recommended!
Best Hi-Hat stand
Even more durable than I thought. Everything you would expect from DW.
Accentuate the positive!
Last night, I used this stand for the first time with my band. From the very first song, I noticed a very clear and pronounced "chick" in my left ear. It became clear that my hi hat cymbals never sounded as "pronounced" before as it did with this stand. Yes, I was completely blown away and even my bassist commented on how nice the hi hats are "cutting" through. I also became totally apparent I had to use more dynamics with the left foot. Why did I wait so long to purchase this baby? I had used a DW 5000 for years and never heard my hi hats sound so clearly and pronounced! Thank you DW!
Great Stand!!!!!
What can i say? This is a great stand. Ive used it for 2 years now and it has never let me down. It has been thrown in vans and trunks of cars and has stuff piled on top of it and has never let me down yet. When DW says heavy duty that is what they mean. Next to the bass drum pedal your hi hat stand is the most important piece of hardware.you need. Well worth the extra money you will spend.
The best I've ever used
Wow. This thing is a beast. Super solid, super beefy. The cam action of the pedal has to be felt to be appreciated. This is so much better than my 3000 series hi hat stand that there simply is no comparison. The 9000 stand is in class all its own. It is divine. You get what you pay for. Also, having two rods is great so I don't have to cut a long one down. The short one is perfect and prevents leaving excess length up in the air. And the hi-torque drum key is a nice extra too.
Only two small complaints/suggestions.
1) PLEASE get rid of the velcro - use rubber just like the 9000 bass pedal. Velcro is so annoying when trying to make small location adjustments. This stand is so stable, even with two legs, that velcro just isn't needed. The spikes aren't needed either (wasted weight). So stop with the dang velcro - lol.
2) This should have come with the upgraded DW clutch (with the "V" clamp and easy adjust knobs) which I had to buy separately (well worth it regardless). The 5000 and up series should come with the top clutch.
But still, this is the very best and surely the last hi-hat stand I will ever need.
Perfect
OK, the first few moments I had with this stand were a bit confusing. One aspect is there seems to be no adjustment for the height of the foot board. However, this is not such an issue when lined up with my 9002 kick pedals. After playing with this hi hat stand for an hour, it became quite apparent just how smooth, quiet, and responsive it is. Finally found the "sweet" spot in adjusting the tension AND leveling the stand with the legs so as not to wobble (as my old dw 5000 did). Would I recommend this stand to my students and fellow drummers? Absolutely! Would I suggest them buying from Sweetwater ... in a heart beat! I gave this stand a 4.5 rating only due to the lack of adjustment on the foot board height. Other than, it is an awesome joy to have with my set(s).
making my life easier
One for practice, one packed for playing out. Some things in life I know not to be cheap. This is one of them.
Get it right.
Was really excited on this purchase and I will say it is a well built stand, however, some shortsightedness in developing. First off, stabilizing the stand on any surface proves to be one heck of a chore and I still haven't achieved it yet. Secondly, the height of the foot-board can not be adjusted and is in a permanent high angle causing a player who uses full foot contact (heal vs ball) of the foot unnecessary stress on the ankle. The spring tension is far from being infinite as in so much as tightening raises the foot board slightly higher and with only slight notice of tension. I'm not impressed. I've used a DW 5000 bought in the nineties that actually adjusts as well if not better. I should return for the Tama Speed Hi Hat next.
Not stable. I'm pretty shocked
When it comes to DW, nearly anything you purchase is solid as you can get. I was completely shocked by this. For the money you are spending, you would expect this hi-hat stand to have every possible flaw addressed and be as solid as you would expect.
Here's the problem. The pedal plate does NOT act like a leg. At all. If you are like me and keep tempo with your leg lifting off the pedal board and coming back down, this is going to sway like you wouldn't believe. There is NOTHING you can do to prevent it. Raising the pedal board higher won't help. Keeping it completely flat wont help. Even if you are lucky enough to have a stage that is completely perfect.
My opinion is that this stand is simply too heavy to be without the third leg. Ridiculously heavy. My only solution was to unfortunately use a Gibraltar extending multi clamp to clamp the hi-hat stand to my snare stand to prevent the stand from swaying all over the place.
If you are playing on an imperfect stage or drum riser like most of us, the stand is rendered almost unusable without some sort of modification.
Because of the extremely heavy duty weight of this stand and me being convinced it is the reason it is so unstable, I would suggest a more lightweight two legged stand such as the 3000 or maybe even the 5000. Save yourself the BIG $$$ and don't make the same mistake I did.
Really disappointing.
