I personally think this thing is fabulous!

I have it mounted on a 22" kick, and it gives my nice modern sounding DW kit a vintage look & vibe (I also have the DW bass mounted Ride Cymbal arm). Those 2 additions have eliminated much weight from my gig bag, as I was able to lose a flat base cymbal stand for the ride, and a heavy duty tripod stand for flying the tom. Placement was easy and only required two holes. I'm going to try to help some folks who like me could not find the actual dimensions of this thing before they purchased: The bar sits at 2 1/4" at its center point (2 1/8" on each end). The middle assembly is 5 1/8" high, and the tom arm is 6" long. The entire mount is 12 5/8" tall. You can easily flip the tom arm down to place your tom really low (it comes with a memory-lock to secure it), however I have no issue with the tom positioning as is. I love it!

Rigid, Robust.

Rail mounts have come a long way as is evident with the DW Vintage Rail Mount. Easily installed, it holds an 8x12 or a 9X13 rack tom ABSOLUTELY RIGID in no matter what position you choose. A very robust unit, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for an aftermarket rail mount!
