Pedal is awesom!!!!!!♡♡

This is an absolute beast for beginner double bass players, and it stands up to a lot of abuse and is pretty reactive. My only complaint is that the slave pedal lags at an angle but a trick drive-shaft fixes that right up.

The best pedal I ever had.

My opinion these kick pedals are the only choice for me.
Ease of performance stands out. They have always been my favorite. Top of the line craftsmanship.
The HD zippered case to house them while moving or traveling is incredible quality too.

I've owned my dw 5002 Double Pedal for 25yrs. It's like a Timex. I broke the double chain once (after about 15yrs of abuse), but thanks to dw's online parts store I was up & running again within several days. I bought a dw 9002 to replace the 5000. I keeping trying the 9000 in favor of newer, better, faster, but I just like the dw 5000 more. My dw 5000 is the piece of gear I have that I always go back to. Yes the 9000 is great pedal, but the 5000 is just a better pedal IMO. Buy one.

The 5002 pedal is an amazing pedal. I just bought a 5002 double pedal for my traveling Sonor kit. Honestly, now that I have both the 9002 and the 5002, I would never spend the extra money on the 9002 pedal. The 5002 feels pretty much exactly the same. So unless your an incredibly hard banger and break pedals, I would recommend the 5002 over the 9002. If you need an indestructable pedal, get the 9002. However, I can't imagine breaking either pedal before the head breaks.

I had the Ahead Mach 1 double pedal with the QTC's and that pedal was good, but the qtc's kept gauging a track into the rod and it allows felt loose so I returned it twice and bought this.
Right out of the box this pedal was great. A few minor adjustments and this pedal is amazing. In retrospect I should have just spent the extra $ in the first place and bought this. I chose the 5000 over the 9000 because reviews that I read on the 9000 suggested that it also felt loose like the qtc's.

I purchased the DW 5002 pedals after 17 years with my DW 9002 double pedals, I decided it was time to replace them. Don't get me wrong, my 9000's have been fantastic and are super smooth, but are now showing their age.
I remember owning a set of 5000 pedals back in the late 90's and missed the feedback response I could get from them. The accelerator cam is nice. It puts weight behind the stroke as the beater hits the kick. Even when adjusting the cam on the 9000's, I couldn't get it to feel the same.
I think both series have their place. It's merely a matter of taste.

I love kick pedals especially doubles. This is by far the best pedal I've played in years. I love the speed and accuracy that this pedal delivers

Never owned one before. Used them alot on other people's kits. The quality and adjustability are great and this will be my go to pedal for many years to come.

Before buying this baby, I was going back and forth between the DW 5002 and the Speedcobra HP910. Since I'd never had the chance to have a piece of DW gear I decided to give this one a try, and honestly I haven't looked back ever since.

I have read - and to a certain point I can agree - that this pedal has a little bit of an extra weight to it. Indeed it feels bit heavier than my previous HP900 Iron Cobra Power Glide, but surprisingly it's way more fluid for me and also helps me to deliver more consistent-sounding doubles and triples on just a single pedal. For MY personal preference it's smoother, and packs a little more punch than Tama's yet-wonderful Cobra line of pedals.

On the other hand, i was slightly disappointed with the pedal link just for one detail. One of the screws wasn't able to be tightened up and in general it's harder to tighten the screws to safely set it in to position v/s Tama's Cobra pedal link. Just a minor issue that me as an OCD guy couldn't ignore.

Besides that tiny detail, the performance of the pedal itself truly reveals why this Bad Larry is an industry standard.

The new features such as the Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp, Dual-Bearing Spring Rocker; as well as the all faithful Delta-Bearing Hinge really makes me feel that it's an extension of my feet. DW really has my trust in terms of Bass Drum pedals since I tried them out for the first time

Overall, I truly recommend these pedals.

This pedal is the real deal. All of the positive reviews about this pedal are true. Easy set up, new technology and easy adjustments make this pedal a sure winner for international drum artists and novices as well. Smooth and sharp attack responsiveness will make you want to play all day.

I've been using an old DW4002 with a single chain for playing a cajon while I play a Taylor acoustic through the new Bose S1. I knew the DW5002 was what I wanted and needed. The 5002 took a little setup to do what I needed it to do. I think every single part is adjustable in one way or another, so it came together great. The old 4002 seems like a toy now. I can even do a roll/fill on one pedal! Even if you don't know anything about drum stuff, you can still see the quality. Since I will never push this double pedal as hard as someone who uses it for real drums, I can see no reason why it shouldn't last a lifetime. This pedal is so smooth and easy. It's the best double bass pedal that there is. It's been that way for 25 years. There's a reason DW hardware can always be trusted: they know what they're doing and they take what they're doing seriously.

DW 5000 the best double pedal ever. I purchased mine 12 years ago and with very little maintenance, it still performs like brand new. I've owned the high end pearl and tama pedals but it does not compare to this one. The power, speed, and control that you get is f*king unbelievable. This is the pedal you want to get if you gonna play hard ****.....

The speed, adjustability, and performance is outstanding for my 13 year old daughter. She kicks the double with ease compared to the Gibralter she did have. With DW you can't go wrong! I just may trade her my Iron Cobra when she's not looking. It is an awesome pedal and will make any level drummer a happy one.
