Beyerdynamic DT 250 80 ohm Closed-back Broadcast and Studio Headphones Reviews
Beyerdynamic's DT250 headphones are a great pick for both broadcast and studio applications. Thanks to their closed design, they provide excellent isolation from outside sources - so they won't bleed sound into your live microphones. With the DT250s, you get a 1/8"-1/4" adapter so you'll be able to use them wherever you need, whether connected to the console or to any MP3 player. Beyond that, thick, super-comfortable padding ensures that you can rely on your DT250s during long on-air or recording sessions.

DT 250: Its Best Feature
You buy an expensive set of headphones. They sound great. But in a moment of insanity, you forget you're wearing them as you head for the coffee pot/commode/whatever. You tear the cable from your headphones because they are hardwired to the cable and the cable does not stretch.
The DT 250 are high quality headphones, of course. But their best feature is the cable. It's coiled so it has plenty of give and it's detachable so, if your dog chews it or you run over it with the vacuum cleaner, you can buy a replacement without having to replace the whole shebang. And because the cable is coiled, you can't choke the dog that chewed it.
Great Headphones
A product I've used off and on for years, I finally decided to replace my old cans with these. I purchased them specifically for the tight grip and isolation, as I'm primarily a live sound engineer these days, and wanted something with higher fidelity than what's typically found laying around at clubs, or thrown into a work case.
I'm extraordinarily happy with the product's sound and build quality... I don't have to be afraid of them getting knocked around on the gig. The ability to detach the cable (from the headset), or screw it on permanently is nice, as well as the screw off 1/4'-1/8 adapter. It's also nice to have the lower impedance, as I often found myself needing to crank the monitor pot way too high on my old cans... from a low budget to high end board, they seem to always have headroom to spare.
My only real con with this product is the curly cable, it always seems to get caught up on stuff.
Solid Headphones
Great head phone, for any thing music has to throw at you been using them for the pass six years an had to draw on them to correct many mix either by me or others great to have as a back up even if you have the most expensive monitors they will let you hear what is wrong but only problem but its not one very tight on the head but thats all good overall must have must get product
Extreme Detail with a Skull crunch
I have owned my DT-250's for almost 2 years now. I am the engineer of my own recording studio in my area and do most of my mixing/mastering on Event monitors however there are times I need to use cans. I can tell you that these headphones are flat eq wise but come with a drawback of the old "SKULL CRUNCH" when wearing them for extended periods. Also be aware of verbs and effects that are much more predominant in headphones than when using them in a treated room. Overall I would give these headphones a 9 on a scale of 10 for functionallity. The only drawback is their sqeeze on your head.
Happy Mixing,
David
