Amazing sound

By Shane from NC on February 9, 2024 Music Background: Everything

We have a pair of these as our mains. Even out doors these speakers get louder, while clean, then anything we have ever had. One strong person can move one, but these are no joke. They are amazing, but large and heavy. Best moves by two people but totally worth it.

Excellent sound quality at high volumes

By Matt on January 18, 2023 Music Background: Live sound and DJ work

Hi all, I'm running these with the matching DRM18S subs. Excellent sound quality, very loud but not harsh sounding. I DJ and do live sound reinforcement. The speakers are very neutral sounding. If you are playing tracks as a DJ, they sound like they were meant to when the recordings were mastered. Very accurate speakers - on par with what I use in my studio for mixing and mastering, just louder. I haven't done any live sound with them yet but expect they will be great! Very easy to set up the equalization, crossover points, etc…. The preset for use with the matching sub gives very clean even frequency response all the way down to the first octave. Very strong bass and very musical sounding. Bass guitar and synthesized bass lines are very clean and clear. I've used JBL and Electrovoice for many years - these sound as good or better than anything I've used in the past. Very easy to set up the gain levels for the speakers and on your mixer using the level meters on the control panel. Very useful!

Mackie DRM 315

By Benny from New York on January 20, 2020

For those of us who aren't Professional DJs, and just want to hear good music with Bass these are hands down more then good enough. I purchased 2 of them just for home and personal use, i promise you wont regret a penny spent. I never in my life ever heard music like this and if ever i want to throw a family gathering im well prepared and will guarantee people would be asking about these speakers.

The hype is true!!

By G&G Sound and Light from Alaska on May 22, 2019 Music Background: Radio DJ/Mobile DJ/Motorsports Announcing

This is my first "high end" speaker purchase. I've been using Mackie SRM subs and Thump 12's and 15's for the last year with my mobile DJ business.I never had a single complaint from clients, but my pro buddies talked me into an upgrade. I was worried the performance was worth the big extra cost, but after pushing them to their limits I can say that Mackie should be charging more.

I bought a pair of DRM315s. The very first thing I noticed was how BIG they are...like two 18: Subs stacked big. The second thing that just stunned me was the DEAD silence when they are powered on without signal. The power conditioning and DSP is absolutely perfect.

The mids and highs are so clear it's hard to describe. The lows are powerful with plenty of headroom. These speakers TRULY could be used alone without subs and the non-pro would never complain. The menu controls and options are super easy to use, I haven't honestly even looked at the user's manual.

I experimented with boosting the bass by 3db on the speaker EQ. It needed that to sound like a top with a sub...but at volume the mid lows get just the slightest bit muddy, barely detectable. I have them now running through the high outs on my SRM1850 subs with the crossover on sub and speaker set to 80 Hz.

Don't hesitate! these things are better that the other trendy brands. Mackie should charge more!

I was very doubtful

By Klaxsic from BALTIMORE, MD on June 18, 2022

I was a little concerned of the weight, because I have M.S., but
they are literally big enough to roll them straight into the an event and leave them the floor. 2 of these and sub easily accommodate a large venue easy. Just did a setup at a mansion with outdoor space that can easily fit 1,000 people. I love them. I highly suggest them for those who seek the next step up. I do suggest putting them poles though.
